    摘要: Floodlighting designs have only been analysed in terms of visual and aesthetic beauty up to now. Research in the field of floodlighting has also focused on other aspects of this type of lighting in recent years. The energy efficiency issue and the impact on light pollution are the most crucial aspects. These issues have not yet been properly explored in the literature. Significant factors which affect the issue of the engineering aspect of floodlighting have to be determined and studied carefully because of their high importance. The main aim of this paper is to present the key factors which have a crucial impact on energy efficiency and light pollution in the field of floodlighting. These factors are: the direction and location of the lighting equipment, luminous intensity distribution, light output ratio, the method of floodlighting and the spectral power distribution of a light source, as well as the spectral distribution of the reflectance from the illuminated surface. Each of these factors are precisely commented on. These are presented by means of a calculation, a measurement or a visualization example, which clearly allow the crux of the problem to be analysed in the easiest way. The research shows that the problem of improving floodlighting design in respect of energy efficiency and light pollution is a complex and exacting problem for a lighting designer. It definitely requires the creation of an individual and unified system of assessment. It ought to take into account all the crucial factors and be simple, understandable and easy to use. Development of such a system is underway at the Lighting Technology Division of Warsaw University of Technology. It will soon be finalized in the form of a doctoral dissertation by one of the authors of this paper.

    摘要: The article presents a solution to the problem of work and time consuming of the objects floodlighting projects creation. Currently, the only technically correct methods for creating such projects are a three-dimensional computer simulation using photometric files of luminaires or field trials using real equipment. Both of these methods have their advantages, but also many disadvantages. Among architects, in turn, a popular method of floodlighting designing is graphic processing of daytime or evening images objects. The method is relatively fast and it gives photorealistic effects but it is technically incorrect. An architect or graphic designer creates a picture that is attractive to the eye, but usually has nothing to do with reality. This is due to the fact that the lighting parameters of both lighting equipment and analyzing this type of project in terms of technology are not taken into account. The article presents a solution to this problem. It describes a system created especially for this purpose based on a dedicated computer application that allows simulation of the object floodlighting using its daily photograph. This is technically correct simulation, because it uses photometric files of luminaires. The system allows correction of basic photometric parameters: editing of photometric files, luminous flux, light in different directions, color temperature and the use of color filters. The computer application also enables photo editing, geometric correction, measurement and defining reflection and transmission properties of materials from which the object is actually built. Full lighting analysis is also possible and is based on luminance and illuminance distributions generated in the false color scale and measurements in points and selected areas. The advantages, disadvantages and limitations of the developed system are presented.

    摘要: Photorealistic computer simulations are now a popular method of lighting design. They are usually associated with the illumination of objects, but they are also successfully used in interior lighting, especially representative lighting. The problem of the verifiability of the tool is often discussed and in which cases only visualization without purely analytical calculations can be used to evaluate the lighting design. The article presents both subjective and objective studies of conformity of a project made using photorealistic visualization and its subsequent implementation. Subjectively it means based on the comparison of simulation images made with different accuracy, with post-implementation photographs of these projects, objectively – on the basis of measurements of the luminance of the completed project and their reference to distributions previously generated by computer. The field measurements carried out as well as surveys have clearly shown that computer simulations in the form of raster images are a reliable design tool in the hands of a lighting designer. The future of the lighting design is also presented.
