摘要: In this paper, influences of surface Cr2O3 coating treatment on ceramic vacuum interface under a long pulse-duration voltage are reported. The surface properties of the treated ceramics have been measured by SEM, LSCM and XRD methods. Compared with the original untreated ceramics, the treated ceramic has a smoother surface, a lower SEE coefficient and a lower surface resistivity. As a result, a higher surface flashover voltage has been obtained. The surface treatment is an easy and convenient method to improve surface flashover characteristics of ceramic vacuum interface under a long pulse-duration high voltage.

Copper electrodeposition on silicon electrodes
摘要: A two-step process is reported for the electrochemical deposition of copper layers on n-type silicon substrates using an acidic copper sulphate solution without addition of additives and no light assistance. Metal layers were generated on electrodes with different crystal orientations. The process consists of a combination of two very common techniques: chronoamperometry and pulse plating. The former technique is applied to obtain an instantaneous nucleation on the working electrode. Therefore, a large amount of metal nuclei is formed on the substrate before the pulse technique starts. The latter is, then, used to grow the particles previously generated and form a homogeneous metal layer with full coverage onto the semiconductor electrodes. The potential magnitudes are carefully chosen in line with energy levels observed at the semiconductor-electrolyte interface and were also calculated in this work.

Graphene veils: A versatile surface chemistry for sensors
摘要: Thin spun-coat films (~4 nm thick) of graphene oxide (GO) constitute a versatile surface chemistry compatible with a broad range of technologically important sensor materials. Countless publications are dedicated to the nuances of surface chemistries that have been developed for sensors, with almost every material having unique characteristics. There would be enormous value in a surface chemistry that could be applied generally with functionalization and passivation already optimized regardless of the sensor material it covered. Such a film would need to be thin, conformal, and allow for multiple routes toward covalent linkages. It is also vital that the film permit the underlying sensor to transduce. Here we show that GO films can be applied over a diverse set of sensor surfaces, can link biomolecules through multiple reaction pathways, and can support cell growth. Application of a graphene veil atop a magnetic sensor array is demonstrated with an immunoassay. We also present biosensing and material characterization data for these graphene veils.

摘要: The use of infrared thermography has become the theme of studies in several areas of the construction industry. However, research studies on detecting the presence of moisture in buildings are still under development. The main objective of this article was to study the feasibility of the use of thermography in the detection of infiltrations due to accidental causes in internal walls. The methodology consisted of the construction of masonry walls made of ceramic bricks with different coating configurations: uncoated, with plaster, plaster with latex paint, plaster with acrylic base paint and plaster with ceramic set with plaster glue. In each prototype, a drilled pipe was inserted to simulate water leaks. The infiltration progress was verified by means of thermograms, for a period of 2 hours with constant flow, and at 48 hours and one week after the beginning of the simulation. The results confirm that thermography may be effective in detecting the region containing the focus of hidden infiltration, provided the coating is not impermeable. This fact can be observed in the thermal gradients produced in the porous coatings, where ΔT ranged from 2.6 to 3.8 ° C, whereas coatings with waterproof characteristics had a maximum ΔT of 2.2 °C. In addition, the type of coating directly influences the time required for the appearance of the moisture spot to become apparent.

The Effects of the Content of NiO on the Microstructure and Photocatalytic Activity of the NiO/TiO2 Composite Film
摘要: The NiO/TiO2 composite films with the NiO content of 3 %, 5 %, 10 %, 13 %, 15 % and 20 % were prepared by mechanical coating technology and subsequent oxidation process. The composition and microstructure of the films were analyzed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The photocatalytic activity was evaluated and the effects of the content of NiO on microstructure and photocatalytic activity of the films were studied. The results show that NiO particles are dispersed in the Ti coatings, and the NiO concentration in the inner layer of the coatings is higher than in the outer layer. With the addition of NiO in the NiO/Ti coating, the ductility is deteriorated and the thickness is reduced of the NiO/Ti coatings. The films with NiO/TiO2/Ti composite microstructure are obtained by the oxidation of NiO/Ti coatings. Photocatalytic efficiency of the films is obviously enhanced with the help of the p-n junction heterostructure in the NiO/TiO2 films. The optimum content of NiO is about 13 %, and the degradation rate of methyl orange solution reaches the maximum value of 88.44 %.

