Multi-objective optimization of a solar assisted heat pump-driven by hybrid PV
摘要: The role of renewable energy sources becomes more and more important in modern times. Solar energy utilization in the building sector is one attractive solution for covering heating and electricity needs. In this direction, the investigation of a solar heating-electricity production system ideal for building applications is investigated in this study. This cogeneration system includes hybrid PV (or PV/T) collectors and a heat pump which is driven totally (heat and electricity) by the solar collector. The system is designed properly in order to produce net electricity production except for the need of the heat pump. This system is optimized using an innovative multi-objective procedure with heating and electricity production as the objective functions. The optimization is performed in steady-state conditions for seven different working fluids in the heat pumps. The optimum design points for all the working fluids are compared and finally, R32 is selected as the most suitable choice with R1234yf to be the second one. In the optimum design conditions, 10 m2 of hybrid PV collector are able to feed the heat pump and finally 4.33 kWth of heating and 0.53 kWel of net electricity to be produced. The next step in this study is the investigation of the system with R32 for all the winter period in the climate conditions of Athens (Greece). Six different typical days (one for every month from November to April) are examined and the final results are given. For January, which is a representative winter month, it is found that the daily heating and electricity production is 34.9 kWh and 5.13 kWh respectively. Moreover, the mean daily energy efficiency is found 60.53% while the exergy 9.26% for this month.

Design and characterization of the non-uniform solar flux distribution measurement system
摘要: It is important to accurately measure the solar flux distribution on the heated surface for the utilization of solar energy. To this end, in this paper a new measurement system was proposed to measure the solar flux distribution of the absorber tube surface by taking advantage of the end loss effect. The new measurement system does not disturb the collected lights path and influence the operation of the solar collector. The solar flux distribution at different angles can be measured with a few number of heat flux gage by rotating the proposed solar flux measurement system. Compared with existing measurement techniques, the proposed solar flux measurement system has distinct advantages such as simple structure, flexible and reliable operation and easy application. An experimental platform was designed and constructed, and the solar flux distributions on the outer surface of the absorber under different conditions are measured. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed measurement method are validated by comparing the experiment results and the numerical simulation results.

IoT-Enabled Light Intensity-Controlled Seamless Highway Lighting System
摘要: Geotechnical investigation is essentially a process of information acquisition, analysis, and application. Informatization is an attractive way to improve the efficiency of geotechnical investigation. Typical approaches divide the process of geotechnical investigation into isolated stages and only focus on the local informatization of the entire process. This leads to limitations in the improvement of geotechnical investigation efficiency, misuse of geotechnical data, and interpreted results that are incorrect. Therefore, a work flow and operational mode to address the informatization throughout the overall process of geotechnical investigation is particularly important in developing a software designed for efficient and precise geotechnical investigations. In this paper, we design a work flow and operational mode for geotechnical investigation based on a geotechnical BIM model and database. Within this work flow, the construction of a 3-D geotechnical information model and BIM-based database is taken as the main line. The constantly updated model and the database are the platform for working and analysis. As this strategy can link every stage in the whole process of geotechnical investigation, all the work can be done based on the BIM model and database in a 3-D environment, so improvement in the overall efficiency of geotechnical investigation is possible. Furthermore, the integrative center combined by the BIM model and database is targeted to reduce data errors, data conversions, and the abstractness of geotechnical data, which can improve the interpreted accuracy of these data. Finally, we use the process of geotechnical investigation at a hydropower station for experimental studies to verify the proposed work flow and operational mode. The result shows that it is feasible to design the software for an efficient and more accurate geotechnical investigation based on the proposed work flow and operational mode.

