  • Improvement of the ON/OFF Switching Performance of a pH-Activatable Porphyrin Derivative by the Introduction of Phosphorus(V)

    摘要: An activatable photosensitizer for singlet oxygen is of significance due to its potential applications for high tumor-specific photodynamic therapy and diagnosis. In this study, a pH-activatable system that enables the specific photosensitization of singlet oxygen at a low pH was developed based on the complexation of a porphyrin–aniline conjugate with phosphorus(V). As a result of complexation with phosphorus, the water solubility of the porphyrin–aniline conjugate was improved by 100 times. Furthermore, this complexation strongly suppressed the singlet-oxygen-generating activity of the porphyrin photosensitizer under basic conditions, and the quantum yield of the singlet oxygen photosensitization markedly increased under acidic conditions. Based on these improvements, an extremely high ON/OFF switching ratio of the quantum yield was obtained (>400 times).

    摘要: In this study, CNT-PANI composites were prepared in soft chemical synthesis conditions using hydrothermal method. Our aim is to obtain CNT-PANI films with potential applications in VOC’s detection, using an environmental friendly, low energy consumption technique: hydrothermal-electrochemical deposition of composite films. Thin films were characterized by AFM and FT-IR analyses.

  • Modified Electrodes with Polymers Based on Aniline and Thiophene: Characterization and Possible Use as a Sensor

    摘要: A systematic steel and platinum electrodes were modified via drop-coating with polymers based on aniline and thiophene or aniline and 3-alkylthiophene previously synthesized and reported by us. Having in mind the possible applications of these materials, electrochemical (cyclic voltammetry, CV, the in different electrolytic solutions), morphological and RAMAN characterization of electrode|polymer systems was accomplished, using platinum or stainless steel discs of 0.07 cm2 geometric area as electrode substrates and poly[4-(2-thiophene)aniline], PTANI, poly [4-(3-methyl-2-thiophene)-aniline], PTANIr1, and poly [4-(3-hexyl-2-thiophene)-aniline], PTANIr2 polymer coatings. A suspension of the respective polymer in tetrahydrofuran was filtered and drops of the soluble fraction of each polymer was deposited on the electrode surface, allowing the solvent to evaporate between each drop, until the whole electrode surface was coated. n- and p-doping study was accomplished by CV in a 1.0·10-3 mol L-1 NaF solution, using 0.05 mol L-1 LiClO4 as supporting electrolyte. Thus, it was revealed that only the Pt|PTANI electrode displayed p-doping process, so it may be tried for anions removal or as an analytical sensor for this kind of species. Instead, PTANIr1 and PTANIr2 could be suggested as fluorescence sensors, while the absence of p- and n-doping processes of the PTANIr2 system on steel and platinum electrodes, makes it a good candidate for metallic corrosion inhibition, since it is highly stable towards potential changes without damaging the deposited polymeric film.

  • Tracking host infection and reproduction of <i>Peronospora salviaea??officinalis</i> using an improved method for confocal laser scanning microscopy

    摘要: Peronospora salviae-officinalis, the causal agent of downy mildew on common sage, is an obligate biotrophic pathogen. It grows in the intercellular spaces of the leaf tissue of sage and forms intracellular haustoria to interface with host cells. Although P. salviae-officinalis was described as a species of its own 10 years ago, the infection process remains obscure. To address this, a histological study of various infection events, from the adhesion of conidia on the leaf surface to de novo sporulation is presented here. As histological studies of oomycetes are challenging due to the lack of chitin in their cell wall, we also present an improved method for staining downy mildews for confocal laser scanning microscopy as well as evaluating the potential of autofluorescence of fixed nonstained samples. For staining, a 1:1 mixture of aniline blue and trypan blue was found most suitable and was used for staining of oomycete and plant structures, allowing discrimination between them as well as the visualization of plant immune responses. The method was also used to examine samples of Peronospora lamii on Lamium purpureum and Peronospora belbahrii on Ocimum basilicum, demonstrating the potential of the presented histological method for studying the infection processes of downy mildews in general.

  • Novel conductive multi-walled polymeric nanotubes of poly(diazoaminobenzene) for single-layer polymer solar cell

    摘要: Novel conductive multi-walled polymeric nanotubes (MWPNTs) of poly(diazoaminobenzene) (PDAAB) were synthesized using diazoaminobenzene monomer for the first time in this report. The synthesis followed a one-pot, cost-effective, green and template-free procedure, in which aniline was used as initiator with 87% yield at room temperature. PDAAB was characterized with spectroscopic and microscopic methods such as Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), UV-vis, X-ray diffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) as well as cyclic voltammetry (CV) and conductivity measurements. In addition, MWPNTs were used in the design of a novel single-layer polymer solar cell. PDAAB was sandwiched between TiO2 nanoparticle-modified fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) electrode and an aluminum electrode (FTO-TiO2│PDAAB│Al), as anode and cathode, respectively. Finally, various physical characteristics of the single-layer polymer solar cell were determined under simulated solar irradiation. Our proof-of-concept study demonstrated that MWPNTs provided a promising platform to develop polymer-based solar energy conversion and storage systems.

