摘要: A double-layer filter is proposed, designed, and implemented through a sixteen mode substrate integrated waveguide (SMSIW) with two defected ground structures (DGS) inside the middle metal layer. The proposed filter provides four transmission zeros on both sides of the pass-band. Through the appropriate design of the sixteenth mode and filter form, the transmission zeros can be controlled with the DGS position. The proposed filters also show a compact physical size as compared to conventional SIW filters. In order to validate the simulated results, the proposed concept is designed, manufactured and measured as an experimental example. The proposed SMSIW filter is a promising component for the design of high-performance telecommunication systems.
