  • Synthesis of Indium Sulfide/Zinc Oxide Composites Films and their Photocatalytic Activities

    摘要: Indium sulfide and zinc oxide (In2S3-ZnO) films have successfully synthesized by doctor blading method coupling with low temperature precipitation-reflux rout. The weight ratio of In2S3 was varied from 0–70 wt.%. Physical characterization results obtained from various analytical techniques exhibit the well crystallinity phase of cubic β-In2S3 and wurtzite ZnO structure from XRD patterns. TEM micrograph of 35% In2S3-ZnO sample showed the small ZnO particles are embedded into β-In2S3. The obtained results exhibited the phase well crystallinity of cubic β-In2S3. A strong adsorption spectra shifted toward visible light region and the narrower optical band gap results of In2S3-ZnO composite films suggesting that synthesized samples could be used as the visible-light-driven photocatalyst. The photocatalytic activity of rhodamine B had been investigated over entire composite films under visible light illumination. It can be seen that the entire In2S3-ZnO composite catalyst films revealed degradation of rhodamine B performance obviously higher than pure ZnO and pure In2S3. Moreover, the highest photocatalytic activity was found from 35% wt. In2S3-ZnO film which showed 69.5% degradation within 4 h under visible light irradiation.

  • Facile Preparation of Micrometer KClO4/Zr Energetic Composite Particles with Enhanced Light Radiation

    摘要: Developing energetic composite materials consisting of fuel and oxidizer is an effective strategy to enhance the energy release property. However, this strategy has rarely been applied in Potassium Perchlorate (KClO4)-containing energetic materials, even though KClO4 is a much stronger oxidizer than most previously reported metal-oxide oxidizer. One of the main obstacles is the lack of simple and in situ ways to introduce KClO4 into the composite. In present work, micrometer KClO4/Zirconium (KClO4/Zr) composite particles were successfully prepared using a facile chemical solution-deposition method. The structure and particle morphologies of as-obtained KClO4/Zr composite were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electronic microscope (SEM)-EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectrometer). The evolutionary combustion behavior was evaluated using flame-based light-radiation spectra and successive photography technique. Results showed that the morphology, light-radiation properties and flame-evolution characteristics of KClO4/Zr composite varied with the content of KClO4 and the particle size of Zr. Compared with the mechanical mixture of KClO4/Zr, the KClO4/Zr composite showed much higher light-radiation intensity and longer light-emission duration time after reasonably controlling the preparation parameters. Flame photographs revealed that the enhanced light radiation of KClO4/Zr composite should be ascribed to higher use efficiency of “oxygen” in the oxidizer, which promoted both the solid–solid and solid–gas reaction pathways between KClO4 and Zr.

  • HCKBoost: Hybridized composite kernel boosting with extreme learning machines for hyperspectral image classification

    摘要: Utilization of contextual information on the hyperspectral image (HSI) analysis is an important fact. On the other hand, multiple kernels (MKs) and hybrid kernels (HKs) in connection with kernel methods have significant impact on the classification process. Activation of spatial information via composite kernels (CKs) and exploiting hidden features of the spectral information via MKs and HKs have been shown great successes on hyperspectral images separately. In this work, it is aimed to aggregate composite and hybrid kernels to obtain high classification success with a boosting based community learner. Spatial and spectral hybrid kernels are constructed using weighted convex combination approach with respect to individual success of the predefined kernels. Composite kernel formation is realized with certain proportions of the obtained spatial and spectral HKs. Computationally fast and effective extreme learning machine (ELM) classification algorithm is adopted. Since, main objective is to obtain optimal kernel during ensemble formation operation, unlike the standard MKL methods, proposed method disposes off the complex optimization processes and allows multi-class classification. Pavia University, Indian Pines, and Salinas hyperspectral scenes that have ground truth information are used for simulations. Hybridized composite kernels (HCK) are constructed using Gaussian, polynomial, and logarithmic kernel functions with various parameters and then obtained results are presented comparatively along with the state-of-the-art MKL, CK, sparse representation, and single kernel based methods.

  • SERS-signal optimised AgNPs-plated-ZnO nanoflower-like structure synthesised for sensing applications

    摘要: AgNPs-plated-ZnO nano?ower (NFs)-like structures (Ag@ZnO NFs) with optimised signals were synthesised via wet chemical method at different temperatures (50–80 °C). The enhancement factors (EFs) computed for the resultant Ag@ZnO ranged between 2.36–8.46×10^7 obtained at the different temperatures using 4-aminothiophenol (4-ATP). The achieved EF results indicate Ag@ZnO synthesised at 50 °C gave the best enhancement. It was therefore selected, characterised and used to fabricate a SERS-based nanosensor for the detection of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) with a limit of detection (LOD) of 2.87×10^{-3} μg/L realised.

  • Robust high-fidelity coherent control of two-state systems by detuning pulses

    摘要: Coherent control of two-state systems is traditionally achieved by resonant pulses of specific Rabi frequency and duration, by adiabatic techniques using level crossings or delayed pulses, or by sequences of pulses with precise relative phases (composite pulses). Here we develop a method for high-fidelity coherent control which uses a sequence of detuning pulses. By using the detuning pulse areas as control parameters, and driving on an analogy with composite pulses, we report a great variety of detuning pulse sequences for broadband and narrow-band transition probability profiles.

