  • Single-Layer Dual-Band Balanced Substrate- Integrated Waveguide Filtering Power Divider for 5G Millimeter-Wave Applications

    摘要: A single-layer substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) filtering power divider (FPD) with fully differential operation at 28 and 39 GHz is proposed in this letter. This FPD consists of three SIW cavities where the differential and common modes of each cavity were properly designed to form three-pole dual passbands, facilitate deployment of isolation resistors, and introduce transmission zeros while attaining high in-band common-mode rejection. To improve the output return loss and isolation in dual bands, a novel and simple approach to find the proper location of isolation resistors is presented. At operating frequencies, the measured differential-mode input or output return loss, minimum insertion loss, isolation, and common-mode suppression are >14.1 dB, <(3 + 2.2) dB, >14.9 dB, and >30.3 dB, respectively. The amplitude and phase imbalances between outputs are <0.48 dB and <4.2?, respectively.

  • Wide-Band Filtering Three-Port Coupler with Inherent DC-Blocking Function

    摘要: This paper presents a novel wide-band filtering three-port coupler with inherent DC-blocking function, which is simply comprised of a power divider with wideband filtering function and a broadband phase shifter with a modified coupled line. For demonstration, a designed prototype operating at 3 GHz is simulated, fabricated, and measured. From the simulated and measured results, the coupler shows a 49% filtering bandwidth with 12-dB return loss and 90±5° phase shifting. The amplitude imbalance between the two output ports is less than 0.5 dB. The all-passband isolation is below -13 dB and the 25.7-dB upper stopband rejection is up to 5.4 GHz. The good agreement between the simulated and measured results validates the proposed idea. Hence, the proposed coupler is well suited for applications of wideband, filtering, and single-layer circuitry integration.

    摘要: In this paper, a wideband ?ltering power divider (PD) with ultra-wideband harmonic suppression and isolation is proposed. The dual coupled-line sections are embedded to the conventional quarter-wavelength transmission lines, which helps to extend the passband of the PD. With the introduction of the short-circuit stubs shunted at the output ports and the coupled lines with the open-circuit stubs, the ultra-wide stopband can be implemented more ef?ciently, thus resulting in ?ve transmission zeros from 2 to 6 GHz. Furthermore, the improved isolation structure with series connected a resistor and a capacitor can be utilized to realize the ultra-wide isolation frequency band. Using a single resistor between two output ports, we have achieved an excellent in-band isolation. For demonstration, a wideband ?ltering PD operating at 1 GHz with a 20-dB bandwidth of 50% and an ultra-wide stopband better than 20 dB from 2 to 6 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results agree well with the anticipation.

    摘要: A wideband substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filtering power divider (FPD) is presented in this paper. It works in the C band. The FPD used two SIW rectangular cavities and one half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) triangular cavity cascade and centered at 7.5GHz with fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 10.6%.The design parameters of the presented FPD are given and the simulated results are proposed with good expectations. This FPD meets the requirements for miniaturization and integration with other microwave circuits.

  • Novel Reconfigurable Single-to-Balanced, Power-Dividing, and Single-Ended Filter With Frequency and Bandwidth Control

    摘要: In this paper, a novel tunable ?lter with recon?gurable single-to-balanced (SE-BAL), power dividing (PD), and single-to-single-ended (SE) ?ltering functionalities is proposed, for the ?rst time, without any additional switching circuit. The proposed ?lter only consists of three stepped-impedance resonators, which are loaded and connected by varactors in between. With a very simple and compact con?guration, the proposed ?lter achieves multiple recon?gurable functionalities between SE-BAL ?ltering, PD ?ltering, and conventional SE bandpass ?ltering. Moreover, the recon?gurable SE-BAL, PD, and SE bandpass ?lter can not only offer continuously frequency tuning over a wide tuning range but also have independent bandwidth tuning and maintain good phase/amplitude balance in each tuning state. The proposed ?lter is designed and fabricated with the microstrip line technology; the measured results show that the SE-BAL, PD, and SE ?ltering functions can be continuously tuned from 1.02 to 1.32, 0.96 to 1.27, and 1 to 1.28 GHz, with 1-dB bandwidth tuning from 30 to 60, 30 to 110, and 70 to 130 MHz, respectively. The amplitude and phase imbalances of the SE-BAL and PD bandpass ?lter are less than 0.4 dB, 1.3° and 0.5 dB, 1.5°, respectively, in the passband of each tuning state. Good agreement was obtained between simulated and measured results.
