  • Optoelectronic and photocatalytic properties of zinc sulfide nanowires synthesized by vapor-liquid-solid process

    摘要: Zinc sul?de (ZnS) is a wide band-gap semiconductor with excellent optoelectronic properties suitable for photo-sensing devices and photocatalysts. Herein, the ZnS nanowires (ZnS NWs) have been successfully synthesized using thermal evaporation based on vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) method. From the examinations of photosensing device under ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation, the photocurrent gain (Pg), responsivity (Rλ), response time and recovery time are 0.572, 2.761 mW/cm2, 3.2 s and 3.6 s, respectively. As to photocatalytic activity for methylene blue (MB), the apparent rate coe?cient (K) of ZnS NWs is 9.78 × 10?3 (min?1). Although ZnS NWs-based photodetector cannot be workable under ultraviolet A (UVA) irradiation, with referring to recent medical literatures, UVB radiation is the major environmental risk factor for developing human skin cancer, the most common cancer worldwide. Thus, the most important contribution in this work is that the ZnS NWs-based UVB radiation-oriented photodetector has been successfully demonstrated via a simple process.

  • Optimal tone detection for optical fibre vector hydrophone

    摘要: An optimal tone detector based on the Neyman–Pearson criterion is proposed for the optical fibre vector hydrophone (OFVH). The detector takes account of the difference between noise levels on the acoustic pressure channel and the three particle acceleration channels of an OFVH. Explicit expressions for the impulse responses of pre-filters that are central to the proposed detector are given. Analyses show that the proposed detector is equivalent to the minimum variance distortionless response beamformer for the OFVH. In the case of identical noise on all particle acceleration channels, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain of the detector is 10lg(1 + μ) dB (μ is the noise power ratio of OFVH channels at the tone frequency), whereas the SNR gain also depends on target direction and is bounded by 10lg(1 + μmin) and 10lg(1 + μmax) dB when noise on all particle acceleration channels are different. Results from both simulations and lake experiment data show that the proposed detector outperforms tone detectors that use (i) the acoustic pressure signal, (ii) the particle acceleration signals and (iii) equally the combination of acoustic pressure signal and particle acceleration signals.

    摘要: In this paper, a pyramid horn antenna is design for millimeter wave radar. The antenna is completely machined out by 3D printing technology, which comprises a horn antenna and a flange with a total size of 25mm × 20mm × 50mm. Its bandwidth can cover W-band(75GHz-110GHz), and its gain is basically greater than 22dBi in the working band. Besides, the horn antenna has an advantage to achieve an excellent direction.
