    摘要: Glass is a good material which received attention for doping lanthanide ions. Glass doped Ln3+ ions can show luminescence, but not too strong light yield. It is well known that the host glass plays an important role in the enhancement. This paper has been described effect of Ln3+ ions (Sm3+, Eu3+ and Dy3+) doped oxyfluoride glass by comparing between oxide and oxyfluoride glasses. For the Sm3+ doped gadolinium calcium phosphate oxyfluoride glass, the highest emission peak was 598 nm under 401 nm excitation. While the emission light yield of oxyfluoride glass was higher than oxide glass due to the reduction of phonon and non-radiative losses. In case of Eu3+ doped oxyfluoride glass, the 612 nm emission under 394 nm excitation was observed. The light yield of oxyfluoride glass also was better than oxide glass. The Dy3+-doped phosphate oxide and oxyfluoride glasses were investigated. The luminescence light yield of oxyfluoride glass was more than oxide glass as well, owing to lower OH group of oxyfluoride glass, which can be confirmed by FTIR measurement. As described earlier, it concludes that the oxyfluoride glass is better than glass matrix when compared with oxide glass to enhance luminescence light yield for Ln3+ ions in glass matrix.

  • Eu2+ and Mn2+ co-doped oxyfluoride glass ceramic for white color conversion of 400??nm UV-LED

    摘要: SiO2–Na2O–Al2O3–LaF3 glasses doped with Eu2t and Mn2t were synthesized to fabricate an inorganic color converter for white LED. When Eu2t was formed within the glass matrix, the obtained glasses showed cyan emission under 400 nm excitation upon heat treatment and the emission peak has been shifted with the crystallization. White emission has been successfully achieved with the introduction of Mn2t which supplemented red emission. The glass ceramic has been mounted on a 400 nm UV-LED and successfully demonstrated its practical feasibility with color rendering index of 91.3. The effect of heat treatment and energy transfer between Eu2t and Mn2t has been discussed.

  • Highly sensitive optical thermometers based on unconventional thermometric coupled levels of Tm <sup>3+</sup> following a Boltzmann-type distribution in oxyfluoride glass ceramics

    摘要: Oxyfluoride glass ceramics (GCs) containing b-PbF2 nanocrystals (NCs) doped with Tm3+ and Yb3+ were synthesized by a conventional melt-quenching method and a subsequent glass crystallization route. In b-PbF2:Tm3+/Yb3+ GCs, Tm3+/Yb3+ is surrounded by fluoride with a low phonon energy, ensuring its intense emissions at 362 (1D2 - 3H6), 450 (1D2 - 3F4), 478 (1G4 - 3H6), 648 (1G4 - 3F4), 700 (3F2,3 - 3H6) and 800 (3H4 - 3H6) nm excited by 976 nm laser. Furthermore, temperature-dependent upconversion luminescence (UCL) behaviors of b-PbF2:Tm3+/Yb3+ GCs were systematically investigated to explore the thermometric performance with the assistance of the fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) method by employing conventional TCELs of 3F2,3/3H4 following a Boltzmann distribution and two unconventional coupled levels of 3F2,3/1D2 and 3F2,3/1G4 governed by a Boltzmann-type distribution. Impressively, the relative sensitivity (Sr) of 3F2,3/1D2 states (I700nm/I362nm), 3F2,3/1G4 states (I700nm/I478nm), and 3F2,3/3H4 states (I700nm/I800nm) was obtained in this work as values of 1.30% K-1, 1.38% K-1, and 0.87% K-1, respectively. Compared with the conventional TCELs of 3F2,3/3H4, the two unconventional coupled levels of 3F2,3/1D2 and 3F2,3/1G4 present preferable properties as temperature probes enabling optical ratiometric thermometers. The research in this work provides an important advance in exploring other innovative FIR methods for optical thermometers to enable an intense and precise probing signal and detect temperature accurately.

  • Development of Eu3+ doped boro-tellurite oxyfluoride glass and their Judd-Ofelt analysis for red laser gain medium application

    摘要: This paper investigated the physical, optical, luminescence and radiative properties of Eu3+ doped borotellurite oxyfluoride glass with composition (30-x)TeO2-30B2O3-10ZnF2-30BaO-xEu2O3 where x are 0.05, 0.10, 0.50, 1.00 and 1.50 mol%. The glass samples were fabricated by melt and quenching method. The physical and optical properties were investigated from density, molar volume and refractive index. Meanwhile absorption spectra that show several transitions in the ultraviolet to near infrared region interpret the optical properties of the glass sample. The emission spectra of glass sample were measured under excited ?ex = 394 nm. The highest peak of emission spectra occurs in 1.5 mol% of Eu2O3 due to 5D0→7F2 transition centered at 613 nm. The emission intensity was increased by the addition of Eu2O3 from 0.05 mol% to 1.5 mol%. In addition, Judd-Ofelt (JO) theory was used to define the radiative properties and lasing potential of the glass sample. The value of JO parameter ?2, ?4, ?6 was calculated and compared with literatures. Other radiative properties including experimental (fexp) and calculated (fcal) oscillator strengths, stimulated emission cross-sections (σ), radiative transition probability (AR), experimental and calculated branching ratios (?R) of glass sample were determined and discussed in term of red laser gain medium application.

  • Luminescent properties of Dy3+/Eu3+ doped fluorescent glass for white LED based on oxyfluoride matrix

    摘要: Rare earth ion-doped fluorescent glass has become a hotspot due to its characteristics. This work shows that the prepared Dy3+ and Dy3+/Eu3+ doped glasses have white light emission under ultraviolet excitation. There is a higher yellow light/blue light (Y/B) value, indicating an increase in the covalentity of Dy-O, and decrease in the symmetry with the increasing concentration of dopants (Dy3+). The correlated color temperature (CCT) can be effectively reduced by the red light emission of Eu3+, and the order of influence of excitation wavelength on CCT is 395 nm > 382 nm > 365 nm .The delay curve demonstrates that the energy transfer from Dy3+ to Eu3+. The glass has the characteristics of anti-blue light damage and wide tunable color temperature, which illustrates that it has potential application in the field of white LED.
