摘要: This letter introduces a reconfigurable circularly polarized (CP) cross-dipole antenna fabricated on a double-layered printed circuit board (PCB) substrate for ISM band wireless communications. Unlike conventional cross-dipole antennas, the proposed cross dipole is designed with wide open ends such that both impedance and axial-ratio (AR) bandwidths are enhanced. In addition, to excite the CP radiation effectively, a curved-delay line providing an orthogonal phase difference among the cross-dipole elements is attached at the corners of the sequentially rotated elements. By choosing a proper radius of the curved-delay line, a wide input impedance of the antenna can be realized. In order to achieve polarization reconfiguration, diodes are added to the curved-delay line. The phase difference between the two orthogonal dipoles can be changed by controlling the current on the diode. The antenna is center-fed by a 50- coaxial cable and is placed above a square reflector to obtain a directional CP radiation pattern. With the advantage of centered feed, symmetric CP radiation patterns can be achieved across the entire operating bandwidth. An impedance bandwidth of about 43% (2.08GHz~3.22GHz) when the antenna operates in the left-hand circular polarization state, impedance bandwidth of about45% (2.06GHz~3.2GHz).The AR bandwidth of about 31.1% (2.28GHz~3.12GHz).An impedance bandwidth of about 44% (2.1GHz~3.3GHz) when the antenna operates in the right-hand circular polarization state, and simulated results of the impedance bandwidth of about47% (2.07GHz~3.35GHz).The AR bandwidth of about28.5% (2.35GHz~3.13GHz).

Electrically programmable multi-purpose nonvolatile metasurface based on phase change materials
摘要: We propose an electrically programmable nonvolatile metasurface working at near-IR frequency (λ=1550 nm) based on ITO/Ge2Sb2Te5-ITO/Au crossbar structure. The proposed metasurface can dynamically change its optical function by modulating the crystallization level of Ge2Sb2Te5, which is a phase change material, at each pixel position individually by controlled electrical pulses. We design and optimize the metasurface by using finite-difference time-domain simulations and numerically demonstrate various optical functions including beam steering devices, flat lenses, optical vortex generators, and metasurface holograms with a single device geometry.

A multistandard and resource-efficient Viterbi decoder for a multimode communication system
摘要: We present a novel standard convolutional symbols generator (SCSG) block for a multi-parameter reconfigurable Viterbi decoder to optimize resource consumption and adaption of multiple parameters. The SCSG block generates all the states and calculates all the possible standard convolutional symbols corresponding to the states using an iterative approach. The architecture of the Viterbi decoder based on the SCSG reduces resource consumption for recalculating the branch metrics and rearranging the correspondence between branch metrics and transition paths. The proposed architecture supports constraint lengths from 3 to 9, code rates of 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4, and fully optional polynomials. The proposed Viterbi decoder has been implemented on the Xilinx XC7VX485T device with a high throughput of about 200 Mbps and a low resource consumption of 162k logic gates.

摘要: A polarization reconfigurable magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna is presented. The ME dipole is fed by a pair of dipoles crossed through a 90° phase delay line. By controlling the state of the four p-i-n diodes that inserted in the crossed dipoles, the antenna can switch the polarization between LHCP and RHCP. A wide band and good radiation patterns can be realized by the proposed simple structure.

Antena impresa invertida reconfigurable en frecuencia a base de una microdescarga de plasma
摘要: This paper proposes the study of an inverted microstrip plasma-based reconfigurable antenna. The scope is to generate controlled microplasma inside the cavity between the antenna ground plane and its main conductor. This plasma will modify the resonant frequency of the antenna. The interest of using a plasma discharge as an active reconfigurable element is its switching time and mainly its capability of handling high microwave power. It was demonstrated, theoretically, that the reconfiguration frequency of a microstrip patch antenna with a microdischarge in its cavity, depends on the electron density of the plasma. Furthermore, a prototype of an X-Band inverted microstrip patch antenna, which integrates a microdischarge, was implemented. The measured frequency excursion for this prototype was 180 MHz.

