  • Fluorinated and Bio-Based Polyamides with High Transparencies and Low Yellowness Index

    摘要: Bio-based polyamides with high transparency and low yellowness were synthesized using 4,4'-bis(trifluoroacetamido)-α-truxillic acid (ATA-F1) and 4,4'-bis(pentafluoropropionamido)-α-truxillic acid (ATA-F2) as a fluoroalkylated aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and various aromatic diamines. The introduction of fluorine side chains improved the transparency of the polyamide film, and suppressed its yellowness. On the other hand, water repellency, which should be a general characteristic of the fluorinated polymers, was not observed. By using ATA-F1 and various aromatic diamines, aromatic and fluorinated polyamides were obtained. In addition, these also demonstrated a high transparency and a low yellowness index. The heat resistance properties of all the obtained polyamides was over 250 °C, and the characteristics of the bio-based polyamides from 4-aminocinnamic acid derivatives were retained.

  • Optically transparent, organosoluble poly(ether-amide)s bearing triptycene unit; synthesis and characterization

    摘要: Aromatic polyamides are famous high performance polymeric materials for their excellent thermal, mechanical, electrical properties, which now a days became a dominant platform for modern polymer chemistry area. Triptycene unit like structures in polymer directly affects the physiochemical properties of polymer, thus polyamides especially with triptycene unit in their backbone with aryl ether linkage imparts combination of properties such as better solubility, melts processing characteristics, and better thermal stability in contrast with those of polymers without an aryl-ether linkageNew triptycene-containing bis(ether amine), 1,4-bis(4-aminophenoxy), 2, 3-benzotriptycene (4a) was synthesized from nucleophilic displacement reactions of P-fluoronitrobenzene with 1,4-dihydroxytriptycene, followed by reduction, and elucidated by FTIR, 1 H, 13 C NMR spectroscopy and HRMS. A series of new polyamides containing pendant triptycene group and flexibilizing ether linkages was synthesized by polycondensation of diamine with commercially available aromatic diacischlorides viz., terephthalylchloride (TPC), isophthalylchloride (IPC) and varying molar mixture of TPC and IPC accordingly. Synthesized Poly(ether-amide)s were found soluble in common organic solvents such as chloroform, dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, DMF, DMAc, DMSO also could be cast into excellent transperent thin films. Inherent viscosities of polyamides were in the range 0.44–0.57 dL/g. Polyamides exhibited initial decomposition temperature (Ti), glass transition temperatures (Tg) and temperature at 10% wt loss (t10), which was determined by TGA were noted in the range 212 (cid:1)C–305 (cid:1)C, 295 (cid:1)C –309 (cid:1)C and 587 (cid:1)C–631 (cid:1)C respectively with 24%–54% char yeild at 900 (cid:1)C under nitrogen atmosphere, indicating its better thermal stability and moderate glass transition temperature.

  • Preparation of ZnO nanoparticle-reinforced polyamide 6 composite by <i>in situ</i> -coproduced method and their properties

    摘要: Polyamide 6/ZnO nanocomposites (noted as PA6/ZnO) were prepared by an in situ co-producing method, during which Zn2(OH)2CO3 decomposed into nano-ZnO in the process of the opening-ring polymerization of caprolactam at high temperature. Transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry were used to analyze the size and dispersive properties of nano-ZnO, the crystallization and melting properties, the thermal properties, and crystal structure of PA6/ZnO composite, respectively. The results showed that the nano-ZnO derived from Zn2(OH)2CO3 via in situ polymerization of PA6-ZnO was uniformly dispersed in PA6 matrix. However, the overall nano-ZnO crystallization rate and crystal size in the PA6 matrix were hindered by the bulky PA6 molecular chains. The mechanical properties were evaluated using universal tensile and impact testing instruments. The results revealed that PA6/ZnO composite with 0.2% nano-ZnO content possessed excellent tensile strength, enhanced by 75% in comparison with the pure PA6. The nano-ZnO had little influence on the impact strength of PA6.

  • New Derivative Benzothiazole Suspend Diphenyleamine Based Aromatic Polyamides as Electrochromic Light Emitting Devices

    摘要: In this work, a set of some substituted aromatic polyamides containing (benzothiazole)diphenylamine moieties (P1-P5) was prepared via the phosphorylation polycondensation technique from the reaction of several aromatic dicarboxylic acids with synthesized N,N-bis(4-aminophenyl)2-amine-6-methoxybenzothiazol (M). It was prepared from the cesium fluoride-mediated double N-arylation reaction of 6-methoxybenzothiazol (a) with p-fluoronitrobenzene to form dinitro intermediate (I) followed by palladium-catalyzed hydrazine reduction. FTIR, 1H and 13C NMR spectra techniques were utilized to characterize the chemical structures of all the resultant intermediates and polyamides. Thermal analysis revealed that the synthesized polyamides showed perfect thermal stability and superior glass transition temperatures (Tg). Dilute solutions of these polyamides in N-methyl pyrrolidone (10-5 M) showed good optical properties where exhibited intensive photoluminescence in the region of blue colour. Cyclic voltammograms of the synthesized polymers membrane molding onto the basis of ITO-plated glass in the spesial electrolyte contains 10-1 M of tetrabutylammonium perchlorate(TBAP) in dry CH3CN which exhibited one oxidation redox wave couples.

  • Electrochromism of novel triphenylamine-containing polyamide polymers

    摘要: A series of novel polymers (coded as BCT-1 to BCT-6 (BTC is block triphenylamine)) based on N1-(4-aminophenyl)-N1-phenyl benzene-1,4-diamine, pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, 4,40-(phenyl azanediyl)dibenzoic acid (PDA), and different diamine compounds were synthesized successfully through a polymer condensation reaction. For comparison, model polymers, BCT–2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid (PA) and BCT–PDA, were synthesized as well. The electrochromic properties of the BCTs were determined via an electrochemical workstation and a UV–visible spectrophotometer. Through electrooxidation, the polymer ?lms showed reversible redox processes and steady color changes. In a comparision of the electrochromic characteristics of the BCTs, almost all the novel polymer ?lms showed a better electrochromism stability, a higher electrochromic coloration ef?ciency (CE), and a more rapid switching time than BCT–PA and BCT–PDA. Among these polymers, BCT-1 exhibited the highest CE of 266.7 cm2/C, and BCT-4 showed the most rapid switching time (color switching time = 3.08 s and bleaching time = 2.01 s). ? 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
