摘要: In every field of human development, electricity usage is increasing promptly. Utilization of solar energy is a way to meet the energy demand. The solar inverter is one such device, which makes the solar energy to usable form. In this paper, three major inverters are presented. The voltage source and current source inverters, stand-alone and grid-connected inverters and, square, modified square and sine wave inverters come under the classification. An open loop strategy is considered for the MATLAB Simulation of the three main types of PWM inverters available in the market. A brief description of PV array, charge controller and battery is also presented in this paper.

摘要: Induction motor drive is the backbone of industrial societies. It also finds its application in Electrical vehicles. It is extensively required in rural areas for agricultural purposes, pumping drinking water, and in a water treatment process. Moreover, the necessity of switching from conventional means of generating energy to renewable methods has become the order of the day owing to its prime advantages of non-polluting nature and economic reasons. Hence, this paper addresses the implementation of a high efficient soft switched Snubber Assisted Zero Voltage and Zero Current (SAZZ) converter topology, integrated with a photovoltaic source, to power a three-phase Induction motor through three-phase inverter. Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) scheme is used for controlling the operation of the inverter employed. Variable frequency controller is utilized to control the speed of the Induction motor at a user defined value, in the midst of changing load conditions. Realization of the proposed work is carried out in Matlab atmosphere. The simulated results of the suggested work are compared with the Boost converter to validate the enriched response of the SAZZ converter.

摘要: In the following paper, the Proportional-Integral (PI) controller of the DC-DC boost converter are tuned with and without using the accelerated particle swarm optimization algorithm (APSO) and the performance of the converter is analyzed under the effect of the variable irradiation level of the photovoltaic (PV) module. The mathematical modeling of the photovoltaic module is implemented in the MATLAB/Simulink having two variable parameters, temperature and irradiation level to change the output of the module. The output of the PV module is fed to DC-DC boost converter having a particular value of the duty cycle ratio to increase the voltage to the desired constant value. A three phase sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) inverter having DC link voltage coming from the converter’s output is simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink and a three phase resistive load is connected across the output terminals of the inverter to get phase and line voltages of the inverter. The irradiation level is used as a variable parameter having a step change at regular intervals and the output voltage of the DC converter under the close feedback system is observed. A comparison is made between the tuning parameters of the PI controller calculated with and without using the Accelerated particle swarm optimization algorithm.

摘要: This paper gives the performance comparison of DCMLI fed to SPMSM drive with different modulation techniques. SPWM, SVPWM and CBSVPWM techniques are applied. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. However, CBSVPWM is an easy and digital implementation method which reduces the complexity. Control methods used are FOC and DTC. SPMSM drive due to its excellent characteristics used in Electric Vehicles and Electric Traction.

摘要: Photovoltaic (PV) systems are growing in demand due to the recent drop in prices of the solid state components. However, the quality of the output of the PV systems are still lacking behind and this is a major problem while connecting the system to the grid. Inverters being the brains of a solar PV system need to be made smarter and better. Multi-level inverters are one of the most popular types of inverters for grid-connected PV systems due to the higher quality output they can produce than other inverters. One of the key features they provide is the minimization of total harmonic distortion (THD) and electromagnetic interference which tackles leakage current issue. So, in this paper a new five-level inverter topology for grid-tie PV is proposed which is controlled using a new voltage controller that ensures higher efficiency while enhancing the stability of the system. The suggested closed loop voltage controller method additionally provides the ability to provide constant or adjustable voltage to the grid. In this proposed topology the voltage controller enables the PV system to provide high quality power to the grid which is vastly important. To validate the accuracy of the theoretical analysis, the control technique was applied to the existing multi-level inverter topology and then has been simulated in MATLAB/Simulink software. Moreover the five-level output provides a much better output and better PF then other existing topologies.
