Antena de Parche Cortocircuitado con Polarización Circular y Sentido de Giro Reconfigurable para Aplicaciones en Satélites de Reducido Tama?o
摘要: This paper presents the design and characterization of a circular microstrip patch antenna, fed by a hybrid quadrature coupler to achieve reconfigurable circular polarization. The radiating element has a radius of 20.3mm and the overall dimensions of the antenna are 76mm x 76mm X 2.03mm, suitable to attaching it to one of the faces of a satellite (CubeSat 1U). The measurement results of the prototype show a maximum gain of ??0 = 6,04?????? and axial ratio bandwidth of 48.56MHz (2%) respect to 2dB at the center frequency of ??0 = 2,44??????; an impedance bandwidth of 27.44% respect to the magnitude of the reflection coefficient of ??11 < ?10 ????, in the range of 2,295GHz to 3,025GHz at the center frequency of ??0 = 2,44??????.

摘要: A planar dynamically bifunctional metasurface is proposed to rebuild its scattering field as a convex or a concave mirror illusion. Generalized Snell’s law and phase compensation principle are used to analyze the proposed metasurface. A novel unit cell, with controlled reflection phase, is used to design the metasurface and transform electromagnetic illusion. The illusion performance of the presented metasurface is verified with simulation results. With the advantages of reconfigurability, low profile, and easy integration, the proposed metasurface can be widely used in the fields of electromagnetic metamaterials and scattering regulation.

Optical characterization of high and low resistive silicon samples suitable for reconfigurable antenna design
摘要: Highly resistive (HR) silicon (Si) can behave as a switch when illuminated by optical source of suitable wavelength. Different reconfigurable passive structures, such as filters, waveguides, and antennas, can be constructed using such silicon switches. This letter presents experimental characterization of high and low resistive (HR & LR) silicon for switching application. In the experiment, HR Si is modeled on a switched transmission line by halogen lamp and a laser source. The experiment of utilizing halogen lamp for Si switch characterization is cost-effective and can assist engineers in designing reconfigurable antennas. In future, this experiment could be utilized in designing novel reconfigurable antennas.

A Wideband Reconfigurable Folded Planar Dipole using MEMS and Hybrid Polymeric Substrates
摘要: A wideband reconfigurable folded planar dipole using hybrid polymeric substrates is proposed. Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) is a periodic structure composed of rectangular patches integrated with Jerusalem Cross (JSC) slots and being located in between two substrates. The Perfect Magnetic Conductor (PMC)-like behaviour of the AMC structure enabled the printed folded dipole to be placed near to the proposed structure, resulting in a low-profile antenna with 5.11 dB gain operating at 9.41 GHz. The combined use of the polymeric substrate and the proposed AMC resulted in a 1 GHz of bandwidth. The proposed antenna is capable in beam steering on the xz-plane via the integration of radio frequency (RF) MEMS switches placed on the antenna feeding transmission line. Simulations and measurements show a satisfactory agreement, with a beam steering capability at least 30 degrees, bandwidth of 1 GHz and maximum gain of 5.11 dB.

摘要: In this paper, a multiband pattern-reconfigurable Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) for Fifth Generation (5G) Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) mobile terminal is presented. A driven cross patch antenna surrounded by four PIFA elements are combined to form a Cross Patch Quadruple PIFA (CPQPIFA) to produce pattern reconfiguration. The direction of the radiation beam changes when the four metal shorting PIN diodes placed in between the driven cross patch antenna and the PIFA element are initiated separately. Activation of these four PIN diodes produces eight different beam directions at port 1 and port 2. The proposed CPQPIFA design is very versatile as it resonates at three frequency bands ranging from 22 GHz to 30 GHz while achieving reflection coefficient of less than -15dB. Besides that, a high isolation between two CPQPIFAs reduces the mutual coupling to result in an Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC) of less than 0.03. Along with its advantage in achieving stable pattern reconfiguration and low ECC, the proposed MIMO antenna is deemed suitable for future 5G mobile terminal application.

Complementary Black Phosphorus Tunneling Field-Effect Transistors
摘要: Band-to-band tunneling field-effect transistors (TFETs) have emerged as promising candidates for low-power integration circuits beyond conventional metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) and have been demonstrated to overcome the thermionic limit, that results intrinsically in subthreshold swings of at least 60 mV/dec at room temperature. Here we demonstrate complementary TFETs based on few-layer black phosphorus, in which multiple top gates create electrostatic doping in the source and drain regions. By electrically tuning the doping types and levels in the source and drain regions, the device can be reconfigured to allow for TFET or MOSFET operation and can be tuned to be n-type or p-type. Owing to proper choice of materials and careful engineering of device structures, record high current densities have been achieved in 2D TFETs. Full band atomistic quantum transport simulations of the fabricated devices agree quantitatively with the I-V measurements which gives credibility to the promising simulation results of ultra-scaled phosphorene TFETs. Using atomistic simulations, we project substantial improvements in the performance of the fabricated TFETs when channel thicknesses and oxide thicknesses are scaled down.

摘要: A 3-dB E-plane beam width (EPBW) reconfigurable dipole antenna is proposed in this paper. By introducing a tunable C-shape strip, the EPBW of the dipole antenna can switch in three different modes: narrow, middle and wide. Three pairs of PIN diodes are used for controlling. The beam width tuning range can be tuned by the position of two slots on the C-shape strip. This antenna is working at 2.6 GHz with overlap 10-dB band width of 4.8%. The 3-dB EPBW of the three modes are 77.6o, 90.7o and 168.3o. The antenna has low profile and simple structure for fabrication. The simulation shows good results of impedance matching and radiating.

摘要: This paper presents a steerable, circularly polarized planar antenna operating at 2.45 GHz. The design employs a central omni-directional circularly polarized active element surrounded by electronically controllable parasitic elements that are used to steer the beam in the desired direction. The proposed antenna is capable of steering the beam in an arbitrary direction. The antenna has a 3 dB gain and an axial ratio of less than 2 dB in the direction of radiation.

摘要: In this paper, a radiation pattern reconfigurable antenna is presented, which is able to switch between a bidirectional and a unidirectional radiation pattern. The proposed antenna is conceived from the characteristic mode analysis of two parallel metallic plates, with the same and different sizes. By means of two PIN diodes, the size of the lower plate of the two parallel metallic plates can be modified, changing the behavior of the radiation pattern. During the ON/OFF switching, the operating frequency is shifted, what is solved by introducing a varactor diode in the antenna. Thus, the operating frequency is adjusted for the switching state.

A Compact Ka-Band Integrated Doherty Amplifier With Reconfigurable Input Network
摘要: In this paper, we present the design of an ultracompact monolithic millimeter-wave integrated circuit Doherty power amplifier (DPA) using a novel reconfigurable input network at Ka-band. The proposed input network is formed by a compact broadside coupler and two additional field-effect transistors. By reconfiguring the relative phase offset between the main and auxiliary amplifiers, the DPA can be postoptimized to achieve high efficiency and maximal power gain flatness. More importantly, the DPA can be tuned for the highest performance at different frequencies. To verify the concept, a DPA is fabricated in a 0.15-μm enhancement mode Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) process and exhibits a measured output power of 26.5 dBm and gain of 11.8 dB at 28 GHz. The peak power-added efficiency (PAE) is 42%, and the PAE at 6-dB output power backoff (PBO) is 31%, respectively. With reconfigurable capability, the DPA can maintain high performance over a 3-GHz frequency band from 26.5 to 29.5 GHz. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the proposed DPA achieves among the highest backoff PAE over a wide bandwidth at Ka-band.
