摘要: In this paper, we consider the construction of NB-QC-LDPC code in the framework of superposition for optical communication systems. By maximizing the girth and reducing the number of g-cycles of the base cycle matrix, NB-QC-LDPC codes with good distributions could be constructed. Simulation results show that, with the same implementation cost, the constructed codes could achieve 0.1dB~0.4dB NCG in iterative decoding at the BER of 10^-4 when compared with the recent proposed codes.

Optimal coupling condition analysis of free-space optical communication receiver based on few-mode fiber
摘要: Effective coupling between space light and optical fiber is one of the key technologies in free space optical communication. Few-mode fiber coupling is becoming a promising method to improve the performance of free space optical communication receiver. The dependence of the few-mode fiber coupling efficiency on the focal ratio, the central occlusion ratio and the numerical aperture are analyzed in this paper. The research results may be beneficial for the design of the receiver based on FMF coupling in the FSOC system.

摘要: In this paper, a wireless optical communication system based on Faraday anomalous dispersion optical filter (FADOF) is proposed to supress the ambient light. Experimental results show that the Q factor of 20Mbit/s OFDM-QPSK signal can be improved by 9 dB after filtering the ambient light by using the FADOF.

摘要: We experimentally demonstrate an optimization of wide-spectral mode-locking fiber laser carriers by the introduction of two-pulse pump scheme with fiber dispersion management. We also verify the improved transmission performance of optimized wider-spectral carriers in 1km simulated atmospheric turbulent channel. For preferable compatibility and superiority, it can be an adaptive scheme for free space optical communication in the foreseeable future.

摘要: In this work, an overview of requirements for compact optical modules and devices is presented, focusing on optical laser sources. Regarding coherent applications, the laser must have narrow linewidth, while, at the same time, be compact and present low power consumption, targeting C-form factor pluggable (CFP) modules. Latest results obtained by our group on laser development are presented, showing that the External-Cavity Laser (ECL) can fulfill the requirements for this application.

Performance enhancement of high-capacity coherent DWDM free-space optical communication link using digital signal processing
摘要: In this paper, 1.28 Tbps (32 × 40 Gbps) high-capacity DWDM-FSO link has been investigated for performance enhancement using coherent detection and digital signal processing (DSP). The DP-16QAM-modulated proposed DWDM-FSO link has been analyzed for both adverse weather and turbulent atmospheric conditions. It is observed that when link is subjected to strong turbulence along with adverse weather conditions, the DSP-aided coherent DWDM-FSO receiver achieves target bit error rate (BER) of 10?4 at signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 36.4 dB, while for similar conditions, the SNR requirements for IM/DD-based DWDM-FSO link shoots by 12.8 dB to 49.2 dB. Also, in terms of operational link range, the proposed link even under strong turbulent conditions serves 1.88 km, whereas IM/DD link was restricted to mere 1.12 km for target of BER of 10?4, thus producing a decent range increment of 760 m. The proposed link has been designed and investigated using OptiSystem? 14.2.

摘要: In this paper, we experimentally demonstrated a 4Gbit/s transmission experiment using a low noise partially coherent beam (PCB) source based on wide-spectrum filtered from supercontinuum (SC) which generated from picosecond mode-locked fiber laser pumping highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF). The noise of PCB source is reduced by filtering out amplified spontaneous emission noise of erbium-doped fiber amplifier The eye pattern and eye SNR based on PCB source before and after turbulent channel are measured, respectively. The experimental results show that the SNR of the PCB source before and after turbulent channel are 21.54dB and 17.89dB, respectively.

摘要: In a satellite-to-ground laser communication system, the presence of atmospheric turbulence and residual angle of arrival fluctuations limit the efficiency with which the propagating beam is coupled into a single-mode fiber. Considering the influence of atmospheric turbulence and residual jitter of angle of arrive, the expression of mean-coupling efficiency is handled in the receiver aperture plane in this paper. The optimal design parameter of the optical receiver system in the satellite-to-ground laser links can be obtained by maximize fiber coupling efficiency. Corresponding numerical results based on the expression derived in this paper will be useful in parametric estimation and optimization of optical receiver system.

A Waveguide Gate-Type Complex Detecting Mechanism on Micro-Channel Plate Substrate
摘要: The waveguide gate-type mechanism on micro-channel plate substrate was ?rstly put forward for the complex photo detection in Free space optical communication (FSO). Based on the losses of energy coupling between both Micro-channel plates (MCP), we further proposed waveguide gate-type complex detecting mechanism, which was veri?ed in electron optic system by vacuum testing. With the application of the complex detecting mechanism, the device performance has greatly improved, including higher space optical transfer and wider dynamic detecting range.
