    摘要: Floodlighting designs have only been analysed in terms of visual and aesthetic beauty up to now. Research in the field of floodlighting has also focused on other aspects of this type of lighting in recent years. The energy efficiency issue and the impact on light pollution are the most crucial aspects. These issues have not yet been properly explored in the literature. Significant factors which affect the issue of the engineering aspect of floodlighting have to be determined and studied carefully because of their high importance. The main aim of this paper is to present the key factors which have a crucial impact on energy efficiency and light pollution in the field of floodlighting. These factors are: the direction and location of the lighting equipment, luminous intensity distribution, light output ratio, the method of floodlighting and the spectral power distribution of a light source, as well as the spectral distribution of the reflectance from the illuminated surface. Each of these factors are precisely commented on. These are presented by means of a calculation, a measurement or a visualization example, which clearly allow the crux of the problem to be analysed in the easiest way. The research shows that the problem of improving floodlighting design in respect of energy efficiency and light pollution is a complex and exacting problem for a lighting designer. It definitely requires the creation of an individual and unified system of assessment. It ought to take into account all the crucial factors and be simple, understandable and easy to use. Development of such a system is underway at the Lighting Technology Division of Warsaw University of Technology. It will soon be finalized in the form of a doctoral dissertation by one of the authors of this paper.

    摘要: The aim of this work is to determine the possibility of using an automated Skywatcher system to analyze luminance distributions on selected surfaces, such as ceilings, walls, etc. The paper presents luminance distribution of the wall and ceiling surfaces of a classroom, using a typical luminance meter cooperating with the Skywatcher system. The use of a matrix luminance meter was also analyzed and compared with Skywatcher system. The results obtained were compared with numerical calculations in DIALux and Relux software.

    摘要: The article evaluates the possibility of using halogen lamps, compact fluorescent lamps and LED lamps as direct substitutes of traditional 100 W incandescent lamps for selected residential lighting applications. A single halogen lamp, six compact fluorescent lamps and six LED light sources were examined. A traditional light bulb was also examined for comparison. All lamps operated in three luminaires. The basic evaluation criterion was the illuminance, uniformity and glare limitation in the place of work. It was found that not all light sources can be considered substitutes of traditional light bulbs. In the case of a luminaire made from a translucent material and one luminaire with a reflector, not all lamps allowed to obtain at least the same lighting parameters in the place where visual work was performed, as when a traditional light bulb was used.

    摘要: The use of camera and security systems has been becoming a standard part of facilities equipment. Companies protect their property against potential damage and theft and also want to have information about who, when and where was located. These systems are especially used to protect strategic objects whose threat or destruction would have an obvious impact on a society. This group of buildings clearly includes electric stations where the eventual shutdown or destruction would result in a power outage in the regions or a total blackout of the whole country. Therefore, when designing security and camera systems, consideration should be given to all possibilities of space disturbance and to designing the system so that any intruder can be detected in time. In this paper, we will deal in detail with the watchdog lighting system of an electric station that works together with camera systems TSFO. At the very beginning, the right choice of security cameras is essential - they should have a sufficient sensitivity and a resolution to detect objects properly in both day and night hours. The designing of a watchdog lighting system is necessary for the camera system TSFO to work reliably and to provide expected information. The watchdog lighting system is designed with respect to the position and height of the monitoring cameras and by this calculation is set the height of the luminaires, their pitch and the appropriate type and power of the luminaire. At present, most of the lighting systems are provided by LED lights, which, compared to the high-pressure sodium lamps, have many benefits, mainly in the wide range of luminance curve characteristics. The subject of this article is a measuring of watch lighting system in the site of the electric station TR ?echy st?ed, which uses high-pressure sodium lamps for watchdog lighting system as well as the design of optimization of this lighting system by using LED luminaires capable of distributing lighting component throughout the whole range of the monitored area between the lighting points.

The main part of the article refers to the issue of taking measurements of luminance distribution on the roads. The measurements taken on the expressway were presented and probable causes of differences between the results of the project and results of the measurements were described.

    摘要: Road luminaires are improving visual comfort during the night driving which has impact on road safety. Properly designed luminaires are also able to meet the standard requirements for its high energy efficiency. In this research it was checked how the measurement accuracy of luminaire luminous intensity distribution curve are impact on accuracy of road lighting calculations. The calculations were performed for several typical road luminaires. Based on this research it was found that programs supporting the lighting design calculation process gives more realistic results when the luminaire has accurately determined luminous intensity distribution curve.

  • Advances in automotive interior lighting concerning new LED approach and optical performance

    摘要: Automotive interior lighting has to follow general trends in lighting and will therefore evolve toward hundreds and even thousands of RGB LEDs per car. Creating mood at day and night, pixelated sign-like information, and theater-like effects like welcome and goodbye messages are examples for outstanding user experience. Furthermore, safety features such as warnings and driving state are a must for autonomous cars. It requires new concepts for the whole interior lighting system to reach premium quality such as data rate (beyond today's bus standard for lighting), support for safety rules, compensation of temperature effects, daylight performance (including huge dimming range for night drive), uniformity in terms of luminance and color along the light guide, and mixing of red, green, and blue (RGB) with white. We report a new automotive RGB light-emitting diode (LED) system that fulfills the above requirements and saves effort as well as cost by calibration before integration. Extensive studies were performed for daylight threshold evaluation with subjects and methods for judging on uniformity for direct-lit RGB light guides based on the contrast sensitivity function and Gaussian fit of the LED luminance profile.

Power-over-Ethernet(PoE) standard delivers power and data via a Ethernet cable from a power source such as a hub directly to the network port of a connected powered device, in the case of lighting the powered device can be a LED bulb.In this paper the concept of energy ef?cient LED lighting using PoE technology is discussed in brief.The bene?ts PoE technology provides and challenges that needs to be addressed are highlighted.

  • Tunable spectrum resemblance of LED lights for improving the photosynthetic action of Chinese Cabbages

    摘要: To increase efficiency, and reduce energy loss and waste, we propose to improve the photosynthetic action spectrum resemblance (SRPAS) of LED light with the absorption spectra of the fresh leaf, for accelerating the growth of Chinese Cabbages. Eight spectral LED lights were adopted to irradiate Chinese Cabbages under 150 μmol·m-2·s-1 for a 16 hd-1 photoperiod. Of these, under the irradiation of blue + broad red + more yellow (BRY2) light with high spectrum resemblance of 75%, the fresh weight and dry weight are 5.1times and 3.0 times, respectively, and the leaf area and leaf number are 1.7 times, as high as under the blue light. The results demonstrate that the optimized LED light can be presumed to have the highest spectrum resemblance (SRPAS) with the absorption spectra of Chinese Cabbages, and the highest energy-conversion efficiency. These conclusions may be of great benefit to further assess and find either an ideal light applied for plant growth or design of better light sources for growing different plants.
