摘要: Energy audits have the purpose of obtaining electricity savings that are consumed without affecting the level of comfort in humans who occupy a building. An energy audit was conducted Panti Rapih Hospital Yogyakarta, where the results of the auditor provided various energy-saving opportunities that could be realized to achieve efficient energy use. In 2017, Panti Rapih Hospital Yogyakarta has an Energy Consumption Intensity (ECI) value of 195.731 kWh/m2/ year or in the category of a bit wasteful. So that a detailed audit process is needed which includes measurements of lux (level of lighting) and room temperature based on provisions, measurement of building load profiles, and analyzing energy saving opportunities to be provided. Energy saving opportunities that are recommended are only 2 systems, namely lighting and air conditioning (AC). Energy-saving opportunities provided include reduction of tool operating hours, reduction in the number of devices, use of Arduino-based lamps and PIR sensors, use of electronic ballasts in TL lamp types, use of MC22 refrigerants, use of LED lights as a whole, design of hybrid power plants (solar cell and wind turbine), and the use of the latest type of air conditioner (AC) inverter and energy saving. The total savings in electrical energy consumption from the overall energy saving opportunity action is 1,373,480.24 kWh / year. So getting the new Energy Consumption Intensity (ECI) value to 143.612 kWh/m2/year or into the efficient category. So that it can be seen the value of Energy Consumption Intensity (ECI) after the opportunity to save energy to 143.612 kWh/m2/ year and come to the efficient standard category.

Technical analysis of photovoltaic energy generation for supplying the electricity demand in Brazilian dairy farms
摘要: In many Brazilian dairy farms, the supply of electrical energy does not fully meet the demands of the production systems and/or presents frequent fluctuations and interruptions, making the expansion of production chain unfeasible. These and other barriers have motivating the adoption of renewable and independent energy sources, installed directly in the farms. The present study was conducted to perform a technical analysis of photovoltaic energy generation required for supplying the electricity demand in dairy farms located at Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Daily global radiations on tilted panels were estimated by mathematical models and long-term meteorological database (greater than 33 years). Electrical energy generated by grid-connected photovoltaic systems was predicted considering minimum, average, and maximum daily global radiation conditions. Electrical energy demands were monitored in small (66 cows), medium (106 cows), and large (158 cows) dairy farms. The direct use of electrical energy in operations performed at Brazilian dairy farms were 4, 28, 15, 39, and 15%, on average, for lighting, milking, water heating/pumping, milk cooling/refrigeration, and miscellaneous, respectively. The estimated energy consumptions were 0.96, 0.87, and 0.81 kWh cow?1 day?1 for farms with 66, 106, and 158 cows, respectively. The photovoltaic panel area varied considerably among small, medium, and large dairy farms in order to meet 80% of renewable fraction for the electricity demand.

摘要: In this work, we present recent results on the hybrid integration of electro-optical organic materials in a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology. We review some of the identified challenges regarding process compatibility and present preliminary results on the integration of organic materials in a PIC technology using a 0.25 μm SiGe BiCMOS pilotline. Here, we are focusing on electro-optical applications towards high-speed modulators with ultra-low energy consumption.

Economic Sustainability Study of S?o Miguel Island in the Azores Using Photovoltaic Panels and Wind Turbines
摘要: Currently, the nine islands of the Autonomous Region of the Azores have fossil fuel power stations as their main source of electric power. Each island has an independent electrical system classified as an isolated micro-system, given its size and location. The goal of this study is to analyze the best set of technologies for a sustainable hybrid system. This study will be applied first on S?o Miguel to make the largest island of the archipelago 100% renewable. We will consider factors such as the island’s actual data production, economic scenarios, growth perspectives of consumption and reliability of supply.

摘要: We describe a novel dense wavelength-division multiplexed systems (DWDM) system where by introducing orthogonality between adjacent channels and by using overlapping arrayed waveguide grating filter profiles, laser transmitters may operate without the need for thermoelectric cooling. Compared with a traditional DWDM system, a power consumption saving of up to 68% may be realized using this scheme. Results of a proof-of-principle 100 Gb/s (10 × 10 Gb/s) experiments that use alternating NRZ and Manchester (CAP-2Q) modulation is reported.

Life cycle analysis for laser welding of alloys
摘要: Laser welding of AISI 304, Ti6Al4V, and Inconel 625 alloy was realized. The topological and metallurgical variations in the welded region are presented brie?y and life cycle analysis for the welding process due to each alloy is introduced. The analytical tools including optical and scanning electron microscopes are used to characterize the weld sections. The energy consumption during welding and the size of the welded sections are formulated using the lump parameter analysis. The energy consumption during welding and the geometric features of the weld sites is measured. The ?ndings are compared with those obtained from the lump parameter analysis. It is found that the energy consumption predicted and obtained from the measurements are in good agreement for the welding of each material. The prediction of the weld width from the lump parameter analysis di?ers from that of the measurements; however, the di?erences are within the acceptable limits. Because of the high pressure assisting gas e?ect and the local evaporation from the weld surface, some material is ablated from the top surface of the weld site. The gravitational and the surface tension forces result in the molten material extension from the bottom side of the welded zone. The laser welding of Inconel 625 alloy has the most contribution towards environmental destruction as compared to those of other materials welded. Consequently, the materials selection for the laser welding remains crucial for minimizing the environmental impact.

Experimental study on liquid desiccant regeneration by photovoltaic electrodialysis
摘要: Liquid desiccant regeneration is an important part of liquid desiccant air conditioning system and consumes the majority of the system’s power. Conventional methods for liquid desiccant regeneration use thermal energy to regenerate the liquid desiccant. One of the biggest problems for thermal regeneration is that the liquid desiccant should be cooled down before dehumidification. Furthermore, the efficiency for liquid desiccant regeneration drops under high temperature and humidity climates. In comparison, electrical regeneration, such as electrodialysis (ED), may solve the problems above. No phase change is involved in this process. In addition, low electrical energy is required and photovoltaic power is capable of proving the necessary energy. In this paper, the performance of liquid desiccant regeneration by photovoltaic electrodialysis (PV-ED) was experimentally investigated by considering two important factors, including the initial desiccant concentration and current intensity. The results showed that the initial desiccant concentration and current intensity had big impact on the performance of the system. Lower desiccant concentration and higher current intensity contributed to the current efficiency and solute transport, respectively. In addition, the energy consumption per unit solute migration increased with the increase of both current intensity and desiccant concentration. The results also indicated that the PV-ED regenerator performed better when the initial desiccant concentration was low and current intensity was high.

摘要: This paper presents a methodology for automatically estimating the energy consumption of buildings from aerial imagery using data from Gainesville, Florida. By detecting buildings in the imagery using convolutional neural networks and extracting features from those building annotations, we use only imagery-derived features to estimate building energy consumption using random forests regression. For individual buildings, we achieve a predictive R2 value of 0.26, and with spatial aggregation over an area of 400m×400m our predictive R2 value increases to 0.95. We also explore the sensitivity of these estimates to errors in the building estimation process. Our results indicate that information limited to the size and shape of buildings, provides substantial predictive potential for the energy consumption of buildings.
