摘要: This paper presents a substrate integrated waveguide Butler matrix with a modi?ed hybrid coupler, operating from 28 to 32 GHz. The modi?ed hybrid coupler is realized by using 90? hybrid coupler followed by a ?45? compensating phase shifter. Thus, 45?/135? output phase differences can be obtained using this type of coupler. Compared with the equal-length unequal-width phase shifter, the compensating phase shifter exhibits better phase characteristics, with only 3? phase error over 28–32 GHz. Because the phase of compensating phase shifter is not realized by taking the phase introduced by the crossover as a reference, it gives great ?exibility to the design of compensating phase shifter. Adopting the modi?ed hybrid coupler, the designed Butler matrix features the output phases with peak to peak error of 13? and wideband performance from 28 to 32 GHz. The slot array fed by the Butler matrix can radiate four slanted beams with acceptable measured gains, in the range of 9.7~12 dBi for port 1 excitation and 8.4~11.1 dBi for port 2 excitation. The radiated beams can reach a wide azimuthal coverage between ±61?.

Dual-band substrate integrated waveguide dual-dumbbell-shaped-slot-fed patch antenna
摘要: A dual-band low-profile substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) dual-dumbbell-shaped-slot-fed (DDSSF) patch antenna is presented in this letter. The antenna is designed using the dual-dumbbell-slot feeding structure in SIW and two patches to radiate. And it achieves two passbands by exciting two modes of dual dumbbell-shaped slots (DDSSs). The first impedance bandwidth is 4.1%, the second one is 10.0% and gains up to 6.7 dBi and 7.4 dBi, respectively. Furthermore, the two bands can be separated from each other and the cross-polarization level is below ?30 dB. The simulation and measurement results of the proposed antenna are in good agreements.

Substrate Integrated Waveguide Multi-Channel Filtering Crossover With Extended Channel Number and Controllable Frequencies
摘要: In this brief, substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) multi-channel filtering crossovers are proposed for two sets of intersecting signals operating at the same or different frequencies. The number of filtering channels in two directions can be independently extended. Square SIW cavities with TE102 and TE201 modes are used as building blocks. By properly arranging feeding ports and coupling regions, isolation between different channels is achieved and bandpass responses are integrated. The design procedure can be simplified as that of single-channel bandpass filter. For demonstration, a six- and a five-channel filtering crossovers with the same operating frequency in two directions are designed and fabricated. By etching a slot on the square SIW cavity, the TE102 and TE201 modes are split and thus the frequencies can be controlled. A four-channel filtering crossover with different operating frequencies in two directions is implemented for further verification. Compared to other multi-channel crossovers, the proposed designs feature good inter-channel isolation and intra-channel filtering responses with flexibly extended channel number and controllable frequencies.

Single-to-Balanced and Balanced-to-Balanced Dual-channel Filters Using Multilayer Substrate Integrated Waveguide Cavities
摘要: This paper presents a scheme for designing single-to-balanced and balanced-to-balanced dual-channel filters using multilayer substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavities. By sharing the common SIW cavities, two single-to-balanced or two balanced-to-balanced filters are flexibly integrated as one dual-channel circuit, resulting in very high integration. The input and output ports are properly arranged to the SIW cavities, where the two modes of the TM110 degenerate modes can be separately excited by the ports of the two filter channels. Moreover, the resonance modes of one channel have no coupling to those of the other channel. Thus, isolation between the two channels is achieved even though the two channels are designed sharing the same SIW cavities. The desired balanced ports are achieved based on the inherent out-of-phase electric field property of the SIW cavity at TM110 degenerate modes. For verification, a six-port single-to-balanced dual-channel filter is implemented, exhibiting excellent single-to-balanced filtering responses of each channel and high isolation between the two channels. By converting the single-ended ports to balanced ports, second-order and third-order balanced-to-balanced dual-channel filters are proposed. Moreover, the proposed designs can also realize different channel bandwidth or channel frequencies to meet different wireless applications.

Tunable phase shifter in substrate integrated waveguide
摘要: In this paper, A variable substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) phase shifter is presented. The phase shifter is formed by capacitively coupling varactors to a longitudinal slot on a SIW. Compared to other SIW phase shifters, our design is tunable, and only occupies 7.5 mm longitudinal length. Experiment results indicate the device is shown to have up to 60 degrees phase shift in the 5.3–6 GHz range with insertion loss better than 3 dB and return loss generally better than 20 dB.

Substrate integrated waveguide dual‐frequency dual‐sense circularly polarized cavity‐backed slot antenna
摘要: A novel design of dual-frequency dual-sense circularly polarized (CP) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity-backed slot antenna is presented for dual-band wireless communication systems. The proposed antenna consists of square SIW cavity, asymmetrical bow-tie-shaped cross slot and probe feed. Due to use of asymmetrical bow-tie-shaped cross slot, circularly polarized wave radiates at two different frequencies with opposite sense of polarizations. The RHCP radiation occurs at (10.45-10.54) GHz (Lower band) and LHCP occurs at (11.26-11.34) GHz (Upper band). Moreover, in each band, sense of polarization can be change by changing the feed position. The front to back radiation ratio (FTBRR) is more than 10.5 dB and cross polarization level is lower than ?20 dB in both the bands.

摘要: In this paper, a novel power divider based on hybrid circuit of spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) and substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed. The hybrid circuit consists of three paths including one input branch (SIW) and two identical output branches (spoof SPPs). The pass-band of the power divider is controllable by designing the geometrical parameters of spoof SPPs and SIW, which is because that spoof SPPs and SIW can adjust the upper and lower cutoff frequencies, respectively. Simulated results demonstrated the characteristics of power dividers, such as highly efficient transmission, low loss, and bandwidth adjustable. The combining of spoof SPPs and SIW provides more potential for the development of the integrated functional devices in microwave frequency.

摘要: Substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based on slot antenna is projected for V-band applications and Rogers RT/duriod 5880 substrate used to build up the antenna. The anchor shaped slot is etched on top side of an antenna to improve the bandwidth. The proposed antenna is designed, fabricated, measured and validated. The measured impedance bandwidth is 5.3GHz (ranges from 57 to 62.3GHz) and resonates at two frequencies 57.96GHz, 61.16GHz respectively and also pragmatic good radiation pattern, that is well suited to operate in wireless communications.

摘要: A substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot antenna with dual wide beamwidths for future 5G applications is proposed. This design is made up of a differentially-driven feeding structure, a SIW cavity and an octagon patch etched with two orthogonal radiating slots. The radiating slots contribute on realizing the desired dual frequency bands in dual-polarized directions for 5G communications. The proposed antenna yields wide beamwidths that are larger than 100? in both E- and H-planes at both frequencies as well as a low pro?le of 0.12λc.
