Cargo logistics for a notional mars base using Solar Electric Propulsion
摘要: The current aim of NASA’s Journey to Mars is a stepwise approach towards landing humans on the Red Planet, culminating in a sustained presence. There are many recent studies on how this could be achieved in an evolvable and affordable manner. Most architectures begin with crewed missions to Phobos or Mars orbit in the mid-2030’s, progress toward short-stay missions on the surface, and then culminate with regular, long-stay missions at a permanent outpost in the 2040’s. A common factor of these architectures is that many robotic launches would be required in order to support the crew by prepositioning mission elements and other needed supplies. In this paper, the use of 150 kW reusable Solar Electric Propulsion (SEP) tugs as a means to deliver elements both to orbit and the surface is studied. The conceptual SEP tugs make use of continued technology developments that were initialized through the Asteroid Redirect Robotic Mission (ARRM). They would also be used to deliver food and supplies to sustain the crews similar to resupply missions for the International Space Station. These SEP tugs would cycle (with loitering) between staging orbits in cislunar space and Mars orbit. The concepts presented here focus on the use of SEP for purposes of delivering cargo, and could potentially be complimentary to many human Mars architectures presented in the literature.

Research on path guidance of logistics transport vehicle based on image recognition and image processing in port area
摘要: Due to the messy logistics goods in the port area, some automatic transport vehicles often have errors in cargo transportation due to large path identification errors. Based on this, this study is based on image recognition technology, taking the most common logistics transport vehicles in the port area as the research object and using video image recognition technology as a guiding technology to perform image recognition processing on the ground guidance path. Simultaneously, this study determined the image preprocessing method which is more favorable for visual navigation, used the morphological knowledge of the image to detect the edge of the path image, then determined the position of the path center line, and carried out simulation analysis. The research shows that the results of this study have certain practicality and can provide theoretical references for subsequent related research.

摘要: In this paper, we consider the effect of carbon emission regulations on the vehicles assignment optimization problem. We propose a mathematical model, in which the choice of vehicles (between the traditional and new environmental-friendly ones) and the proper assignments to customers are the decision variables. We introduce a new measure, called the over-emission intensity (OEI) factor, with which the government can control the amount of carbon emission of companies. Based on this proposal, we establish a new mechanism, known as the cap-and-trade program with OEI, and incorporate it into the optimization model. This novel model is then validated and used to study the impacts of OEI, carbon emission quota, emission price, and budget, on the operational performance and optimal decision of the company. We demonstrate the usefulness of the model by illustrating the effect of market regulation and government’s macrocontrol on the reduction of carbon emission. We also show how the OEI affects the company’s total cost, total amount of carbon emission, and the optimal vehicles assignment scheme. Finally, we argue that integrating the government macrocontrol scheme with the market mechanism is an effective measure.

A Smart Sensor Data Transmission Technique for Logistics and Intelligent Transportation Systems
摘要: When it comes to Internet of Things systems that include both a logistics system and an intelligent transportation system, a smart sensor is one of the key elements to collect useful information whenever and wherever necessary. This study proposes the Smart Sensor Node Group Management Medium Access Control Scheme designed to group smart sensor devices and collect data from them efficiently. The proposed scheme performs grouping of portable sensor devices connected to a system depending on the distance from the sink node and transmits data by setting different buffer thresholds to each group. This method reduces energy consumption of sensor devices located near the sink node and enhances the IoT system’s general energy efficiency. When a sensor device is moved and, thus, becomes unable to transmit data, it is allocated to a new group so that it can continue transmitting data to the sink node.