  • Electrical and optical responses of composite films based on N,N-dimethylamino-4′-N′-methylstilbazolium 2,4,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonate (DSTMS)-graphene

    摘要: N,N-dimethylamino-4′-N′-methylstilbazolium 2,4,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonate (DSTMS)-graphene ex-situ and in-situ composite films with 2% concentration of graphene were first prepared and systematically investigated. The crystallinity of DSTMS-based composite films were confirmed by XRD analysis, and the functional groups of composite films can be obtained by FT-IR. Optical absorptions were recorded using UV–Vis-NIR spectral analysis, and the band gap and extinction coefficient of the films were calculated. The thermal stability of the composite films were analyzed by TG/DSC. The pressure sensitive resistance test showed that the pressure sensitive signal of the composite films were significantly increased after graphene added, while the signal of DSTMS film eventually disappears. This work expands the application of organic nonlinear crystal DSTMS in optics and electricity by doping graphene.

    摘要: This article is devoted to the synthesis and investigation of thin ferroelectric and magnetostrictive layers as potential constituents of composite multiferroics. We chose alloy Fe10Ni90 as magnetostrictive medium. The magnetic anisotropy and magnetoelastic properties of films Fe10Ni90 are investigated. It is shown that they can be significantly modified with a variation in the thickness of the samples in the range 40-80 nm. We chose polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) as ferroelectric medium. Its films were obtained by spin-coating and had a thickness of ~200 nm. The analysis of the crystallinity and phase composition of the films are completed. It is established that the factors influencing on these properties are the thickness of the films and the conditions for their heat treatment. The magnetic properties of the PVDF / Fe10Ni90 film structures with optimized parameters of layered components are determinate.

    摘要: Bismuth vanadate (BiVO4) can be composited with titanium dioxide (TiO2) to obtain a photocatalyst that can be activated by visible light. Such photocatalyst may be operated by solar light, principally, a free photon source. Many researchers have been working hard to find a stable, efficient, and low cost photocatalytic systems. In this presentation, we will report our effort to prepare and characterize TiO2/BiVO4 composite, which is responsive under visible light. The TiO2/BiVO4 composite was prepared by co-precipitation method, in which the self-prepared TiO2 nanotubes was immersed in solution containing bismuth (III) and vanadate ions under certain pH. The freshly obtained TiO2/BiVO4 was dried and subjected to a heat treatment, then was characterized by XRD, UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectrophotometer, SEM, and photo-electro-chemical working station. The results showed a crystal phase mixture of TiO2/BiVO4 composite system, which are anatase (2θ of 27.5°, 36.1°, 54.3°) and monoclinic scheelite, bismuth vanadate (2θ of 19°, 29°). The photocurrent evolution under visible light exposure was investigated carefully. The results showed that the composite system is active under visible light, due to visible light absorption by narrow bandgap semiconductor, namely BiVO4. While the heterojunction system in TiO2/BiVO4 composite enhanced the separation of electron and charge, eventually, the electron would flow from the conduction band of BiVO4 to conduction band of TiO2, so the photocurrent will be enhanced. When this composite was being applied to the photoelectrocatalytic reactor system, containing aqueous rhodamine B, the enhancement of photo-catalytic degradation of rhodamine B was also significantly observed. The influence of bias potential applied during photoelectrocatalytic degradation process will be further discussed.

  • Sensitive Determination of Terbutaline Using a Platform Based on Nanoparticles of Europium Oxide and Carbon Nanotubes

    摘要: This study presents a sensitive voltammetric determination of terbutaline (TER) on a platform based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and europium oxide nanoparticles (Eu2O3NPs) coated glassy carbon electrodes (GCEs). An ultrasonic bath was performed for the preparation of composite material. The material was characterized by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction method (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The Eu2O3NPs/CNTs/GCE system was assessed for the oxidation of terbutaline (TER). A broad oxidation peak was appeared at 0.71 V using a bare GCE. However, the voltammetry of TER has been improved at a GCE coated with CNTs and a well-defined anodic peak exhibited at 0.61 V. Furthermore, the nanoparticles of Eu2O3 and CNTs coated GCE has greatly improved the electrochemical behaviour of TER and a sharp peak was appeared at 0.59 V. Cyclic voltammetry at Eu2O3NPs/CNTs/GCE also reveals a high catalytic effect for the oxidation of TER with an oxidation peak that is distinctly enhanced compared to GCE and CNTs/GCE. Eu2O3 nanoparticles were utilized to enhance the surface area of GCE and then improve the sensitivity of the procedure. The response of TER was linear over a concentration range of 2.0 3 10?8 M ?9.5 3 10?6 M with an LOD of 3.7 3 10?9 M. Square wave voltammetric analysis of tablets by Eu2O3NPs/CNTs/GCE yielded a recovery of 99.2 % with an RSD% of 3.2. The modified electrode (EuO2NPs/CNTs/GCE) provides accuracy and precision to the analysis of samples.

  • Microstructure and properties of honeycomb composite films containing Eu and Sn

    摘要: Honeycomb composite films were prepared by breath figure method via a straightforward, one-step process by doping complex containing Eu or Sn into polystyrene-b-poly(acrylic acid) (PS-b-PAA) solution. Several influencing factors, such as the concentration of the block polymer solution, the relative humidity of the environment and the amount of complexes, were investigated to control micropore size and tune film surface properties. The characteristics of the composite films were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet and emission spectra. Results indicate that composite films containing Eu have excellent optical performance, and micro-patterned bowl-like SnO2 microparticles could be fabricated from composite films containing Sn after being calcined at 600 °C for 5 h. This general approach for the fabrication of honeycomb composite films opens a convenient and effective route to the functional modification of honeycomb films and offers new prospects for the application in miniaturized sensors, micro-reactor and catalysis.
