  • Determination of iodide based on dynamic gas extraction and colorimetric detection by paper modified with silver triangular nanoplates

    摘要: This paper reports on a new method for sensitive and selective determination of iodide based on dynamic gas extraction with air flow and digital colorimetric detection using paper modified with silver triangular nanoplates (AgTNPs). Iodide is oxidized in a sample by Fe(III) to produce molecular iodine which is extracted in air flow and transferred to a sensitive AgTNPs-containing paper layer. Interaction of AgTNPs with iodine results in optical changes which can be monitored by ordinary scanner. The high selectivity of dynamic gas extraction to volatile compounds ensures successful analysis of such samples as cranberry and kelp with no sample pretreatment, and due to the sensitivity of AgTNPs good analytical performance can be achieved. The limit of detection of iodide was found to be of 0.01 mg L?1 and the determination range of 0.03–0.3 mg L?1. The method can be easily adapted to simultaneous determination of iodide/iodine and iodide/chloride in the same sample.

  • Selective castration-resistant prostate cancer photothermal ablation with CuS nanoplates

    摘要: Objective: To explore new therapies for castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) to improve patients’ quality of life and extend life. Materials and Methods: The synthesis, morphology analysis, phase analysis, spectral analysis and photothermal conversion test were referenced to our previous articles. Then NIR-light-driven CuS nanoplates to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in vivo and in vitro was carried out. Transmission electron microscope, mCherry-LC3 syncytial virus labelling, acridine orange staining and autophagy protein were used to detect the autophagy caused by CuS nanoplates and chloroquine was used to inhibit the process of autophagy. Results: The CuS nanoplates prepared in this study feature low cytotoxicity, simple preparation and high photothermal conversion efficiency. Driven by 980nm near-infrared light, CuS nanoplates could inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in vivo and in vitro, while triggering the autophagy and cytoprotection of prostate cancer cells. Conclusions: CuS nanoplates are a kind of commendable photothermal therapy agent in CRPC treating. Autophagy inhibition enhances the photothermal efficiency of CuS nanoplates, which indicates favorable application prospects in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer.

  • Synthesis of Ultrathin Few-Layer 2D Nanoplates of Halide Perovskite Cs <sub/>3</sub> Bi <sub/>2</sub> I <sub/>9</sub> and Single-Nanoplate Super-Resolved Fluorescence Microscopy

    摘要: The discovery of new two-dimensional (2D) perovskite halides has created sensation recently because of their structural diversity and intriguing optical properties. The toxicity of Pb-based perovskite halides led to the development of Pb-free halides. Herein, we have demonstrated a one-pot solution-based synthesis of 2D ultrathin (~1.78 nm) few-layer (2?4 layers) nanoplates (300?600 nm lateral dimension), nanosheets (0.6?1.5 μm), and nanocrystals of layered Cs3Bi2I9 by varying the reaction temperature from 110 to 180 °C. We have established a mechanistic pathway for the variation of morphology of Cs3Bi2I9 with temperature in the presence of organic capping ligands. Further, we have synthesized the bulk powder of Cs3Bi2I9 by mechanochemical synthesis and liquid-assisted grinding and crystalline ingot by vacuum-sealed tube melting. 2D nanoplates and bulk Cs3Bi2I9 demonstrate optical absorption edge along with excitonic transition. Photoluminescence properties of individual nanoplates were studied by super-resolution ?uorescence imaging, which indicated the blinking behavior down to the level of an individual Cs3Bi2I9 nanoplate along with its emission at the far-red region and high photostability.

  • Recoverable magnetic CoFe2O4/BiOI nanofibers for efficient visible light photocatalysis

    摘要: A facile methodology for fabricating novel magnetic fibrous visible light photocatalysts CoFe2O4/BiOI (CFO/BiOI) is presented. The fabrication procedure involves production of electrospun CoFe2O4 nanofibers and subsequent controllable decoration of BiOI nanoplates by both the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) and solvothermal methods on CoFe2O4 nanofiber surface. The BiOI nanoplates on the fiber surface obtained by two methods are highly crystallized with lamellae morphology. The resulting CFO/BiOI fibers exhibit strongly magnetic response to external magnetic field and can be quickly collected. All the CFO/BiOI fiber samples exhibit excellent visible light photocatalytic performance towards degrading RhB regardless of the preparation methods, in which h+ and ?O2? play the major roles examined by the trapping experiment. Above 80% RhB dyes can be degraded within 2 h after 3 cycles under visible light irradiation, suggesting the good reusability of the photocatalysts. This work demonstrates that the CFO/BiOI is characteristic with high visible light photocatalysis performance and magnetic response, hence is promising for photocatalysis.

  • A novel 3D-structured flower-like bismuth tungstate/mag-graphene nanoplates composite with excellent visible-light photocatalytic activity for ciprofloxacin degradation

    摘要: 3D structured flower-like bismuth tungstate/magnetic-graphene nanoplates (Bi2WO6/mag-GNPs) composite was first synthetised for degradation of ciprofloxacin (CIP). The morphological properties of Bi2WO6/mag-GNPs were characterized by SEM, XRD and DRS. The results revealed the synthesized Bi2WO6/mag-GNPs had the enhanced photocatalytic activity because of the synergistic effects of Bi2WO6, grapheme and Fe3O4. The photocatalytic degradation rate of Bi2WO6/mag-GNPs toward CIP was almost 6.0 times of mag-GNPs, 2.0 times and 1.7 times of Bi2WO6 and Bi2WO6/GNPs, respectively. Moreover, the Bi2WO6/mag-GNPs particles could be easily separated and recycled. The construction of Bi2WO6/mag-GNPs effectively resolved the separation of photocatalyst and improved the photocatalysis activity of Bi2WO6.

  • Metastable crystalline phase in two-dimensional metallic oxide nanoplates

    摘要: Structural phase transition in crystals induced by high-pressure or high-temperature conditions may result in the development of unusual physical and chemical properties; these properties are often difficult to stabilize under ambient conditions. Here we adopted a simple method in which ultrathin cerium oxide nanoplates (< 1.4 nm) were synthesized to increase the surface atomic content, allowing transformation from a face-centered cubic (fcc) phase to a body-centered tetragonal (bct) phase. Three types of cerium oxide nanoparticles of different thicknesses, i.e., 1.2-nm ultrathin nanoplates, 2.2-nm nanoplates, and 5.4-nm nanocubes, were examined using transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The metastable bct phase was observed only in ultrathin nanoplates. Thermodynamic energy analysis confirmed that the surface energy of the ultrathin nanoplates is the cause of the remarkable stabilization of the metastable bct phase. The mechanism of surface energy regulation can be expanded to other metallic oxides, thus providing a new means for manipulating and stabilizing novel materials under ambient conditions that otherwise would not be recovered.
