  • Optimized Bent Part Coupling SiON Racetrack Resonators for Biological Sensing

    摘要: In this work, we investigate the optimized parameters of bent part coupling silicon oxynitride (SiON) micro racetrack optical resonators coupled to a straight waveguide, for an efficient design of label free biosensor devices. A systematic engineering of waveguide-resonator characteristics, for optimum geometry and field-overlap with analytes is proposed. Different parameters of system such as coupling, intrinsic and total quality factors of Qκ , Qi, and Qt, sensitivity (S) and figure of merit (F OM ) or intrinsic limit of detection (ILOD), are examined with interest of taking into account the dispersion effect in calculations. To the best of our knowledge, considering dispersion effect in calculations, has been proposed for the first time in bent part coupling racetrack resonator based biosensors. We have shown the effective role of dispersion on the best optimized parameters of the biosensors. These investigations result in high amounts of S (435 nm/RIU) and Qt (≥45000), simultaneously for the proposed biosensors. The devices have been optimized for operation at wavelength of 850 nm. The biosensing performance of our biosensor, is compared with lately reported theoretical and experimental investigations. Based on the ILOD calculations, performance of our sensor structure, is improved by a factor of 0.10 compared to a resonator based biosensor, reported lately.

  • Nonadiabatic Geometric Quantum Computation with Parametrically Tunable Coupling

    摘要: Nonadiabatic geometric quantum computation is promising as it is robust against certain types of local noises. However, its experimental implementation is challenging due to the need for complex control on multilevel and/or multiple quantum systems. Here, we propose to implement it on a two-dimensional square superconducting qubit lattice. In the construction of our geometric quantum gates, we only use the simplest and experimentally accessible control over the qubit states of the involved quantum systems, without introducing any auxiliary state. Specifically, our scheme is achieved by parametrically tunable all-resonant interaction, which leads to high-fidelity quantum gates. Meanwhile, this simple implementation can be conveniently generalized to a composite scenario, which can further suppress the systematic error during the gate operations. In addition, universal nonadiabatic geometric quantum gates in decoherence-free subspace can also be realized based on the tunable coupling between only two transmon qubits, without consulting multiple qubits and only using two physical qubits to encode a logical qubit. Therefore, our proposal provides a promising way to achieve high-fidelity geometric manipulation for robust solid-state quantum computation.

  • Heterogeneous photocatalyzed C-C cross-coupling reactions under visible-light and near-infrared light irradiation

    摘要: With the development of photocatalytic technology and organic synthesis chemistry, the photocatalyzed cross-coupling reaction provides one of the most attractive methodologies for the C-C bond formation and has been booming in recent years. The advantages of the heterogeneous photocatalyzed C-C cross-coupling reaction lie in its environment friendly, easily separated and conveniently recovered catalysts. In this review, we summarized and highlighted recent achievements of heterogeneous photocatalyzed C-C cross-coupling reactions through four aspects: visible light induced C-C cross-coupling reactions catalyzed by Pd supported semiconductor photocatalysts; visible light induced C-C cross-coupling reactions catalyzed by Pd based plasmonic photocatalysts; visible light induced C-C cross-coupling reactions catalyzed by palladium-free photocatalysts; near-infrared light induced C-C cross-coupling reactions.

    摘要: Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) utilizes MRI technology to indirectly measure neuronal activity. The most common form of fMRI uses the blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) contrast. It relies on the brain’s ability to locally modulate blood flow and volume to satisfy the increased energetic needs during neuronal activation. The relationship between increased local neural activity and changes in cerebral blood flow (CBF) is known as neurovascular coupling (or functional hyperemia). The correlation between BOLD signals and concomitantly recorded electrophysiological measures is well established, although the exact molecular mechanism remains unclear and its homogeneity throughout brain regions debated. Functional MRI allows imaging brain activations with a spatial resolution as low as a few hundreds of microns and with a temporal resolution of seconds.

