摘要: A single layer dual linear polarization Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) for automotive fully coated glass is presented. It acts as a band-pass ?lter for signals in the range of 640MHz to 3.3GHz. The performance of the proposed FSS element is assessed using CST Microwave Studio R(cid:2). Simulations show less than 10dB of attenuation all over the frequency band for an angle of incidence up to 70? in both polarizations. This promising result makes from the proposed FSS a good candidate to overcome the problem of connectivity of a handled device inside the vehicle to the mobile network.

摘要: A 140 GHz linear to circular polarization converter based on a frequency selective surface (FSS) with high selectivity is proposed and designed in this paper. The periodic element of the converter includes a square substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity and two cross slots with stubs etched on the top and bottom conductor claddings of the cavity. Based on the SIW cavity, a transmission pole is provided to improve passband characteristics and sideband selectivity. Besides, this THz converter can be easily fabricated using normal PCB process instead of compacted and high-cost technologies.

摘要: This work presents the design of a planar microwave absorber based on frequency selective surface (FSS). The absorber provides wide absorption bandwidth above the X-band. The proposed design consists of a single-layer FSS over a ground plane. The unit cell of the FSS is a miniaturized form of a rectangular loop structure made of perfect electric conductor (PEC). For absorption, lumped resistive elements are inserted on the four sides of the loop. The designed is modeled and analyzed using a commercial full-wave package and the absorption mechanism is explained by an equivalent circuit. Through simulations, the absorption bandwidth obtained for the proposed design is between 14.2-30.3 GHz. The angular stability of the proposed design is also analyzed and it is found be stable for 45o and 30o in TE and TM modes, respectively.

摘要: The equivalent circuit model is used to analyze the actual structure of the multilayer frequency selective surface absorbing. The transmission line model and equivalent impedance are provided for the transmissivity of electro- magnetic waves. The results are validated by comparison with the Ansoft HFSS. In addition, the in?uences of different parameters are discussed. It is found that such a multilayer absorbing material has a good tenability and independence for the absorption frequency.This can be used to design absorbing material for different requirements.

摘要: This work investigates the performance of a low-pass frequency selective surface (FSS) fabricated from perforated hole array on a copper plate for the use in a dual-band high power gyro-multiplier. The output beam from the high power gyro-multiplier contains signals at two separating bands carrying peak power up to 2 kW. The frequency separating components therefore are required to stand high power and produce low insertion loss. Metallic perforated array is an ideal option to meet these requirements. Considering the fabrication accuracy, low-pass FSS is selected. The fabrication of the low-pass FSS is based on precision milling technology. The performance of the FSS is evaluated using a terahertz time domain spectroscopy.

摘要: A hybrid method based on Ray Tracing and Physical Optics for the estimation of the radar cross section of large metallic targets covered with radar absorbing materials is presented. The reflection coefficient of the multilayer structure composed by the metallic layer covered with radar absorbing materials is analytically evaluated through a transmission line model. The accuracy of the Radar Cross Section estimation is validated by full-wave simulations based on the Method of Moments. A corner reflector coated with Radar Absorbing Material (RAM) is used as a test-case of the proposed method. The obtained results exhibit a good agreement if compared against full-wave simulations.

Synthetic Aperture Radar Target Feature Modulation Using Active Frequency Selective Surface
摘要: Target feature control on the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image using the passive way is a challenging task in the field of SAR jamming. The conventional passive jamming devices such as corner reflectors and chaffs cannot achieve the flexible modulation of SAR target feature duo to their fixed scattering cross section. As a passive material, active frequency selective surface (AFSS) can dynamically control their electromagnetic characteristics and has been widely applied in the radar target stealth field. In this paper, a target feature modulation method based on AFSS is proposed against SAR. The method intermittently switches the scattering intensity of AFSS material and imposes periodic or random code amplitude modulation onto the radar signal. As a consequence, multi-false targets with verisimilar characteristics or cross-shaped areas are formed when modulated signal is received and processed by the victim SAR. Thus the protected target is difficult to detect and identify by SAR system. Microwave anechoic chamber experiments and measured SAR data simulations with different modulating parameters are separately conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Design and Validation of Flexible Multilayer Frequency Selective Surface with Transmission Zeros
摘要: The design, analysis and validation of a flexible multilayer frequency selective surface (MFSS) with two transmission zeros at the upper side of the passband is presented. The multilayer FSS unit cell is composed of two metallic quasi-Jerusalem-cross patterns on the top and the bottom layers, a metallic slot coupling aperture on the middle layer, and two flexible polyimide-teflon supported substrates. The equivalent circuit is derived to explain the principle of transmission poles and zeros. This MFSS exhibits good resonance stability for different polarization and incident angles. A prototype flexible MFSS centered at 21.6 GHz is fabricated and measured, which shows an insertion loss of 1.3 dB and a fractional bandwidth of 15.7%. The stable performances of the MFSS at oblique incidences and under different bent conditions for TE and TM polarization are demonstrated as well.

WIDEBAND FREQUENCY SELECTIVE SURFACE WITH A SHARP BAND EDGE BASED ON MUSHROOM-LIKE CAVITY
摘要: A wideband frequency selective surface (FSS) with a sharp band edge is proposed. The periodic cell includes a mushroom-like cavity and four L-type slots etched on the top and bottom conductor claddings of the cavity. The measured results show that the proposed FSS operates at X band with a 12.5% bandwidth (7.85–8.90 GHz), in which the insertion loss is less than 3 dB. Comparing with the FSSs based on substrate integrated waveguide cavity, the proposed FSS not only realizes high selectivity, but also realizes a 55.8% reduction in cell size.

CHARACTERISATION OF COPPER NANOPARTICLE INK PRINTED FSS FOR CELLULAR SIGNALS SUPPRESSION
摘要: This paper proposes a copper nanoparticle ink printed frequency selective surface (FSS) for cellular signals suppression. The FSS pattern is deposited on a polyimide film by using an inkjet printing technique. The printed FSS elements undergo the post-processing called sintering, where the optimum exposure duration and temperature are determined in order to form a conductive path across the metal pattern. Later, the conductivity of the printed FSS structure deposited on polyimide film is observed. The signal suppression ability of the printed FSS is conducted using the Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio software.