Particle atomic layer deposition
摘要: The functionalization of fine primary particles by atomic layer deposition (particle ALD) provides for nearly perfect nanothick films to be deposited conformally on both external and internal particle surfaces, including nanoparticle surfaces. Film thickness is easily controlled from several angstroms to nanometers by the number of self-limiting surface reactions that are carried out sequentially. Films can be continuous or semi-continuous. This review starts with a short early history of particle ALD. The discussion includes agitated reactor processing, both atomic and molecular layer deposition (MLD), coating of both inorganic and polymer particles, nanoparticles, and nanotubes. A number of applications are presented, and a path forward, including likely near-term commercial products, is given.

Thermal shocking resistance of AlCrNO-based solar selective absorbing coating prepared by cathodic arc plating
摘要: Thermal shocking resistance is an important property of the solar selective absorber coating applied in solar power plant. In this paper, we reported the thermal shocking resistance of AlCrNO-based solar selective absorbing coating which was prepared by cathodic arc plating. The coating endured 100 cycles of thermal shocking test, and in each cycle, the sample was heated to 600 °C at a heating rate over 200 °C/min and then cool down to room temperature at a cooling rate over 150 °C/min. After 100 cycles, optical properties, morphologies, elements, phase structure, and surface roughness of the sample were detected by spectrophotometers, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and atomic force microscope (AFM). According to the results, α/ε of the sample after thermal shocking test changed from 0.93/0.20 to 0.94/0.21, which expressed that the coating possessed perfect thermal shocking resistance. Similar to the sample after thermal aging test, the content of nitride of the coating increased, and threshold of reflectance shifted red. But reflectance pattern of the sample after thermal shocking test was different from it of the sample after thermal aging test because micro defects appeared on the surface of the coating after thermal shocking test.

Improved thermal stability of Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ phosphor by SiO2 coating
摘要: In this paper, a heterogeneous precipitation method was adopted to coat a SiO2 layer on the surface of Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ phosphor. The surface morphologies, crystal phases, defect concentrations, luminescent properties and thermal stability of coated phosphors were investigated and compared with those of uncoated phosphor. A compact and homogeneous SiO2 layer on the surface of phosphor was determined by SEM-EDS, TEM, XRD and FT-IR results. Two thermoluminescent peaks were found at 112 oC and 248 oC on the thermoluminescence spectrum. Their intensities decreased slowly with the increasing coating amounts. It indicated that their corresponding defect concentrations were gradually reduced. Improved thermal stability was obtained by SiO2 coating in spite of a slight weakening of the emission intensity. The optimum theoretical coating amount was identified as 4%. Moreover, a structural modification mechanism on improved thermal stability of SiO2 coated Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ was proposed.

Fabrication of UV-curable solvent-free epoxy modified silicone resin coating with high transparency and low volume shrinkage
摘要: A type of solvent-free transparent epoxy modified silicone resin coating with high transparency and low volume shrinkage was produced by UV curing method. The features of the UV curing process were studied. The performances of the silicone coating obtained such as transparency, thermal stability and the volume shrinkage were also investigated in detail, which expressed that the materials obtained were with good thermal stability, good adhesive ability and fairly low volume shrinkage.

On the anomaly in the electrical characteristics of thin film transistors with multi-layered sol-gel processed ZnO
摘要: A set of bottom-gate Zinc Oxide (ZnO) thin film transistors (TFTs) with active layers containing 1, 4 and 8 layers of spin-coated ZnO were fabricated and their electrical characteristics such as transistor transfer and capacitance-voltage characteristics were analyzed. The transconductance of the single-layered ZnO transistor shows a single peak. On the other hand, multiple peaks and humps were observed in the transconductance and capacitance-voltage characteristics of multi-layered ZnO transistors. The multi-layers were grown by reiteration of the spin-coating process, producing ZnO-ZnO interlayer-interfaces. The surface of the ZnO layer in contact with the ambient contains active sites, resulting in chemisorption of ambient gases such as oxygen prior to the deposition of subsequent layers. The chemisorbed species become negatively-charged and form charge sheets, depleting the surface/interface region. It was proposed that the formation of depletion layers at ZnO-ZnO interlayer-interfaces is the main cause for the observed anomaly.
