摘要: In this paper, a novel ultra wideband (UWB) 3-dB coupler at X and Ku band based on ridged half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (RHMSIW) and embedded the shape of metal groove is designed, fabricated, and measured, which is widely used in microwave and millimeter wave circuits. The structural parameters of new UWB RHMSIW 3-dB coupler with three cascading metal groove cells are analyzed. The structure is simulated with a relative bandwidth of 48% at the center frequency of 15 GHz. The measured results show that the proposed RHMSIW coupler keeps good performance of the HMSIW coupler. Simulated results are in agreement with the measured results. The results show that the novel UWB RHMSIW 3-dB coupler can provide better performance and have a smaller size compared with reported couplers, which illustrates its application in the wideband millimeter wave systems.

摘要: A wideband substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filtering power divider (FPD) is presented in this paper. It works in the C band. The FPD used two SIW rectangular cavities and one half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) triangular cavity cascade and centered at 7.5GHz with fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 10.6%.The design parameters of the presented FPD are given and the simulated results are proposed with good expectations. This FPD meets the requirements for miniaturization and integration with other microwave circuits.

摘要: A wideband coupler based on half-mode ridge substrate integrated waveguide (HMRSIW) is designed in this paper. The coupler utilizes a gradual slot on wide-wall to couple. The measured coupling bandwidth is 49.8%. The return loss and isolation are better than 20dB from 11.76GHz to 17.88GHz.

Wideband Substrate Integrated Waveguide Fed Open Slot Antenna Array
摘要: This work investigates the use of substrate integrated waveguide fed open slot antenna (WOSA) in an array for the first time to provide a new SIW slot antenna array with wide bandwidth and single-layer structure. The antenna array consists of 4 × 2 substrate integrated WOSA elements as a radiating part and two 1-to-4 SIW power dividers as the feeding network. The whole array is differentially fed and built on a single-layered laminate. To demonstrate the wideband performance of the substrate integrated WOSA elements, two sets of feeding networks designed at different frequencies are used to feed the same radiating part. In this way, a V-band and a W-band array were built. Both the antenna arrays were fabricated and measured. Benefiting from the excellent performance of the substrate integrated WOSA elements, the antenna array achieves a wide bandwidth of 32.3% (54.0 to 74.8 GHz) with a peak gain varies from 11.3 to 15.6 dBi. It has been demonstrated that the substrate integrated WOSA array can achieve a wide bandwidth with a single-layer structure, which is attractive for millimeter-wave applications.

摘要: A wideband bandpass filter is proposed in this paper, the filter combine half-mode corrugated substrate integrated waveguide (HMCSIW) with improved dumbbell defected ground structures (DGSs). The HMCSIW technique can operate similarly with the traditional half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW). Differently, it provides a completely floating conductor without metallic via holes. Combining two technologies together, a design of HMCSIW wideband bandpass filter (BPF) is proposed in the paper. The presented BPFs can operate in a wide band without a short circuit between different metal layers and will be widely used in integration with other RF circuits.

摘要: Since the isolation of graphene monolayers in 2004, attention has turned to embedding this 2D material into optical components such as modulators, frequency convertors and optical clocks. Indeed, graphene exhibits some remarkable optical properties such as wideband optical absorption in both normal-incidence (free-space applications) and grazing-incidence (waveguide based applications), intrinsic supporting of surface plasmon polariton (SPP) waves, and a full catalogue of non-linear optical behaviors including saturable absorption and multiple-photon mixing phenomena. These optical properties can be activated and deactivated for a given free space wavelength by “doping” graphene using the same gating techniques developed for solid state electronics; for example, in the case of absorption modulation, one must shift the Fermi level such that its separation from the Dirac point in energy (called the chemical potential) is equal to at least half the photon energy in order to render graphene transparent. Nonetheless, as an atomically thin monolayer, graphene’s limited interaction with light in free space restricts its absorption to 2.3% across a wide spectral range for undoped samples.

摘要: A conformal permeable toroidal antenna operating in both a vertically polarized monopole mode and circularly polarized (CP) dipole mode in the UHF frequency range is designed based on theory of magneto-dielectric radiators. This antenna has been fabricated using a new advanced ferromagnetic laminate composite material whose high impedance and anisotropic properties enable an antenna that radiates via magnetic currents. The antenna, less than 0.5 m in diameter and less than 2 cm thick, was fabricated and tested. Including the imperfections of the feed network and a simple matching scheme, the antenna operates from 200 to 500 MHz with an input match of better than 10 dB, CP dipole realized gain as high as 2 dBi, and monopole mode vertically polarized gain as high as 1 dBi.

摘要: This work presents a 60 GHz octa-core push-push VCO in a 45 nm partially depleted (PD) Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) CMOS technology. We investigate the feasibility of coupling eight VCO cores via resonant-tank transformers and discuss circuit topology considerations. The measured phase noise at 63.4 GHz is (cid:2)95.3 dB/Hz at 1 MHz offset from carrier. The continuous frequency-tuning range is 19 %. The eight VCO cores consume in total 80 mW DC power. The complete circuit, including buffers at the fundamental and second harmonic outputs, draws 158 mA from a single 1 V supply. The total area of the octa-core VCO excluding pads is 0.18 mm2.

摘要: The high precision ranging using ultra wideband (UWB) signals is expected for various applications. However, UWB requires mitigation of narrowband interference (NBI) from other wireless systems. There have been many studies of adaptive notch ?lters to cope with NBI at various frequencies. This paper proposes a novel NBI mitigation method which utilizes frequency dependence characteristics in array antennas. We use power inversion to direct nulls to large-power input, which realizes NBI only suppression with a small calculation cost. The results show that the proposed method can obtain lower bit error rate. The proposed method can cope with variously directional and multiple-frequency NBIs without a priori knowledge of the incident waves.
