    摘要: The article deals with issues related to the use of the new elemental base in some control and monitoring systems for the principles of large-scale objects, constructing portable devices for monitoring ultraviolet radiation. These are the semiconductor sensors - a doser that gives a quantitative result on a digital indicator, either delivering a light or sound signal when reaching a predetermined radiation dose and a dosimeter that measures the intensity of UV radiation or the dose received in real physical units of measurement.

  • A portable non-enzyme photoelectrochemical ascorbic acid sensor based on BiVO4 electrode under 20?W LED light

    摘要: BiOI film was electrodeposited deposited on fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO), then it was transformed into a nanoporous BiVO4 film by annealing at 420 ?C. The BiVO4/FTO electrode is used as photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor to detect ascorbic acid (AA) for the first time. Under illumination of low power 20 W LED lamp, the current density of the sensor increases with the increase of AA concentration. The proposed PEC sensor exhibited a sensitive detection for AA in a wide range from 5 μM to 300 μM with a low detection limit of 1 μM (S/N=3) and sensitivity of 293 μA mM-1 cm-2. A portable AA detection device was constructed with a 20W LED lamp as the light source, BiVO4/FTO electrode as an anode, Pt as a cathode, and ammeter as a photoelectric signal receiver. The concentration of AA detected by this device is close to that measured by the electrochemical workstation (RSD<10%), which makes the sensor practical and portable.

  • Smartphone-based three-channel ratiometric fluorescent device and application in filed analysis of Hg2+, Fe3+ and Cu2+ in water samples

    摘要: Determination of metal ions in water samples, especially harmful heavy metal like mercury or essential elements like iron and copper, is an important work in environmental monitoring. Herein, we report a smartphone-based three-channel ratiometric fluorescence device for simultaneous determination of Hg2+, Fe3+ and Cu2+ in environmental samples on site. It was based on the fluorescence quench mechanism of Hg2+, Fe3+ and Cu2+ to three kinds of doped carbon quantum dots, which were prepared by pyrolysis methods using ammonium citrate, citric acid + 1,10-phenanthroline, and EDTA + thiourea as initial materials, respectively. By using a multivariate calibration method, the mutual interference among Hg2+, Fe3+ and Cu2+ can be corrected. Under the optimized conditions, the limits of detection for Hg2+, Cu2+ and Fe3+ are 3, 0.5, and 30 nM, respectively. The proposed device offers the advantage of portability, sensitivity and reliability for field analysis.

  • Portable Mid-Infrared Device and Chemometrics for the Prediction of Low (0.5%) Total <i>Trans</i> Fat Content in Fast Foods

    摘要: The ruling that partially hydrogenated oils (PHO) are no longer “generally recognized as safe (GRAS),” has accelerated the replacement of PHO ingredients with fat alternatives having increasingly lower or no trans fat content. In the present study, we developed a Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic procedure in conjunction with multivariate partial least squares regression (PLSR) and found it suitable for the accurate prediction of low (0.5%) total trans fat content, as percentage of total fat, measured as fatty acid methyl esters (FAME), in the lipids extracted from 24 representative fast foods. This multivariate data analysis approach is relevant because the precision of the current univariate FTIR official method (AOCS Cd 14-09) is reportedly poor below 2% of total fat, while PLSR has allowed us to accurately predict the concentration of low trans fat in fast foods. The performance of a portable FTIR device was also evaluated and compared to that of a benchtop FTIR spectrometer. For both infrared data sets, PLSR-predicted concentrations of total trans FAME, ranging from approximately 0.47% to 11.40% of total FAME, were in good agreement with those determined by a primary reference gas chromatography (GC) method (R2>0.99); high prediction accuracy was also evidenced by low root mean square error of cross-validation (RMSECV) values. The lowest RMSECV error of 0.12% was obtained with the portable device. The lowest total trans FAME concentration, determined by GC to be 0.42%, was accurately predicted by the portable FTIR/PLSR procedure as 0.47% of total FAME.
