  • Simultaneous Determination of Clarithromycin, Tinidazole and Omeprazole in Helicure Tablets Using Reflectance Near-Infrared Spectroscopy with the Aid of Chemometry

    摘要: A near infrared spectroscopic method for the simultaneous determination of the active principles clarithromycin, tinidazole and omeprazole in a pharmaceutical preparation was developed. The three active principles are quantified using partial least-squares regression methods. The proposed method is applicable over a wide analyte concentration range (80–120%) of labeled content, so it requires careful selection of the calibration set and to ensure thorough homogenization of the product. The method was validated in accordance with the ICH standard validation guidelines for NIR spectroscopy by determining its selectivity, linearity, accuracy, precision and stability. Based on the results, it is an effective alternative to the existing choice (HPLC) for the same purpose.

  • GOCE star tracker attitude quaternion calibration and combination

    摘要: We analyse the inter-boresight angles (IBA) measured by the star trackers on board the GOCE satellite and find that they exhibit small offsets of 7–900 with respect to the ones calculated from the rotation of the star tracker reference frames to the satellite reference frame. Further, we find small variations in the offsets with a peak-to-peak amplitude of up to 800, which correlate with variations of the star trackers’ temperatures. Motivated by these findings, we present a method for combining the attitude quaternions measured by two or more star trackers that includes an estimation of relative attitude offsets between star trackers as a linear function of temperature. The method was used to correct and combine the star tracker attitude quaternions within the reprocessing of GOCE data performed in 2018. We demonstrate that the IBA calculated from the corrected star tracker attitude quaternions show no significant offsets with respect to the reference frame information. Finally, we show that neglecting the star tracker attitude offsets in the processing would result in perturbations in the gravity gradients that are visible at frequencies below 2 mHz and have a magnitude of up to 90 mE. The presented method avoids such perturbations to a large extent.

  • A Phase-Calibration Method for Vector-Sum Phase Shifters Using a Self-Generated LUT

    摘要: This paper presents a new self-calibration method for vector-sum phase shifters (PS) to compensate for process variations and achieve reconfigurable operating frequency. The calibration system generates a look-up table for the control voltages of the variable-gain amplifiers of the PS to minimize the rms phase error at a frequency of interest. The calibration system consists of a coupled-line coupler, an amplifier, a power detector (PD), an analog-to-digital converter, and a data processing unit. In this calibration method, first, the amplitudes of IQ vectors are swept and their powers are measured. Then, phase errors are calculated from these power measurements using the cosine formula. Finally, the vector pairs providing the least phase error are chosen for each desired phase shift. The practicality of the proposed system is demonstrated by realizing a self-calibrated X-band 7-b PS fabricated in IHP 0.25-μm SiGe BiCMOS technology, including the on-chip coupler, amplifier, and PD. The calibration system improves the rms phase error by at least 1°, does not degrade the rms gain error, and increases the insertion loss by 1.6 dB. The self-calibrated PS achieves a 2° rms phase error across X-band frequencies. The overall chip size is 2.6 mm2. The power consumption of the PS and the overall system are 110 and 233 mW, respectively. This built-in calibration system mitigates process variation effects, and the performance of the PS can be optimized for any center frequency across X-band.

  • Self-calibration of projective camera based on trajectory basis

    摘要: To calibrate the projective camera, this paper presents a linear method for self-calibration of a projective camera based on the representing of deforming object by the trajectory basis. The trajectory basis can be modeled compactly in the domain of the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) basis vectors which can be predefined independent of the observed images, and the number of unknowns can be significantly reduced. At the same time, the camera self-calibration becomes a linear optimal problem, which can improve the robustness of the algorithm. The experiments with both simulate and real data show that the presented method can effectively calibrate the camera.

  • Wide-bandwidth thru-reflect-line calibration for empty substrate-integrated coaxial line with grounded coplanar transitions

    摘要: Empty coaxial structures built with printed circuit boards have low radiation, low losses, high quality factor and non-dispersive features. The full integration of empty substrate-integrated coaxial line (ESICL) in a planar substrate is nowadays a fact thanks to a grounded coplanar transition. To properly characterize and measure this new ESICL family of devices, a low cost and easy to manufacture thru-reflect-line calibration kit is proposed to de-embed not only the connectors and feeding lines, but also the ESICL transitions.

  • Calibration and characterization of intracellular Asante Potassium Green probes, APG-2 and APG-4

    摘要: The response of fluorescent ion probes to ions is affected by intracellular environment. To properly calibrate them, intracellular and extracellular concentrations of the measured ion must be made equal. In the first, computational, part of this work, we show, using the example of potassium, that the two requirements for ion equilibration are complete dissipation of membrane potential and high membrane permeability for both potassium and sodium. In the second part, we tested the ability of various ionophores to achieve potassium equilibration in Jurkat and U937 cells and found a combination of valinomycin, nigericin, gramicidin and ouabain to be the most effective. In the third part, we applied this protocol to two potassium probes, APG-4 and APG-2. APG-4 shows good sensitivity to potassium but its fluorescence is sensitive to cell volume. Because ionophores cause cell swelling, calibration buffers had to be supplemented with 50 mM sucrose to keep cell volume constant. With these precautions taken, the average potassium concentrations in U937 and Jurkat cells were measured at 132 mM and 118 mM, respectively. The other tested probe, APG-2, is nonselective for cations; this is, however, a potentially useful property because the sum [K+] + [Na+] determines the amount of intracellular water.

