  • Light-controlled imaging of biocatalytic reactions via scanning photoelectrochemical microscopy for multiplexed sensing

    摘要: A light-controlled multiplexing platform has been developed on the basis of a quantum dot-sensitized inverse opal TiO2 electrode with integrated biocatalytic reactions. Spatially resolved illumination enables multiplexed sensing and imaging of enzymatic oxidation reactions at relatively negative applied potentials.

  • Lighta??Controlled Ferromagnetism in Porphyrin Functionalized Ultrathin FeS Nanosheets

    摘要: The intrinsically weak photomagnetic interaction makes it difficult to realize effectively light-controlled magnetic structure transformation. Here unprecedented light-induced switching of magnetism is reported in porphyrin functionalized ultrathin FeS nanosheets. Contrary to the antiferromagnetic (AFM) bulk, the troilite FeS nanosheets demonstrate a ferromagnetic (FM) behavior due to superficial symmetry breaking. Under light irradiation, a large number of photo-generated carriers take part in a singlet-to-triplet conversion through intersystem crossing of tetra(4-carboxyphenyle)porphyrin molecules decorated on the nanosheets. The generated triplet carriers make spin flips occur at FeS surface, finally leading to a magnetic structure transition from FM to AFM configuration. The findings not only shed new light on steering arrangement of spin electrons but also open up almost unlimited possibilities for spintronics and optical detection of spin-dependent physiological reactions.

  • Light-controlled two-dimensional TiO <sub/>2</sub> plate micromotors

    摘要: In this work, UV light-controlled two-dimensional (2D) TiO2 plate micromotors are demonstrated for the first time. The 2D TiO2 micromotors are produced by the well-known anodic oxidation method in combination with a cracking and separation process. When the motor is placed in H2O2 aqueous solution under UV irradiation, oxygen bubbles are generated in the holes of the TiO2 membrane. The 2D micromotor thus moves upon O2 bubbles under its own weight. In contrast to bubble-propelled micromotors, which require an addition of surfactants to chemical fuels, the 2D micromotor is capable of moving in aqueous H2O2 solution without surfactants. Moreover, speed of the 2D TiO2 micromotor can be controlled by the intensity of the UV light. Such surfactant-free micromotors and their facile fabrication hold considerable promise for diverse practical applications in the biomedical and energy fields, for example, and in new materials.

  • The light-controlled actuator driven by the novel opto-electrostatic hybrid driving method based on PLZT ceramic

    摘要: The lanthanum-doped lead zirconate titannate (PLZT) ceramic has shown its potential applications as light-controlled micro actuators activated by ultraviolet light for the photovoltaic e?ect in the ?eld of micro-driven. Aiming to the slow response of photostriction of PLZT ceramic, the primary purpose of this article is to propose a light-controlled actuator with the novel opto-electrostatic hybrid driving based on PLZT ceramic. The mathematical model of the proposed light-controlled actuator is established on basis of the anomalous photovoltaic e?ect model of PLZT ceramic. The actuation characteristics of the micro actuator are investigated based on the established mathematical model and the experiments of the photovoltage of PLZT ceramic. Furthermore, the actuation curves of the micro actuator driven by opto-electrostatic hybrid driving based on PLZT ceramic are acquired to verify the rationality and feasibility of the light-controlled micro actuator design. So according to the analysis and experimental results, the light-controlled actuator driven by the novel opto-electrostatic hybrid driving based on PLZT can conduct the e?ectively and precisely displacement control with fast response speed. In addition, the driving method based on the novel opto-electrostatic hybrid driving has advantages of non-contact control, remote control and no electromagnetic interference, etc.