  • Highly selective fluorescence chemosensor based on carbon-dot-aerogel for detection of aniline gas

    摘要: Solid-state fluorescence sensing has become a research hotspot because it is simple and convenient in practical operation. In this study, the carbon dots (CDs)-silica aerogel solid fluorescent material was developed for the selective detection of aniline gas. The blue CDs were prepared by one-step simply hydrothermally treating low-cost sawdust, then CDs-silica aerogel composite material with the high specific surface areas and high porosity was prepared by sol-gel method based on abundant hydroxyl groups on the surface of the CDs which can initiate the gelation of tetraethyl orthosilicate. It is capable of selectively distinguishing toxic gaseous aniline with other volatile organic vapors by sensitive fluorescence quenching, and under optimal conditions, the fluorescence quenching efficiency of aniline gas can reach 76.4%. It is expected that our strategy might provide a new approach for developing a low cost, fast and sensitive CDs-based probe for environmental sensing applications.

  • Perylenetetracarboxylic Dianhydride and Aniline Assembled Supramolecular Nanomaterial with Multi-color Electrochemiluminescence for Highly Sensitive Label-free Immunoassay

    摘要: Most electrochemiluminescence (ECL) studies were focused on the single emission of luminophore, which was severely limited the development of multi-color ECL fundamental theory and applications. Herein, we prepared a multi-color ECL supramolecular nanomaterial self-assembled by 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA) and aniline (An) through hydrogen bonding. This PTCDA-An supramolecular nanomaterial simultaneously produced multi-color emission peaked at 486, 692 and 760 nm with K2S2O8 as coreactant. And the multi-emissions were assigned to excitated PTCDA monomer (486 nm), H-dimer (692 nm) and J-dimer (760 nm). The simultaneously increased dual-color ECL intensity significantly enhanced the total ECL intensity of PTCDA-An. And this high efficient ECL nanomaterial was further used as ECL platform to construct label-free immunosensor for tumor markers carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) detection. The total ECL intensity of immunosensor exhibited a sensitive decrease due to the simultaneously decreased ECL of multi-emissions. And this immunosensor exhibited wide linear range from 1 pg mL-1 to 10 μg mL-1 with low detection limit of 0.23 pg mL-1. Multi-color ECL from the same luminophore PTCDA in this work also provided a new perspective for multi-color ECL biomaterial’s design.

  • Effect of organic dyes and polypyrrole on the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells

    摘要: Polypyrrole films were coated on conductive glass by electrochemical deposition (alternative current of direct process). They were then used as the dye-synthesized solar cell counter electron electrodes. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that polypyrrole forms a nanoparticle like structure on the conductive glass. In the present study, two new organic dyes based on aniline and substituted 5-Nitrosalicylaldehyde with aniline were prepared and used and sensitizes in dye-sensitized solar cells. These dyes in solution and on a nano-anatase v2o5 substrate were investigated. Additionally, oxidation potential measurement were also carried out. Finally, dye-sensitized solar cells were fabricated to determine and conversion efficiency of each dye.

  • Synthesis, photophysical, viscosity and DFT study of solid state fluorescent molecular rotors

    摘要: Four novel Fluorescent Molecular Rotors (FMR) (1, 2, 3, 4) comprising carbazole, triphenylamine, phenothiazine, diethylaniline as donating groups and cyanoformyl vinylene as an accepting group are synthesized and characterized by NMR. They show emission in the solid state in the range of 581–651 nm. The viscosity sensitivity of emission was investigated 3.1–3.4 fold increase in emission intensity was observed in a mixture of polar protic ethanol and polyethyleneglycol 400 mixture. The experimental results are well in correlation with those of Density Functional Theory (DFT) computations. Compounds show higher values of dipole moment, linear polarizability values ranging from 49 to 59 × 10^?24 e.s.u., first order hyperpolarizability ranging from 77 to 250 × 10^-30 e.s.u. and second order hyperpolarizability ranging between 105–695 × 10^-30 e.s.u. suggest that the compounds show good Nonlinear Optical (NLO) property. The two photon absorption cross sections are found in the range 50–150 GM, which is further elucidated using Mulliken Hush analysis for analyzing effective charge transfer in the present compounds.

  • Highly sensitive luminescent probe of aniline and trace water in organic solvents based on covalently modified lanthanide metal-organic frameworks

    摘要: A novel europium functionalized MOF named Eu3+@UiO-66-NH2-IM is robustly synthesized via covalent PSM (post-synthetic modification). The ligand of matrix MOF is covalent modified via imidazole-2-carboxaldehyde after the UiO-66-NH2 is synthesized. The successful transformation of amino groups to imine groups is confirmed by FTIR analysis. The modified MOF named UiO-66-NH2-IM shows outstanding crystalline stability. After Eu3+ doped into UiO-66-NH2-IM, the as-prepared fluorescent MOF displays characteristic emission line of Eu3+. Discussion of the tunable emission color of the modified MOF is included and white light integration could be achieved through altering the ratio of Eu3+ doped into the MOF. What’s more, the luminescent transparent film based on Eu3+@UiO-66-NH2-IM can emit white light under proper excitation wavelength, which may be helpful to some potential applications in lighting. In addition, Eu3+@UiO-66-NH2-IM shows different emission response in water and organic solvents, and it is further developed into sensitive probe for the detection of water content in organic solvents (ethanol, DMF) with low detection limits ( 0.088%, and 0.054%, respectively) by utilizing its quenching behavior in water. Meanwhile, Eu3+@UiO-66-NH2-IM displays greatly selective and sensitive response for detecting aniline with a low detection limit (0.072%), a broad linear range (0-3.75%), and the signal of the detection is obvious which can be seen clearly under the irradiation of UV light.
