  • CPW-Fed Triple High Rejection Notched UWB & X-Band Antenna on Silicon for Imaging & Wireless Applications

    摘要: In this paper, compact Coplanar Waveguide feed antenna covering UWB & X-Band signals (2.98GHz-13.34GHz) is presented. Antenna also offers triple notched band elimination (WiMAX: 3.40GHz-3.95GHz, WLAN: 4.50GHz-6.34GHz & Downlink Satellite System: 7.11GHz-7.802GHz) which are due to insertion of stub and etching of slots. Antenna is fabricated and characterized on silicon for imaging and wireless applications with having fractional bandwidth of 133%. The antenna offers gain, radiation efficiency and group delay between 3.26dBi-8.00dBi, 84%-92% and ≤ ±1.0ns respectively for the entire of its bandwidth. Isolation of antenna in face to face and side to side orientations are < -25dB with very less distortion presented in the transmission and reception of the signal. The radiations emitted by the antenna are observed as dipole like pattern in E-plane and omni-directional in H-plane.

  • Perfect metamaterial absorber with high fractional bandwidth for solar energy harvesting

    摘要: A new perfect metamaterial absorber (PMA) with high fractional bandwidth (FBW) is examined and verified for solar energy harvesting. Solar cells based on perfect metamaterial give a chance to increase the efficiency of the system by intensifying the solar electromagnetic wave that incident on the device. The designed structure is mostly offered in the visible frequency range so as to exploit the solar’s energy efficiently. Parametric investigations with regard to the measurements of the design structure are fulfilled to characterize the absorber. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method-based CST simulator was used to keep the pattern parameters and absorbance analysis. The metamaterial shows almost 99.96% and 99.60% perfect absorption at 523.84 THz and 674.12 THz resonance frequencies. Moreover, absorption’s FBW is studied, and 39.22% FBW is found. The results confirm that the designed PMA can attain very high absorption peak at two modes such as transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) mode. Other than the numerical outcomes demonstrated that the suggested configuration was also polarization angle insensitive. In addition, the change of absorbance of the structure has provided a new kind of sensor applications in these frequency ranges. Therefore, the suggested metamaterial absorber offers perfect absorption for visible frequency ranges and can be used for renewable solar energy harvesting applications.

    摘要: A wideband substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filtering power divider (FPD) is presented in this paper. It works in the C band. The FPD used two SIW rectangular cavities and one half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) triangular cavity cascade and centered at 7.5GHz with fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 10.6%.The design parameters of the presented FPD are given and the simulated results are proposed with good expectations. This FPD meets the requirements for miniaturization and integration with other microwave circuits.

    摘要: Waveguide-coupled THz photonic transmitters, which have novel design of dual-ridged horn antenna and ultra-fast photodiodes, demonstrate extremely wide 3-dB fractional O-E bandwidth (100%; 0.1-0.3 THz). A reasonable power (31.6 μW; 0.24 THz) can be detected in the receiving-end through wireless transmission.

  • A MINIATURIZED TUNABLE BANDPASS FILTER WITH CONSTANT FRACTIONAL BANDWIDTH

    摘要: This paper presents a miniaturized tunable bandpass ?lter, consisting of two coaxial dielectric resonators and a pair of parallel-coupled lines. A coaxial dielectric resonators and a microstrip line form a new step-impedance resonator (SIR), which is di?erent from a conventional SIR. Varactor diodes are connected to SIRs to tune the center frequency. The gap between parallel-coupled lines controls the inter-stage coupling coe?cient. Lumped inductors used for coupling to I/O ports can reduce design complexity. The variations of coupling coe?cient and external quality factor with tuning frequency are analyzed using HFSS software. A appropriate coupling coe?cient which satis?es with constant fractional bandwidth within the tuning range is available. A tunable ?lter has been made of dielectric ceramics with dielectric constant of 38, fabricated on dielectric substrate and measured using Networks analyzer. Center frequencies vary from 0.43 GHz to 0.78 GHz, 3 dB fractional bandwidth from 6.4% to 6.8% when bias voltages are applied from 0 V to 10 V. The measured results validate the approach and agree with the simulation.
