    摘要: In this research, silica nanoparticles are coated over the solar PV module glass to acquire super hydrophilic, antireflective and highly transparent surface. Silane precursor mixed with air sprayed on the substrate by aerosol deposition method. Pressure difference between the plasma chamber and the substrate is tuned by the introduction of helium gas, which results in good control over layer thickness and refractive indices. Due to the porous nature and graded index of coated film, the transmittance of glass substrate is increased from 91% to 99.2%. Surface topology of coated film is studied by AFM shows excellent antifogging and super-hydrophilic nature attributed to roughness and nano-porosity of coated film. Moreover, the super-hydrophilic nature endows these coatings with self-cleaning properties, which further enhances the overall efficiency of solar PV modules.

  • Fluorolytic Sol–Gel Synthesis of Nanometal Fluorides: Accessing New Materials for Optical Applications

    摘要: The potential of fluorolytic sol–gel synthesis for a wide variety of applications in the field of optical materials is reviewed. Based on the fluorolytic sol–gel synthesis of nanometal fluorides, sols of complex fluorometalates have become available that exhibit superior optical properties over known classical binary metal fluorides as, for instance, magnesium fluoride, calcium fluoride, or strontium fluoride, respectively. The synthesis of transparent sols of magnesium fluoroaluminates of the general composition MgxAlFy, and fluoroperovskites, [K1?xNax]MgF3, is reported. Antireflective coatings fabricated from MgF2, CaF2, MgxAlFy, and [K1?xNax]MgF3 sols and their relevant properties are comprehensively described. Especially the heavier alkaline earth metal fluorides and the fluorperovskites crystallizing in a cubic crystal structure are excellent hosts for rare earth (RE) metals. Thus, the second chapter reflects the synthesis approach and the properties of luminescent systems based on RE-doped alkaline earth metal fluorides and [K1?xNax]MgF3 phases.

  • Fabrication of Luminescent Antireflective Coatings with CaMoO4:Eu3+/Ag Composite Structure

    摘要: Highly transparent and luminescent CaMoO4:Eu3+/Ag composite films were fabricated on glass substrates as multifunctional antireflective (AR) coatings. The films were deposited through a combination of a sol–gel dip-coating technique and a hot water treatment. With the addition of an aluminum source in coating solutions, the sol–gel-derived films underwent a remarkable microstructural change during the hot water treatment due to the reaction between an amorphous alumina phase and water. This change brought both an antireflective effect (suppression of Fresnel reflection) and luminescence enhancement (suppression of total internal reflection) to the films. The introduction of Ag nanoparticles into the films further increased luminescence intensity without losing the antireflective effect.
