Preparation of Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles in Salvia Macrosiphon Boiss seeds Extract and Investigation of Their Photo-catalytic Activities
摘要: Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CNPs) with desired particle size and spherical morphology were prepared from cerium nitrate in bio media of Salvia macrosiphon Boiss seeds extract, as a green synthesis route. Then they were characterized by XRD, UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopies, FESEM and TGA. Band gap energy of the prepared powders was also determined which was found in the range of 2.5 to 3.5 eV. Determination of DLS and zeta potential were showed that CNPs had small size and unique colloidal stability, respectively. Then the photo-catalytic activity of them was investigated by degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) dye as a model of waste water pollutants, under UV-irradiation and optimum conditions were evaluated. Results showed that decreasing the particle size increased the rate of photo-catalytic reaction remarkably but ascending the band gap energy, in contrast. The photo-catalytic mechanism was also studied by using different scavengers.

Equilibrium and kinetic modelling of adsorption of Rhodamine B on MoS2
摘要: The recent emergence of layered MoS2, which is an earth-abundant material, has gained increasing attention in various fields. In this work, MoS2 is fabricated via a simple hydrothermal method with different sulfur precursors. The effect of S source on the morphologies and adsorption capacities of Rhodamine B (RhB) onto MoS2 were investigated. The results indicated that the MoS2 prepared by CH4N2S exhibited the highest adsorption capacity. The N2 sorption isotherm indicated that the as-prepared MoS2-CH4N2S is a mesoporous microsphere. In addition, the adsorption process can be well described by the Langmuir isotherm model and the pseudo second-order model. The intra-particle diffusion model was also employed to analyze the adsorption mechanisms, which demonstrated that the intra-particle diffusion within the mesopores played an important role in the overall adsorption process. Based on these results, MoS2-CH4N2S obtained in this work can be served as a promising candidate for dye removal in wastewater.

Preyssler-based nanocomposite as a magnetic photocatalyst: synthesis, characterisation and its photocatalytic activity for decolourisation of rhodamine B
摘要: In this work, the authors prepared a novel magnetic photocatalyst by grafting of Preyssler-type polyoxometalate, H14 [NaP5 W30 O110] onto Fe3O4 nanoparticles via an internal layer of silver nanoparticles. The obtained nanocomposite has been characterised by electron dispersive X-ray, transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The activity of the synthesised nanomagnetic photocatalyst was tested by the photocatalytic decolourisation of rhodamine B under UV light irradiation in the study’s designed reactor. It was found that, compared to pure Preyssler, decolourisation of rhodamine B was occurred four times faster using the synthesised magnetic nanocomposite with easy separation. The magnetic nanocatalyst was separated after ending the reaction and recycled. It just showed 2–3% decrease in catalytic activity after four recycling.

Low-temperature preparation of a N-TiO2/macroporous resin photocatalyst to degrade organic pollutants
摘要: Highly active TiO2 photocatalysts prepared at a low temperature are promising reagents to degrade organic pollutants. Moreover, the addition of macroporous resins should overcome the poor adsorption properties of TiO2. Here we prepared N-doped TiO2/macroporous resin composites at low temperatures using a hydrothermal-assisted sol–gel method. The results show that the composites have a spherical appearance, which is controlled by the macroporous resin. The composites exhibit high specific surface areas, and the microstructure can be tuned by the temperature. N can be doped into the TiO2 crystal by substitution of oxygen at a lower temperature. N-doped TiO2 particles are distributed on the surface with a dominant crystal form of anatase. The composite prepared at 200 °C gave the best performance for the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B, with removal efficiency of 74.8% following 240-min irradiation.

Flame spray pyrolysis synthesized gold-loaded titanium dioxide photocatalyst for degradation of Rhodamine B
摘要: Gold-loaded titanium dioxide (Au-loaded TiO2) was synthesized by the flame spray pyrolysis method for using as photocatalyst. The synthesized Au-loaded TiO2 photocatalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) dye solution over synthesized Au-loaded TiO2 was studied. The concentration of RhB was determined by UV–Vis spectrophotometry. For the photocatalytic activity, it was found that Au(1.00 mol%)-loaded TiO2 was a better photocatalyst than others under the same reaction conditions. The optimal conditions for photocatalytic degradation of RhB were found to be 0.6 g/L of photocatalyst concentration under UV light irradiation (UV–C 254 nm). The highest kinetic rate constant of photocatalyst was 0.0057 min?1 at the optimum conditions and the mechanism of the photocatalytic process had also been discussed.

Enhanced Visible Light Photocatalytic Performance of G-C3N4 Photocatalysts Co-Doped with Gold and Sulfur for Degradation of Persistent Pollutant (Rhodamine B)
摘要: In order to overcome the intrinsic drawback of pristine g-C3N4, a nano-composite photo-catalyst Au/S-C3N4 with controllable nanoscale gold (Au) particles was successfully synthesized by a facile liquid chemical preparation process. It was found that the content of chloroauric acid (AuCl3·HCl·4H2O) play crucial role in both the diameter and the density of the Au nanoparticles. The results showed that as-prepared Au/S-C3N4 nanosheets with 2 wt% Au loaded content exhibited excellent photocatalytic decomposition of RhB under visible light irradiation as compared with other Au loadings (i.e., 1 wt%, 2 wt%, 3 wt%, 4 wt% and 6 wt%). The photocatalytic activity of Au/S-C3N4 with 2 wt% Au loading was twice higher than that of bare S-C3N4 (0.00955 min?1). The enhanced performance could be attributed to the synergic effect of gold and sulfur on g-C3N4. A possible mechanism for elucidating the better performance of Au/S-C3N4 is also proposed and discussed in detail in this work.

Synthesis of Highly Sensitive and Selective Probe for Fluorescent Detection of Chromium(III)
摘要: A new fluorescent probe capable of sensing Cr3+ has been synthesized. Complexing with Cr3+ triggers the formation of a highly fluorescent ring-open form which is pink in colour. The probe shows extremely high fluorescence enhancement upon complexation with Cr3+ and it can be used as a ‘naked eye’ probe.

Spectrophotometic Determination of Trace Zinc in Milk Powder by Ethyl Rhodamine B
摘要: In the presence of the surfactant gum Arabic, the Zn(II)-SCN–-ERB (ERB = ethyl rhodamine-B) ternary chromogenic reaction system was studied. The results showed that, in the acetic acid-sodium acetate medium of pH 5.0, Zn(II)-SCN–-ERB forms a rose red complex of 1:4:2 at room temperature. The complex has a maximum absorption wavelength of 625 nm, a zinc content of 0.16-8.00 μg/25 mL conforming to the Lambert-Beer’s law, a molar absorption coefficient ε625 of 1.02 × 105 L mol-1 cm-1 and a detection limit of 0.045 μg/25 mL. Using this method to determine the trace zinc in milk powder, the relative standard deviation is less than 2 % and the results are satisfactory.
