FA-LAR: an efficient flow aware based load adaptive routing scheme for optical communication networks
摘要: Routing Protocols have been proposed to enable the network to identify and suggest various routes to number of demanded flows. In the Flow-Aware Network Models, the routes are identified and selected with the help of Flow Tables or Flow Identifiers that proposed by Flow Aggregation Mechanism. That is, users can define a Flow Aggregation Model to suggest routes depend on their defined-demanded flows and this model effectively handles many flows, which helps core routers to profit aggregate routing. This is an efficient and effective approach to identify a best route to achieve required performance. It is noted from the literature survey that the Flow-Aware Multi-Topology Adaptive Routing (FAMTAR) was proposed for achieving higher Network performance through multipath solutions. This FAMTAR Model was implemented and studied thoroughly. From the experimental results, it was noticed that this model unable to i. detect and manage bulk flow, ii. Control Traffic Loss and iii. Maintain Deviation of Links Load against Traffic Load. To address the above mentioned issues, this research work is proposed an efficient Flow-Aware based Load Adaptive Routing (FA-LAR). This model is developed and implemented in ns3 and the simulation results are analysed carefully. From the experimental results, it is noticed that the prosed Model, FA-LAR is performing well as compared with the existing FAMTAR in terms of Queueing Delay, Throughput, Power Consumption (Energy Dissipation), and Load Deviation. It is also noticed that the proposed model unable to achieve higher Throughput for Low Load.

摘要: In recent years, the Wearable Wireless Sensor Network (WWSN) has become one of the most popular disaster relief networks. On-Body network is a key part of WWSN, which is responsible for the communication between wearable wireless sensor nodes and the coordinator in WWSN. The routing algorithm for On-body network is related to the energy consumption of wearable wireless sensor nodes and even the lifetime of the network. Therefore, this paper proposes a topology variable routing algorithm (TVRA) in On-Body networks. Firstly, the algorithm designs multi-hop routing to prolong the network lifetime on the premise of energy balance under the normal state of the network. When the network is abnormal, a single hop routing is adopted to ensure that the abnormal data can be sent with the lowest delay. The simulation results show that the proposed TVRA algorithm has better performance in terms of lifetime and time delay.

摘要: Dealing with video streams, transmitting various pictures or even exchanging ?les with a mobile device is common practice in today’s world. Such services produce a large amount of data which has to be transferred over a network. For the current Internet infrastructure, these large amounts of data do not pose a problem. MANETs in contrast struggle with high network load due to their speci?c features, namely high mobility and decentralized infrastructure. However, in some use cases those features are advantageous for civil as well as military applications. Public demonstrations are likely an example for a civil use case, while in the military world soldiers transmit video feeds of observations or share pictures of suspected persons with their command and fellow troops. Transmissions with high data rates provoke a high network load with over-stressed routes. Those situations often result in congestion as nodes that act as forwarding devices are usually part of several routes. Consequently, higher delays and packet loss rates as well as Denial of Service situations become an issue. To encounter decreasing performance, we propose an extension to a path discovery algorithm that we call AODV-CBR, which selects a path between a source and a destination depending on the node’s available capacity and the required resources for the requested transmission. The objective is to increase the overall performance by avoiding nodes that are already overloaded. We show that our extension yields better results in MANETs with high utilization.

摘要: Catering to the humanitarian needs of hurricane-affected residents is the most challenging part for the emergency management agencies. These agencies typically follow a centralized help disbursement model by collecting donations and disbursing them to the needful through their employees or registered volunteers. The time required to move goods and volunteers to the place of need poses a survival challenge to emergency hit residents especially during the initial few days after the emergency. We propose and design a social-media (speci?cally Twitter) aided hyperlocal help-network by utilizing the tweets to identify users who require help and those who are willing to provide it. We also analyze tweets related to road damage, traf?c jam, etc. to sense the current state of road infrastructure. We propose to match the help seekers and those who are willing to help, taking into consideration their spatial proximity and then provide the fastest working route for the help-provider to reach the matched help-seeker. Numerical experiments performed on hurricane Sandy Twitter dataset shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach as we are able to satisfy the need of more than 80% of help-seekers by matching them to appropriate help-offerer within a 24-hour duration after posting the request for help tweet with a maximum travel distance of 10 km.

摘要: A Multi-Domain Awareness Routing algorithm is proposed to reduce the energy consumption in elastic optical networks. By adopting the fragmentation metrics both of the spectrum domain and spatial domain, the blocking probability of elastic optical networks can be reduced. When new services arrive, they are prioritized to work on existing links to reduce new optical paths and working network components. Then the holding time of existing services is fully considered in order to select the candidate route with a shorter working time and thus improve energy consumption. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce the network energy consumption and hence, result in lower connection blocking probability.