Forensic Analysis - From Death to Justice || Usage of Infrared-Based Technologies in Forensic Sciences
摘要: Infrared (IR) radiation comprises a beam located in the electromagnetic radiation family; it arises from the thermal vibrations of radiation that have longer wavelengths than visible light, but shorter wavelengths than microwave radiation. Its wavelength is between 750 nm and 1 mm. The amount of thermal IR radiation emitted by an object is associated with the temperature of the object, the surface area of the object and the spreading of light. IR-based technologies have been demonstrated as a method of evidence identification in forensic sciences in addition to many daily uses. The combination of IR-based spectrophotometry with several techniques ushered in a new era in crime scene investigations and the identification of evidence obtained from crime scenes. Furthermore, the use of IR-based photography techniques has significant advantages. IR fluorescent automated DNA sequencer and thermal analyser for deception detection are other techniques that take advantage of IR technology. In this chapter, we aimed to present the IR-based technologies used in forensic sciences and forensic photography techniques to define the current situation, the importance and the advantages of IR thermal imaging among these techniques, as well as to describe the operating principles of IR thermal imaging technologies that may be generated in the future based on this technique.

摘要: Digital evidence is increasingly used in juridical proceedings. In some recent legal cases, the verdict has been strongly in?uenced by the digital evidence proffered by the defense. Digital traces can be left on computers, phones, digital cameras, and also on remote machines belonging to ISPs, telephone providers, companies that provide services via Internet such as YouTube, Facebook, Gmail, and so on. This paper presents a methodology for the automated production of predetermined digital evidence, which can be leveraged to forge a digital alibi. It is based on the use of an automation, a program meant to simulate any common user activity. In addition to wanted traces, the automation may produce a number of unwanted traces, which may be disclosed upon a digital forensic analysis. These include data remanence of suspicious ?les, as well as any kind of logs generated by the operating system modules and services. The proposed methodology describes a process to design, implement, and execute the automation on a target system, and to properly handle both wanted and unwanted evidence. Many experiments with different combinations of automation tools and operating systems are conducted. This paper presents an implementation of the methodology through VBScript on Windows 7. A forensic analysis on the target system is not suf?cient to reveal that the alibi is forged by automation. These considerations emphasize the difference between digital and traditional evidence. Digital evidence is always circumstantial, and therefore it should be considered relevant only if supported by stronger evidence collected through traditional investigation techniques. Thus, a Court verdict should not be based solely on digital evidence.

Brain sensor and communication model using plasmonic microring antenna network
摘要: In this paper, the feasibility of using multi-plasmonic sensing probes embedded nanoring resonators within a microring resonator system for brain signal probing and the investigation proposed. The plasmonic sensor probes made of gold grating placed within the center nanorings, from which the sensor network of the coupling light from the multi-plasmonic probes to the main ring established. The coupling between light (photon) power and nano-gold grating generate the plasmonic polariton dipoles and propagate within the system. The whispering gallery mode generates at the center rings, which will couple into the sensor probes and the induced change in optical signals that can detect via the system ports. The coupling between the generated polaritons and external stimuli from the sub-brain cells will change the optical output signals, where the electro-optic signal conversion can be applied. In manipulation, the changes in the grating periods of the sensing probes will affect the changes in the output signals, which can distinguish by the sensing probe signal Bragg wavelengths. The optical filter applied at each of the device port to attenuate the output signal that can be applied for brain investigation. The simulation results have shown that the low output power can detect for sub-level investigation.

摘要: In recent years, the migration of the computational workload to computational clouds has attracted intruders to target and exploit cloud networks internally and externally. The investigation of such hazardous network attacks in the cloud network requires comprehensive network forensics methods (NFM) to identify the source of the attack. However, cloud computing lacks NFM to identify the network attacks that affect various cloud resources by disseminating through cloud networks. In this paper, the study is motivated by the need to ?nd the applicability of current (C-NFMs) for cloud networks of the cloud computing. The applicability is evaluated based on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) to outlook the cloud network. To the best of our knowledge, no research to date has been conducted to assist network forensics investigators and cloud service providers in ?nding an optimal method for investigation of network vulnerabilities found in cloud networks. To this end and in this paper, the state-of-the-art C-NFMs are classi?ed and analyzed based on the cloud network perspective using SWOT analysis. It implies that C-NFMs have a suitable impact on cloud network, which further requires for reformation to ensure its applicability in cloud networks.
