  • P‐9.3: The representation of monochromatic blue Micro‐LED arrays with 1984 ppi

    摘要: Blue InGaN/GaN Micro-LED arrays based on silicon and sapphire substrates were fabricated respectively. The LED chips with 12.8 μm pixel pitch share a common n contactor in a 960*540 LED array. The driving current for a single LED chip with 8 μm mesa reaches as large as 20 mA, which indicates its current density is much larger than that of LEDs even in high power lighting application. Meanwhile, the reverse leakage current of a single 8μm size LED chip under -5V bias is below 10 pA, which falls within the range of a normal leakage current level for InGaN/GaN LED. The heat pressing bonding process between LED array and test backplane was also carried out for I-V-L test. The test results of LED arrays were presented.

  • P‐6.7: Investigation of Full‐Color Solutions for Micro‐LED Display

    摘要: Micro-LED is considered as the next generation display technology and has got the attention of many research groups and companies in the world. It is a kind of display consists of microscopic LEDs integrated on driving circuit. And it has many advantages such as high brightness, low power consumption, quick response, wide viewing angle, self-emitting, long lifetime, good contrast, and due to its micro size, it has extremely high resolution which is really suitable for micro-display like VR and AR. However, there are still some problems need to be solved before it widely used in display market. In today's trend of pursuing colorization high resolution and high contrast ratio in display field, achieving high quality and high efficiency full- color display is one of the most important challenge for Micro- LED applications. In this paper, several feasible techniques of full-color Micro-LEDs are investigated.

  • 13.3: A new pixel structure for OLEDoS micro‐display

    摘要: In this paper, we propose a new pixel structure for the organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) 0.65 inch SVGA resolution micro-display with 8 bit gray level. The proposed pixel structure is composed of 4 MOSFETS and one capacitor to integrate the pixel structure in the restricted pixel area( )using 0.18um technology. The simulation result shows that the maximum error of emission current occurs at high gray level.

    摘要: In recent years, how to realize the color display of GaN-based LED micro-display has become a great challenge. This paper describes a full-color LED micro-display system based on time- dynamic color filter, which can achieve high resolution and low cost. Besides, the system has flexible structure and can be adjusted freely according to various applications.

  • P‐3.3: High Definition OLED‐on‐Silicon Micro‐display Based on Human Visual Characters

    摘要: As users demand higher refresh rates and frame rates, the amount of data in the virtual reality field is also growing. There is a large visual perception redundancy in the image source transmitted by the micro-display system. In this paper, an OLED-on-silicon micro-display system based on human visual characters is designed to solve the problem of high data bandwidth transmission in head-mounted virtual reality applications. The experimental results show the multi-resolution image fusion compression algorithm based on the visual perception of human eye has the good data compression ratio. The proposed method meets the visual perception of the human eye. It has good rendering quality, which meets real-time rendering requirements of the OLED-on-silicon micro-display in the virtual reality embedded environment.

    摘要: Highly efficient ultraviolet micro LED arrays are demonstrated. Small devices (5 microns in size) suitable for high resolution (725 ppi) can be produced with low leakage current and good emission spectra stability. A 10 by 10 array is achieved with passive-matrix driving connection.
