摘要: This paper presents a detailed overview of an experimental passive radar payload developed by ONERA the French Aerospace Lab., which improves the performances of VHF passive radar by using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) as support of the receiver. This article highlights the passive radar design which is based on techniques inspired from modern digital receivers combining front-end digitizer and FPGA-based real time data signal processing.

摘要: In this paper, a comparative study of spaceborne Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-Reflectometry for ship detection applications is provided. The analysis is conducted by evaluating the impact of 1) the acquisition geometry and 2) the received signal polarization on ship detectability in GNSS-R data. In particular, the backscattering acquisition geometry is demonstrated to be more suitable for ship detection applications, thus allowing for the detection of 20 m-length ships. Even very large ships are hardly detectable in the conventional forward-scattering geometry. Moreover, receiving right-hand circular polarization is demonstrated to provide significant improvements of the signal-to-noise-plus-clutter with respect to the conventional left-hand circular polarization channel, conventionally exploited in GNSS-R remote sensing. The study is based on a numerical tool for the bistatic radar cross section of the ship, which is presented in a companion paper.

摘要: Modern smart surveillance systems have to deal with heterogeneous surveillance devices and the huge size of the video surveillance data. The surveillance data also contains sensitive and personal information and, hence, the security of the surveillance data is a demanding requirement. Owing to the large data size of the surveillance videos, conventional security measures cannot possibly be applied to all of the video surveillance data and, consequently, this presents a signi?cant challenge within the resource constraints and dynamics of the emerging Internet of Things (IoT). Therefore, appropriate and automated intelligent systems need to be adopted for management, secure transmission, secure storage, and ef?cient retrieval of the ever-increasing surveillance video data. In this paper, an intelligent surveillance security framework for videos is proposed. The proposed framework for real-time video processing is integrated with surveillance video semantic concepts to provide an effective and ef?cient solution for selection, implementation, and manipulation of heterogeneous surveillance devices. The aim is to create a core, Secure Smart Surveillance Ontology (SSSO) to represent and share the common vocabularies for secure communication and storage of surveillance video for different surveillance devices, with an ontology being the explicit formal representation of basic categories within the domain. Firstly, different security levels are de?ned with respect to heterogeneous devices on the basis of their respective storage capacity to ensure suf?cient encryption details with minimal resources used. Secondly, in the proposed ontology, device-speci?c security concepts are linked with the surveillance video concepts. After that the proposed SSSO is integrated within the security framework. Overall, the proposed security framework allows relatively fast indexing and retrieval along with device-speci?c security.

摘要: This letter is concerned with experimental results of aircraft positioning by using terrestrial digital broadcasting signal delay. Passive bistatic radar (PBR) is expected to be a conventional primary surveillance radar alternative, and it can also achieve expanding coverage area of the conventional radar. The PBR sensors allow the detection and tracking of noncooperative targets illuminated by transmitters of opportunity such as communication systems [digital terrestrial television broadcasting (DTTB), AM/FM, 3G/LTE base stations, etc.] or conventional radar system. Especially, the DTTB signals are the most expected radio waves. In this letter, we show experimental results of aircraft positioning by using the signal delay profile of DTTB whose type is Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting–Terrestrial (ISDB-T) used in Japan. It will be shown that the ISDB-T signal delays are useful surveillance systems.

Wavelength- and Intensity-Demodulated Dual-Wavelength Fiber Laser Sensor for Simultaneous RH and Temperature Detection
摘要: In a typical radar system, the same hypothesis testing problem is periodically repeated to constantly monitor the scene: this results in a fundamental tradeoff between integration time and scan rate. In this paper, we propose a novel design criterion for radar systems, which carefully balances the contrasting requirements for a large probability of detection, a small probability of false alarm, and a short scan time. In particular, our goal is to maximize the detection rate, defined as the average number of detections per unit of time, under a constraint on the false alarm rate, defined as the average number of false alarms per unit of time. Some examples modeling situations commonly encountered in the radar applications are presented to illustrate the effects of this design philosophy.

摘要: Mobile video surveillance applications are used widely nowadays. They offer real-time video monitoring for homes, offices, warehouses, airports, and so on with live and pre-recorded on-demand video streaming. Quality of service (QoS) remains a key challenge faced by most of these applications. In this article, we propose an architecture for mobile video surveillance applications with a guaranteed and differentiated QoS support. The architecture relies on the 3GPP 4G evolved packet core (EPC). The main components are the QoS enabler, media server, and machine-to-machine gateway and surveillance application. To demonstrate its feasibility, a proof of concept prototype has been implemented and deployed. We also took measurements to evaluate the performance. Several lessons were learned. For instance, multimedia frameworks must allow for buffering controls in media streaming to reduce live streaming delay. In addition, we have learned that publicly available materials related to the EPC prototyping platform we have used (i.e., OpenEPC) are scarce. This has made our prototyping task rather difficult.

摘要: A number of techniques have recently been proposed for privacy preserving in video surveillance. Most of them are irreversible or have interference effect to the observation and recognition of human activities. In this paper, we address these issues by developing an effective method including face detection and encryption. In face detection, skin-color based approach fusing with fuzzy clustering is produced to detect facial candidates coarsely, and then we re?ne face by using SVM classi?er. In face encryption, a reversible hybrid encryption (decryption) scheme based on spatial and value scrambling models is proposed. Simulation results verify the proposed mechanism can effectively detect and obscure faces while leaving the activities comprehensible and has high key sensibility for reducing the probability of attacking.

摘要: Railway line surveillance is important for providing safe and smooth travel of trains under effects of environmental or human-generated damages to the railway. This work presents a Structure from Motion pipeline specifically designed with the aim of supporting the monitoring operations of the railway infrastructure using a monocular camera mounted on the train’s tractor. Within this work we developed a dynamical reconstruction instrument based on the mathematics of the projective geometry for handling the problem of localization, by triangulation techniques of points, lines, whole objects and of other known elements. Exploiting the a-priori knowledge of the scene structure (known track gauge) and the camera intrinsic parameters it is possible to reconstruct in metric dimension the trajectory of the train and the position of the detected object. The approach proposed here combines Computer Vision techniques to detect the significant elements and to classify a set of features with Bayesian filtering. Algorithms for this specific purpose have been developed in order to identify the rail track geometry, and a line-based approach has been adopted to assess the camera poses. Starting from these first estimates, a manifold Unscented Kalman Filter operates on the set of robustly matched features, fusing heterogeneous cues about the camera orientation and using RANSAC to find the best solution. Consequently, the detected objects can be triangulated and localized. An analysis using real captures is reported to prove the quality of the results obtained.
