  • A universal growth strategy for DNA-programmed quantum dots on graphene oxide surfaces

    摘要: The emerging materials of semiconductor quantum dots/graphene oxide (QDs/GO) hybrid composites have recently attracted intensive attention in materials science and technology due to their potential applications in electronic and photonic devices. Here, a simple and universal strategy to produce DNA-programmed semiconductor quantum dots/graphene oxide (QDs/GO) hybrid composites with controllable sizes, shapes, compositions, and surface properties is reported. This proof-of-concept work successfully demonstrates the use of sulfhydryl modi?ed single-stranded DNA (S-ssDNA) as a ‘universal glue’ which can adsorb onto GO easily and provide the growth sites to synthesize CdS QDs, CdSe QDs, CdTe QDs and CdTeSe QDs with distinctive sizes, shapes and properties. Also, adapting this method, other graphene oxide-based hybrid materials which are easily synthesized in aqueous solution, including oxides, core–shell structure QDs and metal nanocrystals, would be possible. This method provided a universal strategy for the synthesis and functional realization of graphene -based nanomaterials.

  • Polyurethane-Supported Graphene Oxide Foam Functionalized with Carbon Dots and TiO2 Particles for Photocatalytic Degradation of Dyes

    摘要: The design and optimal synthesis of functional nanomaterials can meet the requirements of energy and environmental science. As a typical photocatalyst, TiO2 can be used to degrade dyes into non-toxic substances. In this work, we demonstrated the in-situ hydrothermal synthesis of carbon quantum dots (CQDs)-modified TiO2 (CQDs/TiO2) particles, and the subsequent fabrication of three-dimensional (3D) graphene oxide (GO) foam doped with CQDs/TiO2 via a facile strategy. By making full use of the up-conversion characteristics of CQDs, the synthesized CQDs/TiO2 exhibited high catalytic activity under visible light. In order to recover the photocatalyst conveniently, CQDs/TiO2 and GO were mixed by ultrasound and loaded on 3D polyurethane foam (PUF) by the multiple impregnation method. It was found that GO, CQDs/TiO2, and PUF reveal synergistic effects on the dye adsorption and photocatalytic degradation processes. The fabricated 3D CQDs/TiO2/GO foam system with a stable structure can maintain a high photocatalytic degradation efficiency after using at least five times. It is expected that the fabricated 3D materials will have potential applications in the fields of oil water separation, the removal of oils, and the photothermal desalination of seawater.

  • Highly Luminescent Ternary Nanocomposite of Polyaniline, Silver Nanoparticles and Graphene Oxide Quantum Dots

    摘要: Quantum dots (QDs) with photostability show a potential application in optical sensing and biological imaging. In this work, ternary nanocomposite (NC) of high fluorescent polyaniline (PANI)/2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPSA) capped silver nanoparticles (NPs)/graphene oxide quantum dots (PANI/Ag (AMPSA)/GO QDs) have been synthesized by in situ chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline in the presence of Ag (AMpSA) nps and Go QDs. Ag (AMpSA) nps and Go QDs were prepared by AgNO3 chemical reduction and glucose carbonization methods, respectively. The prepared materials were characterized using UV-visible, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopies, X-Ray diffractometer (XRD) and high- resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). HRTEM micrographs confirmed the preparation of GO QDs with an average size of 15 nm and Ag (AMPSA) NPs with an average size of 20 nm. PANI/Ag (AMPSA)/GO QDs NC showed high and stable emission peak at 348 nm. This PANI/Ag (AMPSA)/GO QDs NC can emerge as a new class of fluorescence materials that could be suitable for practical sensing applications.

  • Electrochemiluminescent immunoassay for neuron specific enolase by using amino-modified reduced graphene oxide loaded with N-doped carbon quantum dots

    摘要: An ultrasensitive electrochemiluminescence based sandwich immunoassay is presented for determination of neuron specific enolase. The method uses silver-cysteine nanowires as the capture probe and a composite made of amino-modified reduced graphene oxide and nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots as the signal probe. It was synthesized by covalent coupling of amino-modified reduced graphene oxide to the carboxy groups of nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots. The nanowires possess a large specific surface and abundant functional groups which facilitate immobilizing the primary antibody (Ab1). The amino-modified reduced graphene oxide is employed as a carrier for loading a large number of the quantum dots and secondary antibody (Ab2). This increases the electrochemiluminescence intensity of quantum dots. Response to neuron specific enolase is linear in the 0.55 fg·mL?1 to 5.5 ng·mL?1 concentration range. It has a detection limit of 0.18 fg·mL?1 (at S/N = 3). The relative standard deviation (for n = 6) is less than 2.9%. The assay is highly sensitive, reproducible, selective and stable.
