摘要: To synthesize Carbon-Titanium (C-Ti) multilayer thin films deposited on silicon substrates was used Thermionic Vacuum Arc (TVA) method. The coated layers consisted of a base layer of about 100 nm of Carbon deposited at low evaporation rates. Subsequently, seven Carbon and Titanium layers were deposited alternatively on top of Carbon base layer, each of them has a final thickness up to 40 nm. In this study we obtained different batches of samples by variation of the substrate temperature between 0oC and 300oC, and the ion acceleration voltage applying a negative substrate bias voltage between 0V and -700V. To characterize the microstructure properties of as prepared C-Ti multilayer structures were used Electron Microscopy techniques (TEM, SEM, STEM) and Raman Spectroscopy. Results of tribological measurements are associated with the occurrence of atomic diffusion processes at Ti/C interface. To characterize the electrical conductive properties, the electrical resistance versus temperature have been measured.

Effective Medium Model of Periodic Nanolayered Transparent Shields
摘要: An innovative effective medium model based on the transfer matrix method is proposed for the simulation of 1D-periodic subwavelength metal–dielectric laminated structures excited by TM- or TE-polarized plane wave with oblique incidence angles. The homogeneous medium of each period is characterized by TM or TE complex effective permeability and conductivity. The resulting effective single layer (ESL), having the same total thickness of the multilayer laminate, is represented by a transfer matrix given by the product of the transmission matrices of the periods composing the structure. Notice that this model allows the homogenization of n-layer periods, while the effective medium approximation method is formulated for only two-layer periods. The ESL is used to compute the transmission and reflection coefficients and the shielding effectiveness of 1D-periodic nanolayered transparent coatings made by alternating layers of silver, zinc oxide, or titanium dioxide films, in the frequency range from 100 MHz up to 10 THz. The propagating wave performances of the ESL are compared with the ones given by the rigorous multilayer model. Finally, two different screens made of transparent coatings over glass are proposed and analyzed.

摘要: A semi-analytical method to design multilayer meander-line polarizers is described in this paper. The proposed procedure consists of a combination of the transmission line equivalent circuit and a Simulated Annealing Algorithm to estimate the best values of the dimensions of the polarizer. A wideband four layers’ meander-line polarizer [6 – 18 GHz] is studied. Patch antenna resonating at different frequencies is associated to the polarizer to validate it. The results verify that the proposed multilayer meander-line polarizer convert the Linear wave to Circular one.

Decorative near-infrared transmission filters featuring high-efficiency and angular-insensitivity employing 1D photonic crystals
摘要: We present a new scheme for visibly-opaque but near-infrared-transmitting filters involving 7 layers based on one-dimensional ternary photonic crystals, with capabilities in reaching nearly 100% transmission efficiency in the near-infrared region. Different decorative reflection colors can be created by adding additional three layers while maintaining the near-infrared transmission performance. In addition, our proposed structural colors show great angular insensitivity up to ±60° for both transverse electric and transverse magnetic polarizations, which are highly desired in various fields. The facile strategy described here involves a simple deposition method for the fabrication, thereby having great potential in diverse applications such as image sensors, anti-counterfeit tag, and optical measurement systems.

Enhancement of the Electric Field and Diminishment of the Group Velocity of Light in Dielectric Multilayer Systems: A General Description
摘要: We present analytical formulae for light propagation through a multilayer of dielectric media as a function of the “total charge” and the “accumulated charge” that we propose by the transfer-matrix method. We redefine the concept of the total charge introduced by Liu et al. [J. Phys. Condens. Matter. 29, 455303 (2017)] and newly define the accumulated charge to determine the magnitude of electric field inside the multilayers analytically. In addition, we derive an analytical expression for the group velocity of light in each layer. The purpose of this work is to predict which kind of sequence would provide the strongest amplification of the electric field inside the multilayer as well as to find the sequence that gives the lowest group velocity. We find that the symmetric alternating sequence gives the best amplification of the electric field and the lowest mean group velocity compared with the other sequences.

摘要: In this report, distributed field emitters are considered, which are perspective for use in miniature but high-voltage electronic devices operating in a technical vacuum. The main attention is paid to the latest developments of the authors on the creation of a new type cathodes: multitip silicon cathodes with protective metal-fullerene coating and multilayer cathodes prepared from the brought into contact materials with different work function. The possibility of obtaining with the help of these cathodes field emission currents and current densities sufficient for maintenance of operation of microwave devices of millimeter and submillimeter range is demonstrated.

