LED Arrays of Laser Printers as Valuable Sources of Electromagnetic Waves for Acquisition of Graphic Data
摘要: Classi?ed information may be derivable from unintended electromagnetic signals. This article presents a technical analysis of LED arrays used in monochrome computer printers and their contribution to unintentional electromagnetic emanations. Analyses were based on realistic type sizes and distribution of glyphs. Usable pictures were reconstructed from intercepted radio frequency (RF) emanations. We observed di?erences in the legibility of information receivable at a distance that we attribute to di?erent ways used by printer designers to control the LED arrays, particularly the di?erence between relatively high voltage single-ended waveforms and lower-voltage di?erential signals. To decode the compromising emanations required knowledge of—or guessing—printer operating parameters including resolution, printing speed, and paper size. Measurements were carried out across di?erences in construction and control of the LED arrays in tested printers.

Accelerator for Ultrafast Laser Serial Production
摘要: The world of serial applications has long been denied the possibility of ablation processes with ultrafast pulsed laser radiation due to high investment costs and low ablation rates. Nowadays, process scaling with advanced beam shaping technologies make use of the available high laser powers and therefore opens up possibilities for serial processing of individual components. But the exclusive focus on the main time of laser processing is not enough for a production system. Only the combined operation of handling systems, measurement technology, and process automation allow the ultrafast laser technology to spread further into volume markets.

IoT based photovoltaic monitoring system application
摘要: Solar photovoltaic (PV) system has become the greatest attraction in the clean, renewable electricity generation. However, the performance is varying due to various parameters and environmental conditions. Hence, a remote and real-time monitoring system is needed to assess its performance. Implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the monitoring of the solar PV system was proposed and its performance was studied. The system consists of data acquisition, data gateway, and smartphone application display. The data acquisition was successfully collect the data with 98.49% accuracy and was uploaded to the data gateway. The data gateway was able to send the graphical representation of the data to the smartphone application with a mean transmission time of 52.34 seconds. The results demonstrate that the proposed monitoring system can be a promising solution for intelligent remote and real-time monitoring of a solar PV system.

Impacts on the Output Power of Photovoltaics on Top of Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicles
摘要: This paper investigates the potential output power of a photovoltaic (PV) installation on top of battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). Firstly, we discuss the available area on the roof of BEVs and HEVs for deploying PV cells. Secondly, we verify the impact of the vehicles curved roof surface on the available output power of photovoltaics. More precisely, we present a method of calculating the effective area of PV cells, useful for PV simulation models and calculating the available output power of PV cells with different longitudinal angles. We verify our method within experiments and present the results of them, showing that the model predicts the output power of PV cells with an accuracy better than 2.5%. Furthermore, we discuss the impact of the curved surface and ambient conditions on possible interconnections of PV cells. Here, we present considerations for both, stationary and moving conditions, to highlight the dif?culties for interconnecting PV cells to form PV panels. From our experimental results, for frequent changes in the available solar radiation level, we can see a difference in terms of output power larger than 75% between series and parallel interconnections of PV cells.

A new control system for high-precision In-Gas Laser Ionization and Spectroscopy experiments at KU Leuven
摘要: A new automated control system is developed for the In-Gas Laser Ionization and Spectroscopy (IGLIS) laboratory at KU Leuven. The IGLIS Control System is capable of stabilizing a narrowband single-mode tunable diode laser with a standard deviation of 1.14 MHz. Furthermore, the system controls and synchronizes all data acquisition for multiple techniques from resonant laser spectroscopy in gas cell or in gas jet to atomic Planar-Laser Induced Fluorescence (PLIF) spectroscopy of copper atoms seeded in a supersonic gas jet. The IGLIS Control System is validated by measuring the hyperfine splitting parameters of the ground state transition at 327 nm in 63Cu.

On the application of bootstrapping to laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy data
摘要: The analysis of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) data heavily relies on statistical approaches. Recently, the application of another well-established statistical tool has started gaining prominence in LIBS analysis: bootstrapping. In the present work, we investigate the impact of bootstrapping on LIBS data collected by various data acquisition strategies and provide some insights into the application of this powerful statistical tool. We show that bootstrapping primarily affects the standard deviation of the recorded spectra, while barely affecting the mean values. This limits the applicability of bootstrapping to specific cases which are briefly discussed.

摘要: This paper investigates the potential output power of moving photovoltaic (PV) installations. In particular, we focus on the impacts of the solar radiation level on the available output power of PV installations on top of moving objects. We discuss the situation for controlling the operating voltage of photovoltaics installed on top of battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). We demonstrate that different longitudinal angles of PV cells due to curved roof surfaces and the fast slopes of the solar radiation level have a significant impact on the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm. We illustrate how the solar radiation level can reduce the efficiency of the MPPT algorithms.

摘要: the terahertz (THz) frequency range lies between the frequency range of radio and infrared. The development of suitable detectors, detection techniques, and sources for this frequency range has much interest over the past decade. THz pulses of sufficient strength that act as an excitation of dynamics in the matter have only been available, due to the development in 4th generation superconducting radiofrequency (SRF) technology. In the THz pump laser probe experiments the electric or magnetic field in the THz pump pulse acts as the excitation of dynamics in the matter. Ultra-short laser pulses then probe this dynamic in turn. In this contribution, we will outline the pulse-resolved data acquisition scheme of the TELBE user facility based on the characterization of a new class of accelerator-based light sources, which provide a unique combination of high pulse energies and high repetition rates.
