  • Energy and exergy analysis of solar heat driven chiller under wide system boundary conditions

    摘要: In the paper, a solar driven ammonia-water chiller is investigated, as one of the systems having potential for reduction of resources depletion. An energy and exergy analysis is proposed for correct diagnostics while designing and operating the cycle. The boundary conditions for the analyses are set in accordance with Professor Szargut’s primary instructions. They are however widened to solar collector component. Solar radiation is treated as the driving energy or exergy, respectively. The analyses are supplemented with a sensitivity diagnosis revealing the most significant parameters modifying the efficiency and irreversibilities distribution. According to the findings, design COP of the chiller equals 0.444 while its net exergy efficiency is 0.026. Solar collector component is the most burdened with exergy destruction and loss in the whole cycle.

  • Exergy analysis of a solar organic Rankine cycle with square prismatic cavity receiver

    摘要: In this study, a solar organic Rankine cycle (ORC) was empirically modelled. A solar dish collector with a tubular cavity receiver was used as the ORC heat source. The effects of the solar irradiation, the depths of the cavity receiver, and the diameter of the inner cavity tube on the exergetic performance of the tubular cavity receiver were investigated. The exergy parameters such as the receiver exergy rate, the thermal exergy efficiency, the receiver exergy factor, and the electrical exergy efficiency were analysed. The results revealed that the optimum structure of the tubular cavity receiver for achieving the highest receiver exergy rate, thermal exergy efficiency, receiver exergy factor, and electrical exergy efficiency, was the cubical cavity (i.e., cavity depth equal to the side length of the cavity) with the smallest tube diameter.

  • Exergy Analysis of Two Kinds of Solar-Driven Cogeneration Systems in Lhasa, Tibet, China

    摘要: In this study, an exergy analysis of two kinds of solar-driven cogeneration systems consisting of solar collectors and an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) is presented for series mode and parallel mode. Three kinds of solar collectors are considered: ?at-plate collectors (FPC), evacuated tube collectors (ETC), and parabolic trough collectors (PTC). This study mainly compares the exergy output of the two kinds of solar cogeneration systems under di?erent temperatures of the return heating water and di?erent inlet temperatures of the solar collectors. This study shows that, from the perspective of Wnet or E?, the parallel mode is superior to the series mode. From the perspective of Ez, the parallel mode is superior to the series mode when the solar collector is FPC; however, the series mode is superior to the parallel mode when the solar collector is PTC. When the solar collector is ETC, the result depends on the temperature of the return heating water. When the temperature of the return heating water is low (below 46°C), the series mode is better, and when the temperature of the return heating water is high (above 46°C), the parallel mode is better.
