    摘要: The luminance method applied while assessing the quality of lighting for the roads, mainly for motor traffic, with movement speed ranging from average to high, was described in this article. The main part of the article refers to the issue of taking measurements of luminance distribution on the roads. The measurements taken on the expressway were presented and probable causes of differences between the results of the project and results of the measurements were described.

  • Effect of molar concentration on physical properties of spraydeposited SnO2 thin films using nebulizer

    摘要: In the present paper, tin dioxide (SnO2) thin ?lms had been fabricated with different precursor concentration in the range of 0.01–0.09 M onto amorphous glass substrates utilizing nebulizer spray method. The effect of precursor concentration on electrical, morphological, structural, optical, and photoluminescence properties has been investigated. XRD spectrum revealed that the polycrystalline nature of SnO2 thin ?lms with tetragonal structure in the range of precursor concentration 0.03–0.09 M, which are having a favorable growth orientation along (110) direction. The estimated average crystallite size varied between 22 and 53 nm. UV-Visible spectrum exposes the transmittance of SnO2 thin ?lms lies between 90 and 78% in the visible range. The direct band gap energy reduced from 3.83 to 3.71 eV on increasing precursor concentration upto 0.07 M and then it was further increased. Photoluminescence spectra at room temperature exhibited a strong peak at 362 nm with shoulder peak at 376 nm and two broad peaks are 493 nm and 518 nm. SEM analysis illustrated that the polyhedron-like grains were homogeneously arranged over the ?lm surface. The ?lm prepared at 0.07 M precursor concentration shows the least resistivity 2.41 × 10?3 Ω-cm and good ?gure of merit 16.41 × 10?3 (Ω/sq)?1.

    摘要: In this paper results of experimental measuring of bright spots of complex shape object in radar range with decomposition method are presented. The main idea of decomposition method lies in providing measurements in near field zone, often in distance of several meters from the object. Due to narrow radiation pattern of the antenna only a fragment of the object will be lightened by the radar situated in the near zone. So, in order to estimate full RCS of the object, a series of measurements must be held. In this work the results of such measurements will be presented and compared with results of numerical testing. This work makes it possible to in further carry out similar studies for UWB signals investigations.

  • Electronic transport in degenerate (100) scandium nitride thin films on magnesium oxide substrates

    摘要: Scandium nitride (ScN) is a degenerate n-type semiconductor with very high carrier concentrations, low resistivity, and carrier mobilities comparable to those of transparent conducting oxides such as zinc oxide. Because of its small lattice mismatch to gallium nitride (GaN), <1%, ScN is considered a very promising material for future GaN based electronics. Impurities are the source of the degeneracy. Yet, which specific impurities are the cause has remained in contention. ScN thin films of various thicknesses were grown on magnesium oxide substrates in a (001) orientation using reactive magnetron sputtering across a range of deposition conditions. X-ray diffraction was used to verify crystal orientation. Film thicknesses ranging from 39 to 85 nm were measured using scanning electron microscopy. The electronic transport properties of the films were characterized using Hall-effect measurements at temperatures ranging from 10 to 320 K. At 10 K, the electron concentration varies from 4.4 (cid:2) 1020 to 1.5 (cid:2) 1021 cm(cid:3)3, resistivity from 2.1 (cid:2) 10(cid:3)4 to 5.0 (cid:2) 10(cid:3)5 X(cid:4)cm, and Hall mobility from 66 to 97 cm2/V(cid:4)s. Secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS) was used to determine film compositions. Finally, density functional theory (DFT) was used to compute the activation energies for various point defects including nitrogen and scandium vacancies and oxygen and fluorine substituting for nitrogen. For both oxygen and fluorine substitution, the energies were negative, indicating spontaneous formation. Nevertheless, the combined results of the Hall, SIMS, and DFT strongly suggest that oxygen substitution is the primary mechanism behind the high carrier concentration in these samples.

  • Raman spectroscopic determination of hole concentration in undoped GaAsBi

    摘要: Raman spectra of the undoped GaAs1-xBix (0<x<0.037) grown on GaAs by molecular beam epitaxy were investigated. With an increase of Bi component, we find that the longitudinal optical phonon-hole-plasmon-coupled (LOPC) mode first appears in the vicinity of the unscreened longitudinal optical (ULO) phonon frequency, and then shifts towards near the transverse optical (TO) phonon frequency. A new vibrational modes (~287 cm-1) between the TO and the ULO phonons was verified by use of low temperature polarized Raman measurement and the corresponding scattering intensities are found to be linearly proportional to the composition of Bi in GaAsBi. The hole concentrations determined by using the LOPC/ULO Raman intensities ratio increase from ~6.5×1016 to ~2.8×1017 cm -3 with Bi content and the measured results are in agreement with Hall measurements. Furthermore, the influence of excitation laser power on the estimation of the hole densities is discussed with the help of power dependent Raman spectroscopy.