  • Co-polarization channel imbalance phase estimation by corner-reflector-like targets

    摘要: Polarimetric calibration is a critical step to suppress the potential system distortion before implementing any applications for polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR). Among all the distortion elements, the crosstalk and cross-pol channel imbalance are generally estimated by the use of natural media, and the co-pol channel imbalance is traditionally solved by the use of corner reflectors (CRs). However, the deployment of ground CRs is costly and may even be impossible in some areas. Many bright point targets, such as poles, lamps, and corner points of structures, are commonly found in manmade regions. In particular, if the object orientation is parallel or perpendicular to the radar flight direction, some points will present similar polarimetric responses to trihedral or dihedral CRs. These points, which are referred to here as "CR-like targets", can be treated as a supplement to approximately solve the system distortion elements when CRs are unavailable. In this paper, we propose a novel step-by-step algorithm to determine the CR-like targets and estimate the co-pol channel imbalance phase in uncalibrated PolSAR imagery. Chinese X-band airborne and C-band satellite PolSAR data were used to test the proposed method. Compared with the CR-derived co-pol channel imbalance phase, the solution errors of the CR-like targets were 1.305° and 0.03° for the X- and C-band experiments, respectively. The results of the experiments confirm that the solutions of the CR-like targets are very close to those of ground-deployed CRs, and the proposed method can be considered as an effective way to calibrate PolSAR images when sufficient CR-like point targets are detected in manmade regions.

  • Characterization of beam splitters in the calibration of a six-channel Stokes polarimeter

    摘要: Polarization distortion in a beam splitter is a phenomenon where the polarization state of output light deviates from the theoretical expectation, which is inevitable and will result in significant errors in the optical systems. A theoretical analysis method based on Mueller matrix ellipsometry is proposed for characterizing the beam splitters and the application in the calibration of a six-channel Stokes polarimeter (SP) is shown. In this study, polarization distortions in the beam splitters including depolarization, linear birefringence, circular birefringence, linear dichroism, and circular dichroism have been considered. With the proposed method, the beam splitters are characterized by the polarization distortions and the effective optical parameters extracted. In our experiment, the Mueller matrices of two different commonly used beam splitters measured by a commercial Mueller matrix ellipsometer (MME) are consistently fitted by the proposed method and the residual errors have shown improvement compared to the conventional methods. A practical application of the proposed method is exhibited by calibrating a SP system containing two non-polarization beam splitters and three polarization beam splitters. With the proposed method introduced, the general error of the measured Stokes vector can be reduced from 3% to 1%, and the errors of the thickness measurement of standard SiO2 thin film samples are within 1 nm compared with the results reported by a commercial MME.

    摘要: This paper proposes an effective and practical method for self-calibration of traffic surveillance cameras. Based on analyzing multiple moving vehicles across multiple frames, the Canny edge detector and Hough transform are first adopted to obtain orthogonal horizontal vanishing points pairs, from which corresponding vertical vanishing points are derived. Next, mean shift clustering and Laplace linear regression are employed to deal with noise and outliers during estimation of vanishing points. To overcome the unreliable estimation issues of orthogonal vanishing points pairs, we further utilize the projective line segments obtained from 3-D vehicle model to create more reliable pairs and iteratively improve the calibration results. Finally, the estimation of distribution algorithm (EDA) is also applied to relax the assumptions made on camera parameters and the moving trajectories of vehicles during the iterations. Experimental results on different datasets prove the feasibility of our proposed scheme.

  • Charuco Board-Based Omnidirectional Camera Calibration Method

    摘要: In this paper, we propose a Charuco board-based omnidirectional camera calibration method to solve the problem of conventional methods requiring overly complicated calibration procedures. Specifically, the proposed method can easily and precisely provide two-dimensional and three-dimensional coordinates of patterned feature points by arranging the omnidirectional camera in the Charuco board-based cube structure. Then, using the coordinate information of the feature points, an intrinsic calibration of each camera constituting the omnidirectional camera can be performed by estimating the perspective projection matrix. Furthermore, without an additional calibration structure, an extrinsic calibration of each camera can be performed, even though only part of the calibration structure is included in the captured image. Compared to conventional methods, the proposed method exhibits increased reliability, because it does not require additional adjustments to the mirror angle or the positions of several pattern boards. Moreover, the proposed method calibrates independently, regardless of the number of cameras comprising the omnidirectional camera or the camera rig structure. In the experimental results, for the intrinsic parameters, the proposed method yielded an average reprojection error of 0.37 pixels, which was better than that of conventional methods. For the extrinsic parameters, the proposed method had a mean absolute error of 0.90° for rotation displacement and a mean absolute error of 1.32 mm for translation displacement.
