摘要: The discriminant analysis model of different medicinal liquor was established based on Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) combined with support vector machine (SVM) and principal component analyses (PCA) with the validation accuracy of 99% and training accuracy of 100%. The model was also tested by the external samples with the prediction accuracy of 97%. The accuracy data of the experimental showed that Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) can be applied well for the classification of medicinal liquor.

Effectiveness of a Qualitative Approach Toward Evaluating OCT Imaging for Detecting Glaucomatous Damage
摘要: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine whether a qualitative approach toward evaluating optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging improves the ability to detect glaucomatous damage compared to a conventional metric of global circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (cpRNFL) thickness. Methods: A total of 394 healthy eyes and 272 glaucoma eyes were evaluated. Glaucoma eyes were categorized as perimetric (156 eyes) based on a history of three or more consecutive abnormal 24-2 visual field tests or suspected glaucoma if they did not (116 eyes). Customized one-page reports derived using OCT volume scans of the optic disc and macula from these eyes were qualitatively graded for the probability of optic neuropathy affecting the eye. Results: The sensitivity of detecting perimetric glaucoma eyes with the global circumpapillary RNFL thickness metric and qualitative evaluation of the OCT imaging results were 86.5% and 95.5% at a specificity of 95%, being significantly higher for the latter (P < 0.001). There were seven eyes with perimetric glaucoma missed by the qualitative evaluation. Based upon examination of all available visual fields, at least four of these seven eyes had visual fields that either improved or had abnormalities that were inconsistent over time or with patterns of glaucomatous damage. Conclusions: Qualitative evaluation of OCT imaging results allows glaucoma eyes with repeatable visual field abnormalities to be detected with a high level of accuracy, performing better than a conventional summary metric of global cpRNFL thickness.

摘要: The paper presents bit-plane specific new measures to visualize the extensive statistical detail of an image. We compute the frequency of ones, maximum run length and correlation among rows (columns) in each bit-plane of an image. The computed measures give row-wise and column-wise structural detail at bit-plane level and help an interpreter to analyze given image deeply for its effective interpretation and understanding. In this paper, the application of these measures is shown in cryptography to statistically analyze the image ciphers. The simulation study shows that the proposed measures are very useful and can be applied in various image processing applications for pattern recognition and understanding of visual objects.

摘要: The research of miniaturized XRF/XRD analyzers are carried out in this paper, especially the qualitative analysis based on EDXRF, a miniaturized energy dispersive X-ray ?uorescence spectrometry platform is designed and a qualitative elemental analysis software based on Android operating system is developed. The elemental qualitative analysis software can preprocess the X-ray feature spectrum by background eliminationsmoothing and energy coef?cient calibration, after these pretreatments, the main elements of the sample can be analyzed. The experimental results show that the qualitative elemental analysis platform proposed in this paper can measure the elements of Al to Au in the periodic table, besides, the detection accuracy of multiple samples is higher than 97%. The mineral qualitative elemental analysis software proposed in this paper can be applied to any portable analysis platform based on Android operating system, moreover, it will spur advances in the development of the miniaturization and intelligent X-ray ?uorescence spectrometer.

Rapid qualitative evaluation of velvet antler using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS)
摘要: The aim of this work is to study a rapid analysis method to evaluate velvet antler products qualitatively, using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). We used principal component analysis to select feature lines of LIBS spectra of velvet antler, and built two partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) classification models to distinguish between inferior and good quality velvet antler by using the intensities of all lines and feature lines as input variables, respectively. The correct classification rates (CCRs) of these two models were both 100%. In order to test the robustness of the models, we used these two models to discriminate the samples not included in the training set to build the model, and the CCRs were 87.5% and 100%, respectively. The results demonstrated that combining LIBS with PLS-DA could evaluate the quality of velvet antler, and the robustness could be improved by using the intensities of feature lines as inputs.

Current trends in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy: a tutorial review
摘要: The purpose of this tutorial article is to provide a brief update on the advances available for laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), focusing broad experimental and instrumental possibilities. Due to the inherent versatility of LIBS, this technique can be elegantly applied to various applications. However, during the method development one should have prior knowledge about its analytical limitations in order to obtain reliable results. In the present review, we summarize key analytical variables required for proper sample treatment, analytical signal enhancement, data processing, qualitative and quantitative approaches as well as recent research and developments using LIBS. Remarkable analytical advances have recently been proposed for LIBS and raised its analytical performance to a level never reached before. Most prominent perhaps, have been the development of many nontraditional calibration approaches based on transition atomic energies (emission wavelengths), the use of a single standard for calibration, increase of the ablated sample mass (accumulated laser pulses), and even overcoming severe LIBS problems such as the matrix effects.