  • Tightening the entropic uncertainty relations for multiple measurements and applying it to quantum coherence

    摘要: The uncertainty principle sets limit on our ability to predict the values of two incompatible observables measured on a quantum particle simultaneously. This principle can be stated in various forms. In quantum information theory, it is expressed in terms of the entropic measures. Uncertainty bound can be altered by considering a particle as a quantum memory correlating with the primary particle. In this work, a method is provided for converting the entropic uncertainty relation in the absence of quantum memory to that in its presence. It is shown that the lower bounds obtained through the method are tighter than those having been achieved so far. The method is also used to obtain the uncertainty relations for multiple measurements in the presence of quantum memory. Also for a given state, the lower bounds on the sum of the relative entropies of unilateral coherences are provided using the uncertainty relations in the presence of quantum memory, and it is shown which one is tighter.

An implementation of the advanced commercial measuring system in relation to GD&T has been demonstrated in this work.

  • Spatial Retrieval of Broadband Dielectric Spectra

    摘要: A broadband soil dielectric spectra retrieval approach (1 MHz–2 GHz) has been implemented for a layered half space. The inversion kernel consists of a two-port transmission line forward model in the frequency domain and a constitutive material equation based on a power law soil mixture rule (Complex Refractive Index Model—CRIM). The spatially-distributed retrieval of broadband dielectric spectra was achieved with a global optimization approach based on a Shuffled Complex Evolution (SCE) algorithm using the full set of the scattering parameters. For each layer, the broadband dielectric spectra were retrieved with the corresponding parameters thickness, porosity, water saturation and electrical conductivity of the aqueous pore solution. For the validation of the approach, a coaxial transmission line cell measured with a network analyzer was used. The possibilities and limitations of the inverse parameter estimation were numerically analyzed in four scenarios. Expected and retrieved layer thicknesses, soil properties and broadband dielectric spectra in each scenario were in reasonable agreement. Hence, the model is suitable for an estimation of in-homogeneous material parameter distributions. Moreover, the proposed frequency domain approach allows an automatic adaptation of layer number and thickness or regular grids in time and/or space.

    摘要: The way in which electromagnetic ?elds are transmitted and received by ground penetrating radar (GPR) antennas is crucial to the performance of GPR systems. Simple antennas have been characterized by analyzing their radiation patterns and directivity. However, there have been limited studies that combine real GPR antennas with realistic environments, which is essential to capture the complex interactions between the antenna and surroundings. We have investigated the radiation characteristics and sensitivity of a GPR antenna in a range of lossy dielectric environments using both physical measurements and a three-dimensional (3-D) ?nite-difference time-domain (FDTD) model. Experimental data were from measured responses of a target positioned at intervals on the circumference of a circle surrounding the H-plane of the antenna. A series of oil-in-water emulsions as well as tap water were used to simulate homogeneous materials with different permittivities and with complex conductivities. Numerical radiation patterns were created utilizing a detailed 3-D FDTD model of the antenna. Good correlation was shown between the experimental results and modeled data with respect to the strength of the main lobe within the critical angle window. However, there are discrepancies in the strength of main lobe at shallow angles. In all the dielectrics, the main lobes are generally broad due to the near-?eld observation distance but, as expected, become narrower with increasing permittivity. These results provide con?dence for further use of the FDTD antenna model to investigate scenarios such as larger observation distances and heterogeneous environments that are dif?cult to study experimentally.

  • Terahertz Bragg Resonator based on a Mechanical Assembly of Metal Grating and Metal Waveguide

    摘要: The physical contrast sensitivity of microwave imaging systems employing scattering-parameter measurements is defined. Methodologies are proposed for its evaluation through measurements and through simulations. This enables the estimation of the smallest detectable target permittivity contrast or size for the system under evaluation. The outcomes of the proposed simulation-based and measurement-based methods are compared for the case of a realistic tissue-imaging system. The agreement between the simulated and measured sensitivity estimation validates the proposed methods. The intention of the proposed methodology is to provide common means to quantify and compare the sensitivity performance of microwave systems used in tissue imaging as well as the antennas used as sensors. We emphasize that the proposed method targets the performance of the hardware and it is not concerned with the image-reconstruction algorithms.