Kossel Effect in Periodic Multilayers
摘要: The Kossel effect is the diffraction by a periodically structured medium, of the characteristic X-ray radiation emitted by the atoms of the medium. We show that multilayers designed for X-ray optics applications are convenient periodic systems to use in order to produce the Kossel effect, modulating the intensity emitted by the sample in a narrow angular range defined by the Bragg angle. We also show that excitation can be done by using photons (X-rays), electrons or protons (or charged particles), under near normal or grazing incident geometries, which makes the method relatively easy to implement. The main constraint comes from the angular resolution necessary for the detection of the emitted radiation. This leads to small solid angles of detection and long acquisition times to collect data with sufficient statistical significance. Provided this difficulty is overcome, the comparison or fit of the experimental Kossel curves, i.e., the angular distributions of the intensity of an emitted radiation of one of the element of the periodic stack, with the simulated curves enables getting information on the depth distribution of the elements throughout the multilayer. Thus the same kind of information obtained from the more widespread method of X-ray standing wave induced fluorescence used to characterize stacks of nanometer period, can be obtained using the Kossel effect.

Extreme Ultraviolet Multilayer Nanostructures and Their Application to Solar Plasma Observations: A Review
摘要: The advent of nanoscale multilayer (ML) technology has led to great breakthroughs in many scientific and technological fields such as nano-manufacturing, bio-imaging, atto-physics, matter physics and solar physics. ML nanostructures are an enabling technology for the development of mirrors and reflective gratings having high efficiency at normal incidence in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) range, a spectral region where conventional coatings show a negligible reflectance. In solar physics, ML mirrors have proved to be key elements for both imaging and spectroscopy space instruments, as they allow to make observations of EUV solar plasma emissions with spatial and spectral resolutions never reached before. ML-based instruments have been used in many of the major solar satellites and have flown in numerous sounding rocket experiments; moreover, in the last two decades many studies were performed in order to develop ML structures with increasingly better performance for future solar missions. In this paper, a review of the most promising ML nanostructures developed so far and applied to the observation of solar plasma emission lines is presented. After a brief recall of ML theory, a detailed discussion of the most promising material pairs and layer stack structures proposed and applied to past and current space missions will be presented; in particular, the review will focus on the ML structures having high efficiency in the 6 nm–35 nm wavelength range. Finally, the ML stability to low energy ion bombardment will be discussed.

Cr/C Reflective Multilayer for Wavelength of 44.8 ?
摘要: The working wavelength of Ni-like, Ta soft X-ray laser is 44.8 ?, just near the “water window.” High re?ection multilayers are required for this kind of laser in China. In this work, we design and fabricate carbon-based multilayer re?ective samples. The Cr/C multilayer was selected from proposed candidates such as Co/C, Ni/C, and CoCr/C material combinations. The period thickness is only 22.6 ?. Cr/C multilayers were deposited by the magnetron sputtering method. Multilayers with bi-layer numbers of 150, 200, 250 and 300 were deposited onto super polished silicon wafers. All multilayers have been characterized by grazing incidence X-ray re?ectance (GIXRR). Then, near-normal incidence re?ectance measurements were performed at beamline 3W1B, Beijing synchrotron radiation (BSRF). The highest re?ectance of 13.2% is achieved with the bi-layer number of 300. Transmission electron microscopy measurements also clearly show the sharp Cr–C interfaces in the multilayer.

ULTRA-WIDEBAND FOUR-WAY IN-PHASE MULTILAYER POWER DIVIDER WITH HIGH ISOLATION
摘要: A novel ultra-wideband four-way in-phase multilayer power divider based on the microstrip-to-slotline transition is proposed in this paper as a complemental slotline power divider with high isolation. Due to the introduction of three lumped isolation resistors, the isolations between output ports in the new structure have been improved. The design expressions have been derived by making use of odd-mode and even-mode method. Both simulated and measured results have proved that the proposed power divider has good impedance matching at all ports, high isolations between output ports, excellent amplitude and phase balance, as well as ?at group delay over the wide frequency range from 3.8 GHz to 11 GHz.
