Overcoming Individual Discrepancies, a Learning Model for Non-Invasive Blood Glucose Measurement
摘要: Non-invasive Glucose Measurement (NGM) technology makes great sense for the blood glucose management of patients with hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. Individual Discrepancies (IDs), e.g., skin thickness and color, not only block the development of NGM, but also become the reason why NGM cannot be widely used. To solve this problem, our solution is designing an individual customized NGM model that can measure these discrepancies through multi-wavelength and tune parameters for glucose estimating. In this paper, an NGM prototype is designed, and a learning model for glucose estimating with automatically parameters tuning based on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Random Forest (RF) is presented. The clinic trial proves that the correlation coefficient between estimation and reference Blood Glucose Concentration (BGC) can reach 0.5 after merely 10 times of learning, and rise to 0.8 after about 60 times of learning.

Geometrical self-testing of partially entangled two-qubit states
摘要: Quantum nonlocality has recently been intensively studied in connection to device-independent quantum information processing, where the extremal points of the set of quantum correlations play a crucial role through self-testing. In most protocols, the proofs for self-testing rely on the maximal violation of the Bell inequalities, but there is another known proof based on the geometry of state vectors to self-test a maximally entangled state. We present a geometrical proof in the case of partially entangled states. We show that, when a set of correlators in the simplest Bell scenario satisfies a condition, the geometry of the state vectors is uniquely determined. The realization becomes self-testable when another unitary observable exists on the geometry. Applying this proven fact, we propose self-testing protocols by intentionally adding one more measurement. This geometrical scheme for self-testing is superior in that, by using this as a building block and repeatedly adding measurements, a realization with an arbitrary number of measurements can be self-tested. Besides the application, we also attempt to describe nonlocal correlations by guessing probabilities of distant measurement outcomes. In this description, the quantum set is also convex, and a large class of extremal points is identified by the uniqueness of the geometry.

Polarization-independent hybrid plasmonic coupler based on T-shaped slot waveguide
摘要: In this paper, a novel polarization-independent hybrid plasmonic coupler based on a T-shaped slot waveguide is proposed and investigated by numerical simulations using the finite element method. The structure supports both the TE-polarized slot waveguide mode and the TM-polarized plasmonic mode, offering a greater possibility to achieve the polarization-independent operation. The simulation results show that with proper structural parameters, the waveguide coupler with high extinction ratios of 31.2 dB (TE) and 30 dB (TM) and low insertion losses of 0.38 dB (TE) and 2.04 dB (TM) can be achieved at a telecommunication wavelength of 1550 nm. An investigation of the influence of structural perturbations indicates that the proposed coupler also has a good tolerance to fabrication errors. The proposed structure has potential applications in the field of subwavelength integrated photonic circuits.

摘要: This paper presents an independent operation of the rotor-side converter (RSC) and grid-side converter (GSC) for a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind energy conversion system under unbalanced grid voltage conditions. In this paper, the RSC is controlled to achieve four different control targets, including balanced stator current, sinusoidal rotor current, smooth stator active and reactive powers, and constant DFIG electromagnetic torque. The GSC is commanded to keep the dc voltage at a constant value. Additional feedback compensators using resonant regulators for the RSC are employed, and the decompositions of the positive and negative sequence components and calculations of the rotor negative current references can be avoided. Another similar compensator is used in the GSC to suppress the dc voltage ?uctuates and remove the GSC reactive power oscillations without the stator or rotor power information. The proposed method can make the RSC and GSC available to an independent operation with a simple implementation for higher reliability. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy for both the RSC and GSC under unbalanced grid voltage conditions.

摘要: The three-terminal heterojunction bipolar transistor solar cell (HBTSC) concept enables the realization of a monolithic double-junction device with individual current extraction. We present an HBTSC realized by a heterojunction of GaInP and GaAs. The one-sun open-circuit voltage (VOC ) of the top and bottom junctions are 1.33 V and 0.99 V, respectively, while ?ll factors (FF) are above 80%. At one-sun illumination, reducing one junction’s bias from VOC to maximum power point degrades the performance of the other junction only slightly (< 0.5% ef?ciency loss). These results demonstrate the potential of the HBTSC concept to produce high-ef?ciency independently connected double-junction solar cells.

摘要: This paper addresses the determined blind source separation problem and proposes a new effective method unifying independent vector analysis (IVA) and nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF). IVA is a state-of-the-art technique that utilizes the statistical independence between sources in a mixture signal, and an efficient optimization scheme has been proposed for IVA. However, since the source model in IVA is based on a spherical multivariate distribution, IVA cannot utilize specific spectral structures such as the harmonic structures of pitched instrumental sounds. To solve this problem, we introduce NMF decomposition as the source model in IVA to capture the spectral structures. The formulation of the proposed method is derived from conventional multichannel NMF (MNMF), which reveals the relationship between MNMF and IVA. The proposed method can be optimized by the update rules of IVA and single-channel NMF. Experimental results show the efficacy of the proposed method compared with IVA and MNMF in terms of separation accuracy and convergence speed.

Experimental demonstration of one-sided device-independent self-testing of any pure two-qubit entangled state
摘要: We demonstrate one-sided device-independent self-testing of any pure two-qubit entangled state based on a fine-grained steering inequality. The maximum violation of a fine-grained steering inequality can be used to witness certain steerable correlations, which certify all pure two-qubit entangled states. Our experimental results identify which particular pure two-qubit entangled state has been self-tested and which measurement operators are used on the untrusted side. Furthermore, we analytically derive the robustness bound of our protocol, enabling our subsequent experimental verification of robustness through state tomography. Finally, we ensure that the requisite no-signaling constraints are maintained in the experiment.

摘要: The main type of obstacles of practical applications of quantum key distribution (QKD) network are various attacks on detection. Measurement-device-independent QKD (MDIQKD) protocol is immune to all these attacks, and thus, a strong candidate for network security. Recently, several proof-of-principle demonstrations of MDIQKD have been performed. Although novel, those experiments are implemented in the laboratory with secure key rates less than 0.1 b/s. Besides, they need manual calibration frequently to maintain the system performance. These aspects render these demonstrations far from practicability. Thus, justification is extremely crucial for practical deployment into the field environment. Here, by developing an automatic feedback MDIQKD system operated at a high clock rate, we perform a field test via deployed fiber network of 30 km total length achieving a 16.9 b/s secure key rate. The result lays the foundation for a global quantum network, which can shield from all the detection-side attacks.

Modular Synthesis of Waveguide Bandpass Filters Using Dual-Mode Resonators
摘要: We present a new decomposition approach for dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) called SIRZ that provides precise and accurate material description, independent of the scanner, over diagnostic energy ranges (30 to 200 keV). System independence is achieved by explicitly including a scanner-specific spectral description in the decomposition method, and a new X-ray-relevant feature space. The feature space consists of electron density, and a new effective atomic number, which is based on published X-ray cross sections. Reference materials are used in conjunction with the system spectral response so that additional beam-hardening correction is not necessary. The technique is tested against other methods on DECT data of known specimens scanned by diverse spectra and systems. Uncertainties in accuracy and precision are less than 3% and 2% respectively for the results compared to prior methods that are inaccurate and imprecise (over 9%).

Quantum dot exciton dephasing by Coulomb interaction: A fermionic analog of the independent boson model
摘要: The time evolution of a quantum dot exciton in Coulomb interaction with wetting layer carriers is treated using an approach similar to the independent boson model. The role of the polaronic unitary transform is played by the scattering matrix, for which a diagrammatic, linked cluster expansion is available. Similarities and differences to the independent boson model are discussed. A numerical example is presented.
