Nonlinear control of M-typed solitons in dispersion management systems
摘要: As the optical transmission system is developing in the direction of ultra-high speed and ultra-long distance, the dispersion and nonlinearity of optical ?bers has an increasing in?uence on signal transmission. In this paper, the variable-coe?cient higher-order nonlinear Schr?dinger equation is studied to investigate the e?ect of nonlinearity on soliton transmission in dispersion management systems. Analytic soliton solution is derived, and M-typed solitons are observed. The improvement of system performance is analyzed. In addition, a nonlinear control method is proposed based on the analysis of corresponding parameters.

Optical Solitons and Stability Analysis in Ring-Cavity Fiber System with Carbon Nanotube as Saturable Absorber
摘要: This paper addresses the ring-cavity ?ber laser system. A class of gray and black soliton solutions of the model are reported by adopting an appropriate envelope ansatz. Further more, the modulation instability (MI) of the equation is studied using the linear-stability analysis (LSA) technique and the MI gain spectrum is derived. Some physical interpretations and analysis of the results obtained are also presented.

Dispersive solitons in optical metamaterials having parabolic form of nonlinearity
摘要: This paper studies solitons in highly dispersive optical metamaterials with cubic–quintic nonlinearity in presence of detuning, inter-moda dispersion, self-steepening and nonlinear dispersion. Three forms of integration scheme retrieved solitons and other solutions to the model that included snoidal and snoidal waves. These algorithms retrieved bright, dark, singular as well as dark-singular combo solitons along with their respective existence criteria.

Generation of breathing solitons in the propagation and interactions of Airy–Gaussian beams in a cubic–quintic nonlinear medium
摘要: Using the split-step Fourier transform method, we numerically investigate the generation of breathing solitons in the propagation and interactions of Airy–Gaussian (AiG) beams in a cubic–quintic nonlinear medium in one transverse dimension. We show that the propagation of single AiG beams can generate stable breathing solitons that do not accelerate within a certain initial power range. The propagation direction of these breathing solitons can be controlled by introducing a launch angle to the incident AiG beams. When two AiG beams accelerated in opposite directions interact with each other, different breathing solitons and soliton pairs are observed by adjusting the phase shift, the beam interval, the amplitudes, and the light ?eld distribution of the initial AiG beams.

Soliton Aided Propagation and Routing of Vortex Beams in Nonlocal Media
摘要: Two-dimensional optical vortex beams can propagate stably and undergo bending in nonlocal media with the aid of a spatial soliton, the latter preventing their destabilization and breakup. By colaunching a suitable pair of collinear soliton and vortex beams in nematic liquid crystals, we conduct a series of numerical experiments to demonstrate that the vortex beam can be made to propagate in the nematicon waveguide and follow its trajectory, even in the cases of refraction and total internal reflection at a dielectric interface. Modulation theory supports these findings and provides an excellent theoretical framework.

Fractional effects on solitons in a 1D array of rectangular ferroelectric nanoparticles
摘要: In this paper, we present non-local effects on solitons in a one-dimensional (1D) array of ferroelectric nanoparticles. Using the discrete tangent hyperbolic method, several fractional function solutions are obtained such as fractional hyperbolic, trigonometric and rational function solutions. As results, we derive many solitons such as dark, bright and rogue waves. We show that the fractional parameter α has an effect on the width and on the amplitude of the above-obtained solitons. Their width and their amplitude are modified by the value of the fractional parameter α. Fractional derivative has a memory effect on ferroelectric nanoparticles. Applications of the obtained results are also presented.

摘要: This paper investigates the soliton solutions to nonlinear Schr¨odinger (NLS) equation with anti-cubic nonlinearity in non-kerr media. The complex form of the NLSE has been reduced to nonlinear ordinary di?erential equation (ODE) using soliton ansatz. By implementing two techniques, namely, improved projective Riccati equations method and new mapping method, the ODE is solved analytically. Consequently, various types of solitons such as bright, dark, singular, dark-singular optical soliton solutions are obtained.

Propagation of few-cycle pulses in a nonlinear medium and an integrable generalization of the sine-Gordon equation
摘要: The generalized sine-Gordon equation is obtained under the theoretical investigation of interaction of few-cycle pulses in a nonlinear medium modeled by a set of four-level atoms. This equation is derived without the use of the slowly varying envelope approximation and is shown to be integrable in the frameworks of the inverse scattering transformation method. Its solutions describing the propagation of the solitons and breathers and their interaction are investigated. In the case of different signs of the parameters of the equation considered, it is revealed, in particular, that the collision of solitons with opposite polarities can lead to an appearance of the short-living pulse having extraordinarily large amplitude, whose dynamics is similar to that of rogue waves. Also, the solitons of “rectangular” form and the breathers with rectangular oscillations exist in the case of the same signs of the parameters.

Gap solitons and forced snaking
摘要: We introduce the phenomenon known as forced snaking to the study of gap solitons and use this notion to identify two distinct bifurcation diagrams organizing such solitons in the semi-infinite gap of the continuous cubic-quintic Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a spatially periodic potential. Standard snaking is found for small interpotential or lattice spacing while foliated snaking is present for large spacing. In each case, we determine the stability of the symmetric onsite and off-site solitons and show that multisoliton solutions of both types are stabilized when the spacing is sufficiently large, effectively quenching the interaction between the solitons. Finally, we show that the solitons unbind from the potential when subjected to sufficiently large asymmetric or symmetric perturbations and use direct numerical simulation to investigate their breakup and associated radiative losses as they propagate. A strongly nonlinear theory that captures key aspects of the depinning dynamics is provided.
