摘要: In order to reduce measurement uncertainty of the resistance (10-1 ? ~ 105 ?) due to the uncertainty component from the automatic direct current comparator resistance bridge (ADCCRB) ratio error, a novel method based on a direct current comparator (DCC) and two same nominal resistances is presented. The measurement uncertainty of the ADCCRB ratio error is largely dependent on DCC and Type A uncertainty of the ADCCRB. It is shown by the experimental results that the measurement uncertainty from the ADCCRB (ratio:10:1) is less than 3×10-8, k = 2.

摘要: The Multimode Thru-Reflect-Line (TRL) calibration technique is applied to perform mixed-mode scattering parameter measurements of on-wafer differential circuits. The paper describes the design and the realization of coupled coplanar waveguide (CCPW) standards on quartz (SiO2) substrate in the Ground-Signal-Ground-Signal-Ground (GSGSG) configuration. Simulation and measurement results for a mismatched transmission line demonstrate the validity of the method up to 40 GHz.

摘要: A well-known 3458A based digital sampling wattmeter was for power and harmonics measurements at SASO NMCC. Its compact design and synchronized to the power source makes the standard unique for the calibrations needed by nationwide laboratories and industry. 40 ppm and 200 ppm are the first estimations in measurement uncertainties for power and harmonics, respectively. And, the first power comparison was organized under GULFMET.EM-S2 in order to evaluate the performance of the standard.

摘要: A new method for the calibration of digitizers was tested. This method uses the unique ability of Josephson Arbitrary Waveform Synthesizer (JAWS) to generate almost any waveform with high precision. A complex waveform has been prepared such that the gain of a digitizer at different frequencies and amplitudes was calibrated simultaneously. The stability of the gain was also evaluated.

摘要: Prototype distributed digitizers have been developed with metrological precision of the individual measurement nodes. A master controller aggregates the data of the nodes and performs all computational tasks. A crucial part of the system is the synchronization of the individual nodes at nanosecond level using white-rabbit technology. Fibre-optic communication is used to reduce interference and to obtain high isolation. When operated on battery power, this allows for special applications such as the measurement of currents in high-voltage lines. First results show that a phase difference between nodes of a few μrad can be achieved with a resolution of better than 0.1 μrad.

摘要: This paper describes a calibration technique for a commercial Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) board using Thermal Voltage Converters (TVCs) up to 1 MHz with various sampling rates. The DC voltage was calibrated first. Then, AC-DC transfer difference of the ADC board was measured by comparing it with a standard TVC. The AC voltage error was calculated by using both calibration results. The estimated expanded uncertainty of the AC voltage error for 0.5 Vrms was less than 70 μV in 1-V range of the ADC for all sampling rates.

摘要: In this paper, a modification is done in the multipliers resistors of the thermal voltage converters (TVCs) to introduce a more accurate and precise standard for voltages higher than 0.5 V. The modified multiplier value which is designed and implemented at NIS, Egypt is 1 kΩ to cover the voltage range 5 V. The modified multiplier resistor (MMR) is built from ten metal-film resistors connected in series in a radial form. Modified TVC which is made by using this MMR is automatically calibrated at different frequencies. Its behavior is evaluated by the traditional TVC.

摘要: For the widespread SOLT calibration scheme, the influence of uncorrected RF performance of the VNA on the transmission parameters of the DUT is investigated. It is shown that the corresponding error is proportional to the uncorrected reflection coefficient of the passive test port multiplied by its directivity and the residual source match of the active port. The theoretical results are in excellent agreement with a variety of experiments that have been performed in the WR-10 waveguide band. The outcome of the work asks for a reformulation of the uncertainty calculation for the transmission parameters if the calibrated VNA is characterized by the residuals of the error box parameters (ripple method). Especially for well-matched devices, the contribution from this effect exceeds the known influences significantly.

摘要: This paper describes a calibration system for AC shunts using digital sampling. It provides both ratio errors and phase displacements of a shunt under test with respect to a reference shunt. In its basic configuration, the calibration system operates at currents of up to 10 A and frequencies of up to 10 kHz. The expanded uncertainties (k = 2) of the described calibration system are estimated to be better than 30 μA/A for magnitude and 30 μrad for phase at 10 kHz, and lower than these at lower frequencies.