Reconfigurable metasurface for multiple functions: magnitude, polarization and phase modulation
摘要: A novel reconfigurable metasurface for multiple functions is designed and investigated. The lattice of the metasurface is proposed to realize integrated absorption and polarization rotation and named as polarization conversion absorber (PCA). Then, lattices are arranged together to realize a certain function. Due to the independence of each lattice, the metasurface can present different performance based on different arrangement principle. Magnitude, polarization and phase modulation can be presented by manually arranging metasurface with 6 × 6 lattices. Both simulations and measurements prove that the proposed method provides a simple, flexible and effective strategy for multifunctional metasurface design.

An Electronically Mode Reconfigurable Orbital Angular Momentum Array Antenna
摘要: In this paper, an array antenna for generating multi-mode orbital angular momentum (OAM) vortex waves and having electrically controlled mode reconfigurable function is proposed. The proposed antenna is based on a reconfigurable feed network (RFN) consisting of multiple PIN diodes as reconfigurable switches, a direct current (dc) control board and a 2 × 4 radial uniform circular array. By controlling the coding sequence of the corresponding PIN diode dc bias voltage on the RFN using a programmable microcontroller, the OAM modes generated by the proposed antenna can be dynamically reconfigured between l = 0, ±1, and ±2. Moreover, the OAM beams can be generated in a wide frequency band of 5.5–6.1 GHz and 5.65–6.1GHz for l = ± 1, ±2 modes and l = 0 mode, respectively. The prototype of the proposed antenna is simulated and fabricated to validate the proposed design. Both far-field and near-field experiments were performed to verify the feasibility of the proposed design. The results of the numerical simulation and measurement have good agreement with each other.

摘要: In this paper, a new reconfigurable planar antenna structure operating for wireless applications is presented. The multiband antenna is based on varactor diodes in order to achieve the tuning of the frequency bands. This circuit is mounted on an FR-4 substrate with a thickness of 1.58 mm, dielectric constant of 4.4, tangent loss of 0.025 and fed by a microstrip line. The antenna is optimized and simulated by using CST-MW studio. This antenna has an area of 40x40 mm2.

DESIGN OF COMPACT RECONFIGURABLE BROADBAND BAND-STOP FILTER BASED ON A LOW-PASS FILTER USING HALF CIRCLE DGS RESONATOR AND MULTI-LAYER TECHNIQUE
摘要: This paper describes the design of a two-pole low-pass and band-stop ?lters. The low-pass structure is designed at the cuto? frequency of 2 GHz for the L-Band applications. This architecture uses half circle defected ground structure HCDGS instead full circle DGS resonator. Both the HCDGS shapes are etched in the ground plane and coupled via a substrate with a compensated capacitor. The rejection bandwidth of the LPF covers a large wideband spectrum. Therefore, the band suppression reaches more than 3f c. The ?lter is simulated and fabricated. The measured results are in good agreement with the full-wave simulated ones, showing the merits of compact size and sharp roll-o?. The multi-layer technique has been used in order to realize a transformation from low-pass behaviours to band-stop characteristics, keeping the same passband features. The new extracted band-stop topology is simulated and optimized using an RO4003 substrate with relative permittivity of 3.38 and thickness of h = 0.813 mm. The structure has a wide stopband with over 20 dB rejection from 3.5 GHz to 8.5 GHz. Such ?lters can be used for L-band and military applications.

Parasitic circular patch antenna with continuously tunable linear polarization using liquid metal alloy
摘要: This article presents a center-feed parasitic circular patch antenna with continuously tuning linear polarization performance. Eutectic gallium-indium liquid metal alloy is employed to tune the angle of linear polarization continuously. The antenna is feed at the center of a circular patch with a ring slot. The rotational symmetry of the antenna helps maintain the impedance and radiation pattern at different polarization angles. The liquid metal is contained in a 1 × 1 mm channel etched in a polymethyl methacrylate cylinder. The polarization angle is tuned by controlling the location of a short bar of EGaln. The center resonant frequency of the demonstrated antenna is 5.19 GHz with a ?10 dB impedance bandwidth of 0.24 GHz.