  • The Novel W Parasitic Strip for the Circularly Polarized Microstrip Antennas Design and the Mutual Coupling Reduction between Them

    摘要: This paper presents a novel W shaped parasitic strip to design the circularly-polarized (CP) simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) antennas and reduce the mutual coupling (MC) between them. By disturbing the current fields and inducing the current distribution on the antenna patches, the CP radiation and MC reduction are achieved. The designed CP antennas have 30 MHz 10-dB impedance bandwidth, 16 MHz 3-dB AR bandwidth and approximate 5.08 dBic peak CP gain. This technique also reduce the MC from ?7 dB to ?50 dB when the antennas are placed with a 0.18 λ0 center-to-center distance and a 0.033 λ0 edge-to-edge distance, where λ0 is the free-space wavelength. When achieving the MC reduction, the antenna radiation pattern restores to that of the isolated antenna. Furthermore, the antenna CP gain and efficiency is improved comparing those of the antenna without the parasitic strip or the classic corner cut CP antenna.

  • Interference of bright solitons in harmonically trapped pseudo-spin polarization Bose-Einstein condensates

    摘要: We study interference behaviors between spin-orbit-coupled Bose-Einstein condensates confined in a harmonic trap. By solving the coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger equations in the real-time domain, interference properties of the pseudo-spin condensates are carefully investigated in different parameter regimes. We map out the role of the spin-orbit coupling, the energy detuning and relative phases during the collisions. It is also found that the spin-orbit coupling controls the population transfer between the condensates. The presentation of spin-orbit coupling enriches the dynamical process of the bright soliton interference.

  • Synthesis of Pyridazine Derivatives by Suzuki-Miyaura Cross-Coupling Reaction and Evaluation of Their Optical and Electronic Properties through Experimental and Theoretical Studies

    摘要: A series of π-conjugated molecules, based on pyridazine and thiophene heterocycles 3a–e, were synthesized using commercially, or readily available, coupling components, through a palladium catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction. The electron-deficient pyridazine heterocycle was functionalized by a thiophene electron-rich heterocycle at position six, and different (hetero)aromatic moieties (phenyl, thienyl, furanyl) were functionalized with electron acceptor groups at position three. Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations were carried out to obtain information on the conformation, electronic structure, electron distribution, dipolar moment, and molecular nonlinear response of the synthesized push-pull pyridazine derivatives. Hyper-Rayleigh scattering in 1,4-dioxane solutions, using a fundamental wavelength of 1064 nm, was used to evaluate their second-order nonlinear optical properties. The thienylpyridazine functionalized with the cyano-phenyl moiety exhibited the largest first hyperpolarizability (β = 175 × 10?30 esu, using the T convention) indicating its potential as a second harmonic generation (SHG) chromophore.

  • Application of experimental design and multivariate analysis in the on-line reaction monitoring of a Suzuki cross-coupling reaction by Raman spectroscopy and multivariate analysis

    摘要: A Suzuki-coupling reaction for the construction of CeC bond was monitored using Raman spectroscopy. The effects of temperature and concentration on the reaction yield were investigated following a central composite design. The percent yield for each data was measured off-line using GCeMS. On-line monitoring reactions using Raman spectroscopy coupled with partial least squares (PLS) were used for building a prediction model. Raman spectra collected from five experiments at different sampling times were used in building the model. The PLS model was then validated and results showed that the yield of reaction can be predicted well with high accuracy by the model, both within and outside the experimental limits. The results presented here have shown that such model is well suited for monitoring Suzuki-coupling reactions that are widely used in chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

  • Controlling Topological States in Topological/Normal Insulator Heterostructures

    摘要: We have performed a systematic investigation of the nature of the nontrivial interface states in topological/normal insulator (TI/NI) heterostructures. On the basis of first principles and a recently developed scheme to construct ab initio effective Hamiltonian matrices from density functional theory calculations, we studied systems of realistic sizes with high accuracy and control over the relevant parameters such as TI and NI band alignment, NI gap, and spin?orbit coupling strength. Our results for IV?VI compounds show the interface gap tunability by appropriately controlling the NI thickness, which can be explored for device design. Also, we verified the preservation of an in-plane spin texture in the interface-gaped topological states.

  • Hopping parameters for tunnel coupling in 2D materials

    摘要: Using Bardeen’s approach and orbital wave functions obtained by the algorithm of Herman and Skillman, we calculated interatomic matrix elements for tunnel interaction between the atoms from the set of B, C, N, Si, P, S, Ti, V, Se, Mo, Te and W, which constitute many 2D materials. In a wide range of interatomic distances, these values are approximated by simple functions with a small set of parameters. The results are presented in reference tables. These results will be useful for describing different tunnel phenomena in low-dimensional materials using the tight-binding approach.
