Calculation of the resonant frequency of a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna using perturbation theory
摘要: A theoretical investigation is carried out using the perturbation method to calculate the resonant frequency of a horizontally and vertically perturbed rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA). The accuracy of the proposed method is validated with the help of experimental and simulated data available in the existing literature, revealing that the calculated results are in good agreement with the available data. Compared with other numerical methods, the presented theory is easy to understand and can be implemented easily with the help of less complex equations. Furthermore, the perturbation provides greater ?exibility in antenna design, leading to a wide tuning range, and enhanced gain and bandwidth control compared with the unperturbed RDRA design.

摘要: In this paper, a novel Fractal Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna (FCDRA) is presented for Ultra-Wide Band applications is constructed by 300, 600, 1200 angular portion of cylinder with radius ratio (1:2:3). Stacking of Rogers 3010 (εr =10.2) and FR- 4 (εr =4.4) dielectric materials are used in proposed antenna for enhancement of the bandwidth. This fractal geometry offers 9.2 GHz operating bandwidth which spans from 3.6 GHz – 12.8 GHz. Proposed antenna attains maximum gain of 9.45 dBi with more than 89% efficiency which is suitable for satellite communication, WiMAX application. Hybrid Electromagnetic HE11δ, HE12δ modes are identified at 4.43 GHz & 8.31 GHz resonant frequencies respectively.

MULTI-BAND CYLINDRICAL DIELECTRIC RESONATOR ANTENNA USING PERMITTIVITY VARIATION IN AZIMUTH DIRECTION
摘要: A novel multi-band cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA) using microwave laminates with permittivity variation in azimuth direction fed by coaxial probe is proposed in this paper. The proposed structures are constructed using di?erent materials having di?erent permittivities in azimuth direction in cylindrical dielectric resonator (DR). In order to determine the performance of various design parameters on resonance frequency and bandwidth, parametric studies have been performed. The operating band can be scaled up or down by adjusting the design parameters. Dual-band and triple-band CDRAs have been fabricated using commercially available microwave laminates to validate the simulation results. For each case, the input re?ection coe?cient, radiation pattern and antenna gain are simulated and measured. Good agreement between simulated and measured results has been observed. The proposed antennas may be suitable for WLAN applications.