摘要: Recently, deep learning methods have dominated many ?elds thanks to its powerful discriminative feature learning ability. While for hyperspectral images (HSI) analysis, these deep neural networks methods suffer from over?tting as the number of labeled training samples are limited. Thus more ef?- cient neural network architecture should be designed to improve the performance of HSI classi?cation task. In this paper, a novel attention inception module is introduced to extract features dynamically from multi-resolution convolutional ?lters. The AI-NET constructed by stacking the proposed attention inception module can adaptively learn the network architecture by dynamically routing between the attention inception modules. By exploiting different spatial size convolutional ?lters and dynamic CNN architecture, more representative feature can be learned with limited training samples. Extensive experimental results have shown that the proposed method can adaptively adjust the network architecture and obtain better classi?cation performance.

摘要: In this paper, an automatic reading system for analog instruments has been designed for monitoring in power plants. In a general automatic reading system, there are many limitations to the reading correctness and system robustness such as the high cost for the reason that there is only one instrument could be monitored by a single system, the strict restrict of the camera angle, and being not suitable for instruments with dense scales and so on. We present some solutions to overcome these limitations. Firstly, we combine a mobile inspection robot with an image capture device and the image processing method to cut the cost of the monitoring of analog instruments in power plants. Then, we use Hough transform and perspective transform to correct the geometric distortion of images caused by camera angle. Eventually, we get the result of dense scaled instruments based on polar transform. Experiments show that our system performs quite well, and the reading error is less than the results which obtained from the general automatic reading system.

Online service provisioning in elastic optical networks with hybrid algorithm for congestion aware routing and spectrum allocation
摘要: Elastic optical networks (EON) has received intensive research attraction due to its agile spectrum management in the underlying optical backbone infrastructure whose channels can be allocated on variable spectrum width. In this paper, a hybrid scheme is proposed for routing and spectrum allocation (RSA) in EON. An optimization formulation is modeled which takes into account the elastic bandwidth characteristics of optical paths as well as maintains a threshold congestion level on all links. The goal of the proposed model is to minimize the cost of using the network links which results in the minimum cost paths between node pairs. The proposed optimization model is solved offline in the initial stage to obtain routing information which is utilized for online traffic in the second stage. The proposed model is integrated with the spectrum allocation subproblem with the continuity and contiguity constraints. The computational time of the optimization model is shown to be in (time unit) seconds for different networks which is an acceptable time to obtain routing information in the initial stage. The proposed RSA scheme helps to efficiently reduce network blocking probabilities in different network scenarios as the optimization model manages to route traffic load to the underutilized links when the quality of service of lightpaths on the overutilized links meet the desired threshold congestion level.

Layout Model for Optical Interconnects Based on λ-Routing Grids and Topology Embeddings
摘要: Optical technology is being promoted as a highly promising, energy-efficient interconnect solution for next generation data centers and high performance computing systems. To overcome the energy and bandwidth limitations of electrical interconnects, all-optical technologies will be deployed at even shorter distances in the near future (board-to-board, on-board, and on-chip). On-board layout models for electronic interconnects, including the Thompson model [J. Comput. System Sci., vol. 28, no. 2, pp. 300, 1984], have long been proposed in the literature and corresponding area-efficient layouts have been found [Int. Conf. Parallel Processing, 2000] for a number of popular topologies. However, optical on-board interconnects have important differences from electrical ones, requiring the introduction of appropriate layout models for them. In this work, we look into the differences between electronic and optical on-board layouts, and propose optical interconnection layout models. In particular, we examine λ-routing grids for on-board optical interconnects in which routing options other than the traditional vertical–horizontal one are used (λ is the number of permitted routing options). We define 2D mesh topologies, based on the proposed λ-routing grids, achieving better bisection width and bisection width over area ratios than with rectangular (λ (cid:1) 2) grids. We also propose topologies with high connectivity degrees that fit the examined λ-routing grids and present their on-board layouts.

Heliostat field cleaning scheduling for Solar Power Tower plants: A heuristic approach
摘要: Soiling of heliostat surfaces due to local climate has a direct impact on their optical efficiency and therefore a direct impact on the productivity of the Solar Power Tower plant. Cleaning techniques applied are dependent on plant construction and current schedules are normally developed considering heliostat layout patterns, providing sub-optimal results. In this paper, a method to optimise cleaning schedules is developed, with the objective of maximising energy generated by the plant. First, an algorithm finds a cleaning schedule by solving an integer program, which is then used as a starting solution in an exchange heuristic. Since the optimisation problems are of large size, a p-median type heuristic is performed to reduce the problem dimensionality by clustering heliostats into groups to be cleaned in the same period.
