Wideband circular polarized Fabry-Perot cavity antennas for V-band indoor point-to-point communications
摘要: In this paper, a 60 GHz planar Fabry-Perot cavity (FPC) antenna with a circularly polarized (CP) radiation characteristic is proposed as a good candidate for millimeter-wave wireless systems. A sparse array design is employed to enhance the gain bandwidth (GBW) product of the antenna. Complete formulations for circular polarized radiation are developed to serve as a general guideline scalable to any frequencies. The theoretical results using ideal point sources are validated by numerical analysis using the finite elements method (FEM). In the full-wave simulations, the ideal sources are replaced by four annular-ring slot antennas to excite the FPC.

摘要: A novel tunable band-notch as well as narrow band reconfigurable coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed UWB Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) has been proposed in this paper. The tunable band-notch and narrow band characteristics are achieved by placing split ring resonators (SRR) below the coplanar waveguide gap. A pair of varactor loaded SRR placed in the slots of the feeding CPW line contribute to a band-notch tuning of 1 GHz. The gain of the standalone DRA is 2 - 4 dBi in the operating range from 4 GHz to 11 GHz. The impedance bandwidth of the standalone DRA is from 2.8 GHz to 11 GHz. The narrowband characteristics is achieved by placing switches between signal and ground line of the CPW precisely above the SRRs. This antenna can be used for both interweave and underlay dynamic spectrum access in Cognitive Radio Applications.

摘要: The paper describes designs and simulations of new dual-band antennas. The designs exploit the resonance and radiating properties of the H00 mode of metal open waveguides. The proposed antennas are formed by two metal sheets of symmetrical shapes separated by a S-shape slot. The slot is backed by curved metal screens connected to the metal sheets forming an open waveguide. The slot ends are open and a 50Ohm transmission line connected to the middle of the slot is used as the antenna feed. It has been shown that the antenna designs can operate in WiFi bands without additional tuning. The antenna operational bandwidth in the lower band is about 70% and in the upper band is higher than 37%. The antenna designs are very simple and low-cost and can be efficiently used in various communication devices.

摘要: This paper presents a novel dual-port dual-band (28/38GHz) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna with stepped long slots (SLS) for base stations in fifth generation (5G) communication systems. A stepped long slot on the top side of an SIW waveguide with a changing width creates a wide and rotated beam, which is desired in some specific 5G applications. One of the unique advantages of the design is its embedded duplexer separating the 28 GHz and 38 GHz ports at opposite sides of the antenna. A wide impedance bandwidth in both bands is obtained. The realized gain of the antenna is around 11.56 dBi and 12.08 dBi in both bands, respectively. The 6 dB beamwidths are 23o and 16o at 28 GHz and 38 GHz. The structure has good frequency scanning properties and is suitable for sectored base station topologies.

摘要: Compact dual-band bow-tie MIMO antennas with fragment-type isolation structure are presented. The proposed bow-tie MIMO antennas include both canonical structures defining the radiators and fragment structures isolator. In the design, MOEA/D-DE for defining the optimization of canonical structures and MOEA/D-GO for optimization of fragment structures are combined and iterated. After the compound optimization, both simulation and measurement show that the return loss is higher than 10dB and isolation is higher than 25dB in the dual bands of 2.45-2.75GHz and 3.35-3.9GHz. Based on the overall performance, the proposed array can be employed for MIMO wireless communication systems like WiMAX.
