  • Hydrogen peroxide detection with a silver nanoparticle grating chip fabricated by plasmonic plating

    摘要: An optical detection of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is proposed, using grating structures of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). Periodic line structures of AgNPs are deposited on a gold nanoparticle (AuNP)-decorated glass plate using an interference exposure with a green laser beam, based on the plasmonic plating method. This AgNP grating chip diffracts incident light, and the diffraction efficiency is dependent on the amount of AgNPs. By applying a drop of H2O2 solution onto the chip, the diffraction intensity declines due to the autocatalytic decomposition of AgNPs. A portable measurement system of the diffraction intensity change is constructed, and the H2O2 detection in the concentration range 6.7 – 668 μmol/L is performed in 2 min simply by dropping the H2O2 solution onto the substrate.

    摘要: Achieving truthful reproduction of color is a well-known problem for printing applications. In this paper, we evaluate different methods for camera color calibration, within the scope of a moving image acquisition system. The acquisition device consists of a RGB camera and two fixed tungsten lamps. Our goal is to determine the most robust end-to-end framework given the acquisition conditions. We tested some color mapping methods commonly mentioned in the literature and made modifications to our specific needs. Our modified 3D lookup table (LUT) based method performs the best in the given conditions with future possibilities of hybrid LUTs combining the best performing aspects of different types of LUTs.

    摘要: A method is sought to find the measurement volume instrument for particle measurement is sought. The study shows that the measurement volume depends on a combination of the optical homogeneity of the illumination light and the camera system. The result from a mix of illumination cases and positions shows that, if the true size and the background brightness are known, the measurement volume can be determined with an average precision of four percent using a dual term exponential fit. Using a lens with lower magnification increases the measurement volume since both the field of view and the depth of field increase. However, a larger field of view increases the required amount of light as well as the sensitivity to other optical errors.

  • Coaxial laser triangulation for height monitoring in laser metal deposition

    摘要: The control of the height parameter plays a crucial role in the laser metal deposition (LMD) process. A mismatch between the deposition height increment and the process growth rate can generate geometrical inaccuracies as well as collisions. The paper presents a method based on triangulation for monitoring in-line the height on a LMD system composed of a coaxial deposition head, an anthropomorphic robot and a fiber laser. The measurement device is implemented within the deposition head, with a probe laser beam that is launched coaxially through the nozzle and focused directly on the melt pool at different positions depending on the standoff distance. The position of the probe spot is acquired through a coaxial camera and converted in relative height values. The system is demonstrated for the distance measurement over a range of some millimeters during the deposition of AISI 316L stainless steel. This method allows for high flexibility being independent on the deposition direction.
