Night operation, analysis, and control of single-phase quasi-Z-source photovoltaic power system
摘要: The existing single-phase, quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI), photovoltaic (PV) power system with integrated battery energy storage (BES), abbreviated as BES-qZSI-PV power system, has several well-known advantages, but cannot operate at night because there is no PV power input. In this study, a solution to overcome this issue is proposed. First, the power circuit of the conventional BES-qZSI-PV topology is modified to allow its operation at both day and night. Then, the system model for the night-operation mode is built and a qZS network parameters’ design method to limit the double-line frequency harmonic at the dc side is developed. A control strategy to ensure the high-performance operation of the system at all times, is proposed. Based on an experimental platform of single-phase BES-qZSI-PV power system, three groups of experimental tests with different qZS network parameters and battery voltages are carried out to verify the model and parameters design method by means of comparing the experimental, circuit-based simulated, and model-based calculated results. The proposed BES-qZSI-PV system performance is experimentally evaluated in steady-state operation and day-to-night transit operation, as well as by the power efficiency curves in day- and night-modes.

摘要: A common mode voltage (CMV) reduction method is proposed for the active power filter (APF) integrated single-phase quasi-Z-source inverter (qZSI) based photovoltaic (PV) power system. The APF integrated qZSI completely compensates the dc-side double-line-frequency (2ω) ripple through the APF capacitor, while maintaining low qZS inductance and capacitance. The proposed method reduces the CMV amplitude to half of that using the traditional sinusoidal pulsewidth modulation (SPWM). The switching and conduction power losses are analyzed. Simulation and analysis demonstrate the proposed method reduces CMV without loss of performance and efficiency of the APF integrated single-phase qZSI.

摘要: This work deals with the modified multilayer fifth order generalized integrator (MLFOGI) based grid tied single phase solar photovoltaic (PV) system employing fuzzy logic control (FLC) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms. The MLFOGI is used to extract the fundamental component of grid voltage under polluted grid due to voltage sag, swell, harmonics, frequency variations and dc offsets. The FLC based MPPT is capable to extract optimum energy under change in weather conditions. It offers fast dynamic response under reduced PV voltage oscillation. The proposed system is developed on MATLAB 2018a and obtained results shows the feasibility of system control and Total Harmonics Distortions (THDs) of grid current are in acceptable limits as per IEEE-519 standard.

摘要: Suitable space vector modulation (SVM) schemes for current-source inverters (CSIs) with leakage current mitigation capability has not been well explored yet. In this study, a novel SVM scheme is proposed, with which the leakage current in a CSI-based transformerless photovoltaic system can be significantly suppressed. Finally, some simulations are carried out on a three-phase current-source converter (CSC), the results verify the effectiveness of the proposed SVM scheme.

Smart controller for grid stabilization in the optoelectric system
摘要: The power generated from the optoelectric source in the conversion system and the connected system should satisfy several factors such as high efficiency, less total harmonic distortion, reduced cost, less complexity, better boosting capability, etc. The boosting capability can be achieved by means of single juncture or two juncture architecture in DC–DC boost converter. Among different architecture, the Z-source riven bias inverter controls the parameter on the AC and DC sections. The steady state quantity and the time-varying parameter are regulated by controlling the intonation index. The modulation indexes are framed by digital to look at its supervision theme in grid coupled structure that has certainly not been studied so far. Hence, in this paper, the Z-source riven bias electrical converter modeling has been studied in conjunction with the decoupled space vector modulation as a control technique. The deliberate theme is studied and simulated by using a MATLAB/Simulink model to approve the analysis and simulations.

摘要: Z source inverters (ZSI) can perform single stage, buck-boost conversion and have shown to offer slightly higher efficiency over traditional inverters. However, ZSI controller unit becomes more complex when achieving all objectives of Grid connected solar inverter applications where Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), grid synchronization and harmonic reduction from output voltage and current are simultaneously implemented. The control concept used to achieve above objectives is that varying shoot through duty of ZSI while keeping peak DC link voltage at a constant value. Control structure is designed in synchronous reference frame with two cascaded loops as outer voltage control loop and inner current control loop to maintain power balance of ZSI which results constant peak DC voltage. Besides that, incremental conductance algorithm sets shoot through duty of ZSI to extract maximum power from solar panel at a given irradiance and temperature level. In this paper we present a simulation study of a grid connected ZSI along with Incremental Conductance MPPT method. The details of theory, operation, design and simulation results are included in the paper.

摘要: In recent years, solar photovoltaic systems have become more popular and today, this technology has become the application of interest mainly in isolated areas where the power grid is not accessible. Generally, PV fed dc motors are used because of their robust construction and ease to control. However, dc motors need to be frequently maintained due to its commutator and carbon brush. Hence in this paper, centrifugal pump driven by three-phase induction motor is considered. To power the three-phase induction motor, a three-phase voltage source inverter is used which performs two functions, viz., (i) converts the Maximum Power-Point dc voltage into three-phase ac voltage (ii) changes the frequency of the three-phase ac voltage and helps the system to guide at the Maximum Power Point.
