  • Resistive switching behavior and mechanism in flexible TiO2@Cf memristor crossbars

    摘要: Fiber-based memristors are expected to be one of the most ideal candidates to the future wearable nonvolatile devices. In this work, Carbon fibers coated with rutile TiO2 nanorods (TiO2 NRs) were prepared via hydrothermal method, which were denoted as TiO2@Cf. Flexible TiO2@Cf memristor crossbar was facilely assembled on a polyimide (PI) film. This device exhibited bi-directional threshold switching behavior and a maximum ON/OFF ratio of 105. In addition, the conductance of the memristors can be continuously adjusted by consecutive sweep cycles of bias voltages. The devices also exhibit excellent endurance over 1500 cycles with a negligible shift. The carriers transport and resistance switching of the TiO2@Cf memristor crossbar were explained by the Fowler-Nordheim tunneling model. The oxygen vacancies (OV) in TiO2 drifted to the interface of TiO2/Cf by an applied electric field, thereby reducing the depletion region and enhancing the current. This work provides a profound understanding of the resistive switching behavior and the related mechanism in flexible TiO2@Cf memristor crossbars, and paves a new way for potential applications for memristors in artificial synapses and flexible devices.

  • TiO2/MoS2 heterojunctions-decorated carbon fibers with broad-spectrum response as weaveable photocatalyst/photoelectrode

    摘要: The development of efficient and recyclable photocatalysts with wide spectrum response has drawn much attention. Herein, we prepared TiO2/MoS2 heterostructures on carbon fibers (CFs) by a two-step hydrothermal method. CFs/TiO2/MoS2 exhibits a strong and wide absorption spectrum from ultraviolet to near-infrared region (> 1200 nm). Under the irradiation of visible-light, CFs/TiO2/MoS2 could degrade 97.6% Rhodamine B (RhB) after 100 min, 94.2% Acid Orange 7 (AO7) or 93.4% tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) after 60 min, and 88.7% 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) after 180 min. Moreover, CFs/TiO2/MoS2 bundles can be further weaved into a cloth (area: 4 × 4 cm2). CFs/TiO2/MoS2 cloth as a working electrode exhibits significant photocurrent (7.53 × 10?6 A/cm2) and enhanced photoelectrocatalytic efficiency (100% TC) comparing with only photocatalysis (90.7% TC) or electrocatalysis (47% TC). In particular, CFs/TiO2/MoS2 cloth shows excellent stability. Therefore, CFs/TiO2/MoS2 cloth has great potential to be used as flexible and weaveable photocatalyst/photoelectrode for degrading various pollutants.

    摘要: In this paper, we developed a production method for items based on mesh silicon carbide that are suitable for cleaning aggressive fluids, melts, and gases from foreign inclusions at high operating temperatures. The resulting products can also be used for filtering fuel mixtures.

  • Structural and mechanical characterization of carbon fibers grown by laser induced chemical vapor deposition at hyperbaric pressures

    摘要: Laser induced chemical vapor deposition (LCVD) of freestanding carbon fibers from ethylene at hyperbaric pressures was investigated. Relationships between processing conditions, growth behavior, microstructure, and mechanical properties of the carbon fibers were established. It is found that the fiber growth rates are limited by surface reaction kinetics at low temperatures and limited by gas phase nucleation at high temperatures. At higher pressures and intermediate temperatures, growth becomes mass transport limited whereupon the fibers exhibit drastic changes in morphology and microstructure from a core-shell, smooth appearance to nodular formations. The tensile strengths of the carbon fibers grown by LCVD are generally poor due to the nature of graphitic carbon deposits. However, the Weibull modulus among the LCVD grown carbon fibers was found to be very high. Effects of processing conditions and microstructure on the fiber strengths are observed and discussed.

  • Detection and imaging of local ply angle in carbon fiber reinforced plastics using laser ultrasound and tilt filter processing

    摘要: Wrinkles in carbon-fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) are extremely dangerous, dramatically changing the performance of a composite structure. However, wrinkles are one of the most difficult defects to detect and characterize with ultrasound since they do not produce large echoes like other flaws. Recent developments in laser-ultrasound (LU) have enabled non-contact, high-resolution imaging of CFRPs, providing sub-ply resolution and detailed visualization of CFRP structures. In this paper, we demonstrate that the superior resolution of LU systems can be used to help track ply orientation variations in composites. To improve the signal-to-noise ratio of LU generated signals, we propose a local cross-correlation based tilt-filtration procedure for coherent spatial signal averaging that accounts for the shape of subsequent layers. In addition, local ply angle is a straightforward output of the proposed processing, which can be used directly as an indicator of wrinkle severity.

  • A Study on Photocatalytic Behaviors of Activated Carbon Fibers Impregnated with N-Doped Titania

    摘要: Activated carbon ?bers (ACFs) impregnated with N-doped titania were prepared via the sol–gel method and sonochemical synthesis. The photocatalytic behavior of rhodamine B showed that N-doped TiO2/ACF nanocomposites exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity. This result could be attributed to the synergistic effect between the high adsorption capacity of ACF and the visible light photocatalytic activity of N-doped TiO2. In particular, the N-doped TiO2/ACF nanocomposite that was sonicated four times had the highest photocatalytic ef?ciency and degradation rate, owing to the optimal N-doped TiO2 loading and nanocomposite pore structure.