Impacts of impaired face perception on social interactions and quality of life in age-related macular degeneration: A qualitative study and new community resources
摘要: Aims Previous studies and community information about everyday difficulties in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) have focussed on domains such as reading and driving. Here, we provide the first in-depth examination of how impaired face perception impacts social interactions and quality of life in AMD. We also develop a Faces and Social Life in AMD brochure and information sheet, plus accompanying conversation starter, aimed at AMD patients and those who interact with them (family, friends, nursing home staff). Method Semi-structured face-to-face interviews were conducted with 21 AMD patients covering the full range from mild vision loss to legally blind. Thematic analysis was used to explore the range of patient experiences. Results Patients reported faces appeared blurred and/or distorted. They described recurrent failures to recognise others’ identity, facial expressions and emotional states, plus failures of alternative non-face strategies (e.g., hairstyle, voice). They reported failures to follow social nuances (e.g., to pick up that someone was joking), and feelings of missing out (’I can’t join in’). Concern about offending others (e.g., by unintentionally ignoring them) was common, as were concerns of appearing fraudulent (’Other people don’t understand’). Many reported social disengagement. Many reported specifically face-perception-related reductions in social life, confidence, and quality of life. All effects were observed even with only mild vision loss. Patients endorsed the value of our Faces and Social Life in AMD Information Sheet, developed from the interview results, and supported future technological assistance (digital image enhancement). Conclusion Poor face perception in AMD is an important domain contributing to impaired social interactions and quality of life. This domain should be directly assessed in quantitative quality of life measures, and in resources designed to improve community understanding. The identity-related social difficulties mirror those in prosopagnosia, of cortical rather than retinal origin, implying findings may generalise to all low-vision disorders.

Silver nanoprisms based plasmonic ELISA for sensitive detection of fluoroquinolones
摘要: Fluoroquinolones are synthetic antibiotics that are commonly used in animal husbandry, and the consumption of animal products with fluoroquinolone residues has imposed serious threat to human health. Here, we report a plasmonic enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (pELISA) method based on oxidative etching of silver nanoprism (AgNPR) for the quantitative and qualitative detection of danofloxacin (DAN), a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. AgNPRs that undergo colorimetric changes upon oxidative etching by H2O2 serve as the signal transducer in our design. The indirect competitive pELISA was constructed by introducing biotinylated monoclonal antibody (mAb), streptavidin and biotinylated glucose oxidase, which catalyzes the generation of H2O2 for etching AgNPRs. The quantitative detection limit of the proposed method was 0.24 ng/mL for DAN. The qualitative detection limit for DAN reached 0.32 ng/mL, which was 32-fold lower than that of the assay using 3, 3’, 5, 5’-Tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) as the signal transducer. The average recoveries of DAN in milk ranged from 103% to 121%, with a coefficient of variation of 0.6% - 3.41%. The recovery results were further confirmed using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. In summary, the proposed AgNPR etching pELISA produces high sensitivity, good accuracy and excellent reliability for the quantitative and qualitative detection of DAN in milk.

摘要: The calibration curves of heavy metal elements Cd and Ni were established based on laser induced breakdown spectroscopy of standard soil and soil to be tested. The plasma excitation test was carried out on the soil by laser induced breakdown spectroscopy to obtain a plasma spectrum with a wavelength of 300-1000 nm. By comparing the characteristic peaks in the obtained spectrum with the National Institute of Standards and Technology database, it is found that the test samples contain heavy metal elements such as Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni and W, and the Cd and the measured standard soil. The main method analysis of the peak of Ni element is carried out, and the principal component regression model is established to obtain the calibration curve of Cd and Ni elements, and then the content of Cd and Ni elements in the soil to be tested is estimated. Based on the concentration of the national standard soil sample and the measured spectral intensity, the linear correlation coefficients between the predicted and actual values of the Cd and Ni element contents were established to be 1 and 0.99443. Compared with the commonly used methods, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy can quickly detect samples to be tested, and sample pretreatment is simple and less damage to the sample.

Reasons for Laser in Situ Keratomileusis in China
摘要: SIGNIFICANCE: Myopia is a major health issue in East Asian countries, especially in China. By identifying Chinese patients' motivations for laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) surgery, our results are expected to help clinicians counsel patients before LASIK surgery and to maximize patients' post-operative LASIK surgery satisfaction, improving the quality of LASIK surgery services. PURPOSE: Laser in situ keratomileusis has become a popular type of refractive surgery for the correction of myopia worldwide. This study uses qualitative inquiry approaches to understand the motives and processes of patients' LASIK surgery decision making. METHODS: A purposive sample of 45 patients who had decided to undergo LASIK was recruited. Our qualitative study used in-depth interviews and used content analysis to interpret the data. RESULTS: Among 45 participants, 48.9% reported that career requirements were the most important reason for seeking LASIK surgery. The inconvenience of wearing glasses or lenses during activities of daily life was also a primary motive. Improving facial appearance was a main reason for female but not male respondents. Potential complications of spectacles and contact lenses in addition to maturation of LASIK technology were also reported motives to seek surgery. Participants gave multiple, overlapping reasons for LASIK surgery. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that motives to seek LASIK surgery are not only a desire to correct refractive error but also social factors and confidence in improved surgical technology. The implications for clinicians are to be aware of these multiple motives for LASIK to improve the quality and effectiveness of health services for myopia patients.
