P‐1.15: A new optical compensation scheme for AMOLED displays with a‐IGZO TFT and a‐Si:H PIN diode
摘要: This paper proposed a new optical compensation scheme for AMOLED display based on a sensor unit in pixel. The sensor unit includes an a-IGZO TFT, which is adopted as a switch due to its low off current, a-Si:H PIN diode as optical sensor due to its high photoconductive gain, and a capacitor to store charges. Owing to the large off current difference under different brightness, the luminance of every pixel can be acquired by PIN sensor, and then data voltage is adjusted accordingly. The scheme is adopted in a 5 inch AMOLED display, and the results show this method can capture the pixel brightness accurately, and effectively compensate low gray level light uniformity.

摘要: A low profile omnidirectional circular polarized reconfigurable antenna for Beidou application is proposed in this paper. This antenna is based on the first-order resonance mode of epsilon negative transmission line. To form a circularly polarized wave in the far field, the vertical and horizontal polarization is generated by a parallel circular cavity and three dual arc arms, respectively. Only 6 PIN diodes are needed to alter the left-handed circularly polarized (LHCP) or right- handed circularly polarized (RHCP) omnidirectional radiation state. Three-dimensional electromagnetic simulation software Ansoft HFSS and RF circuit simulation software Agilent ADS are used for co-simulation and optimization. It is shown that the proposed antenna can meet the Beidou navigation BDS-1 S band requirement well whether at the left or right circularly polarized state. The omnidirectional average axial ratio at two states are 1.24 dB and 1.25 dB with 16.7 % and 19.8 % 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth, respectively. The thickness of antenna is only 2 mm (0.016 (cid:540)0) and simply processed without a dual feeding structure and 90 phase shifter.

A NOVEL RECONFIGURABLE UWB FILTERING-ANTENNA WITH DUAL SHARP BAND NOTCHES USING DOUBLE SPLIT RING RESONATORS
摘要: This study presents a novel technique for designing an ultra-wideband (UWB) filtering-antenna with dual sharp band notches. This design is composed of a modified monopole antenna integrated with resonant structures. The monopole antenna is modified using microstrip transition between the feedline and the patch. In addition, block with a triangle-shaped slot is loaded on each side of the ordinary circular patch to produce wide bandwidth with better return loss and higher frequency skirt selectivity. The resonant structures are constructed using two double split ring resonators (DSRR) loaded above the ground plane of the antenna to produce dual band notches and filter out WiMAX (3.3–3.7 GHz) and HiperLAN2 (5.4–5.7 GHz) frequencies. The band notch position is controlled by varying the length of the DSRR. The reconfigurability feature is achieved by using two PIN diode switches employed in the two DSRR. The measured results show that the proposed filtering-antenna provides wide impedance bandwidth from 2.58 to 15.5 GHz with controllable dual sharp band notches for WiMAX and HiperLAN, peak realized gain of 4.96 dB and omnidirectional radiation pattern.

摘要: Losses in the phase shifters of phased arrays are one of the main limitations of these reconfigurable antennas. This contribution presents the design and measured results of variable phase shifters on triplicate suspended transmission lines in the microwave X-band for variable pointing radar applications. The antenna assembly remains passive and with a very low level of losses in the power distribution network and the phase shifters. PIN or varactor diodes are used to control the load on the transmission line. Each of these components has advantages and disadvantages that are discussed in the communication.

摘要: This paper presents a design of arbitrarily terminated coupler with tunable negative group delay (NGD) response and power division ratio. The proposed coupler provides tunable NGD through port 3 and 1 whereas positive group delay (PGD) through port 2 and 1. The analytical analysis shows that the power division ratio and NGD are controlled by a junction resistance of parasitic compensated PIN diode. Perfect matching and infinite isolation are obtained at the center frequency (f0). The proposed coupler is validated by fabricating circuit at f0 = 2.14 GHz. Measurement results are well agreed with simulated and predicted results. The experimental results show that NGD is varied from -0.2 to -1.3 ns with NGD fractional bandwidth (bandwidth of GD < 0) of 21.14 % to 15.88%.

摘要: In this paper, a radiation pattern reconfigurable antenna is presented, which is able to switch between a bidirectional and a unidirectional radiation pattern. The proposed antenna is conceived from the characteristic mode analysis of two parallel metallic plates, with the same and different sizes. By means of two PIN diodes, the size of the lower plate of the two parallel metallic plates can be modified, changing the behavior of the radiation pattern. During the ON/OFF switching, the operating frequency is shifted, what is solved by introducing a varactor diode in the antenna. Thus, the operating frequency is adjusted for the switching state.

摘要: Photodiodes detect the separation of charge carriers in a semiconductor upon irradiation with photons. Recently, new high sensitivity low noise photodetector-integrator based on a PIN diode with embedded gate-control potential barrier was developed. In the study of its characteristics, were observed effects of external particles on the surface of the substrate. In this paper, we studied the effect of surface charges on the potential distribution and charge carriers motion in such PIN diode by means computer simulation using the software Comsol Multiphysics. The appropriate mechanism of surface charge operation was revealed and estimated. The obtained results broaden the possibilities of using this PIN diode as a radiation detector, a particle detector, a biochemical sensor, etc.

Novel Multifunctional Reconfigurable Active Frequency Selective Surface
摘要: In this paper, a multifunctional active frequency selective surface (AFSS) is presented based on the switching responses of active components. The proposed structure comprises periodic arrays of metallic patterns imprinted on both sides of an FR4 substrate on which PIN diodes are embedded with parallel feed networks. The novelty of the design lies in its multifunctional characteristics with independent control of the biasing states (ON/OFF) of the diodes mounted on opposite layers. This leads to four different working states (dual-bandpass for OFF-OFF state, single-band absorber for OFF-ON state, single-bandpass for ON- OFF state, and reflector for ON-ON state) being facilitated by the proposed reconfigurable AFSS. Furthermore, the effects of the design parameters and active components on multifunctional responses are extensively analyzed by deriving equivalent circuit models. Even though the topology is polarization-sensitive, multiple dividable working functions (transmission, absorption and reflection) have been realized in single geometry unlike the earlier reported designs. The proposed structure has also been the measured responses show reasonable fabricated and agreement with the simulated results under normal incidence. A multifunctional AFSS with such diverse characteristics is an essential element for regulating electromagnetic wave propagation in manifold applications.
