  • Phase-controlled single-photon nonreciprocal transmission in a one-dimensional waveguide

    摘要: We study the controllable single-photon scattering via a one-dimensional waveguide which is coupled to a two-level emitter and a single-mode cavity simultaneously. The emitter and the cavity are also coupled to each other and form a three-level system with cyclic transitions within the zero- and single-excitation subspaces. As a result, the phase of emitter-cavity coupling strength serves as a sensitive control parameter. When the emitter and cavity locate at the same point of the waveguide, we demonstrate the Rabi splitting and quasidark-state-induced perfect transmission for the incident photons. More interestingly, when they locate at different points of the waveguide, a controllable nonreciprocal transmission can be realized and the nonreciprocity is robust to the weak coupling between the system and environment. Furthermore, we demonstrate that our theoretical model is experimentally feasible with currently available technologies.

  • Crystal phase control synthesis of metallic 1T-WS2 nanosheets incorporating single walled carbon nanotubes to construct superior microwave absorber

    摘要: Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have attracted tremendous attentions due to their unique properties, and the development of phase control technique brings out new opportunities in emerging application fields. In this work, tungsten disulfide (WS2) nanosheets containing 1T phase predominately were incorporated with single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) through a facial hydrothermal method. Two-dimensional flexible and ultrathin WS2 nanosheets were in-situ grown on one-dimensional SWCNTs bundles, further forming typical urchin-like microsphere with diameters distributing in the range of 2~3 μm uniformly. Accordingly, dielectric loss could be significantly enhanced due to the strong interface coupling effect between WS2 nanosheets and SWCNTs bundles, which induced considerable electrical conductivity and abundant capacitor-like structures. Consequently, the minimum reflection loss (RL) could reach up to -66 dB at 8.3 GHz with a matching thickness of 2.2 mm. Furthermore, RL values lower than -10 dB could be attained in the range of 3.0~18.0 GHz with integrated thicknesses from 5.0 to 1.0 mm. Prospectively, our present work may provide new opportunity to design TMDs based composites by means of crystal phase control technique as lightweight and high-performance microwave absorbers.

    摘要: The generation of terahertz (THz) radiation by two-color laser pulse induced gas plasma is an actively researched topic since its exploration [1]. It is a tabletop, powerful spectroscopic tool in the far-infrared spectral regime. The THz spectroscopy is capable to identify chemicals in a nondestructive way [2]. It is capable to generate THz radiation by remotely more than 100m from the laser system [3], the remote sensing of the THz radiation also possible [4]. By the combination of the former mentioned features, the THz spectroscopy is a powerful tool to identify drugs, poisons and explosives with remotely in a nondestructive way.

  • Phase control of plasmon enhanced two-photon photoluminescence in resonant gold nanoantennas

    摘要: Plasmonic nanoantennas emit two-photon photoluminescence, which is much stronger than their second harmonic generation. Unfortunately, luminescence is an incoherent process and therefore generally not explored for nanoscale coherent control of the antenna response. Here, we demonstrate that, in resonant gold nanoantennas, the two-photon absorption process can be coherent, provided that the excitation pulse duration is shorter than the dephasing time of plasmon mode oscillation. Exploiting this coherent response, we show the pure spectral phase control of resonant gold nanoantennas, with effective read-out of the two-photon photoluminescence.

    摘要: We demonstrate all-optical broadband phase control of THz pulses. By spatially patterning a fs pump pulse we inject photoconductive regions inside a silicon-filled THz parallel-plate waveguide (PPWG), defining light-induced THz quasi-optical components within the waveguide. We show carrier envelope phase shifts of single-cycle THz pulses as well as synthesis of chirped waveforms, including a negative chirp of -11 GHz/ps between 0.3 and 0.5 THz.

  • Role of the reactive sputtering deposition power in the phase control of cobalt oxide films

    摘要: The influence of the reactive magnetron sputtering deposition power on determining the stoichiometry and structure of cobalt oxide polycrystalline films is investigated using experimental and simulated data. Direct current discharges with powers in the 80–240 W range are tested using a metallic Co target and an Ar + O2 plasma. X-ray diffraction results show that lower deposition powers favor the spinel Co3O4 phase, while higher powers produce films presenting the rocksalt CoO phase. Computer simulations indicate that lower power processes occur in the poisoned target regime, while higher power depositions favor the metallic target regime. Consistent with the simulations, oxygen optical emissions (OI = 777:3 m) from the plasma show a significant decrease while the cobalt emissions (e.g., the CoI = 340:5 nm line) are significantly increased when the deposition power is increased. The results show that the film stoichiometry and structure are directly related to the deposition power, at constant O2 flow.

    摘要: Currently, various kinds of biomedical microrobots have been proposed for medical and industrial applications. In order to maximize the utilization of microrobots, a method of supplying electrical energy by wireless power transfer has been proposed. Nevertheless, one of the critical issues of microrobot is miniaturization. In this paper, we successfully demonstrated 2.6 mm sized microrobot using wireless power transfer system to produce the propulsion force and transfer electric power simultaneously. A micro robot with several millimeters was fabricated using a semiconductor process, which was used in experiments. A 2.6 mm×2.6 mm sized spiral coil microrobot have been successfully demonstrated with 2.1 mm/s.

  • Tunable Liquid Crystal Based Phase Shifter with a Slot Unit Cell for Reconfigurable Reflectarrays in F-Band

    摘要: An electrically tuned phase shifter based on the single slot unit cell and liquid crystal for a reconfigurable reflectarray antenna was presented. The simulation and measured results obtained at the F-band were used to demonstrate that the dielectric properties of a nematic state liquid crystal could be exploited to realize a slot unit cell phase shifter for the reconfigurable reflectarrays antennas. By reducing the inhomogeneous of the external electric field in the liquid crystal layer, a lower control voltage and improved model accuracy was obtained. In the experiments test, the achieved saturation bias voltage (10 V) was smaller than the previously reported structure, and the phase shift of the reflectarray greater than 300? was achieved in the frequency range 121.5–126 GHz. The maximum phase shift of 306? occurred at 124.5 GHz.
