    摘要: In this article, authors present an all-in-one (AIO) scanner with 24 degrees of freedom and a photodetector as well as a photoelectric actuator for very low cost multiphoton microscopy (MPM). The main mirror, optical filters, the scan lens, the tube lens as well as the scanner in a conventional multiphoton microscope are replaced by a single AIO scanner. The AIO scanner plays a critical role on very low cost (VLC) multiphoton microscopy due to its compact size, less optical components and lower cost. The presented AIO scanner is instrumental for a very low cost multiphoton microscope (VLC-MPM) due to its compact size, less optical components and lower cost.

  • Dielectric Anisotropy Sensor Using Coupled Resonators

    摘要: In this article, a new approach is proposed for the measurement of the uniaxial anisotropic dielectric constant of different planar samples by means of a single sensor. The sensor is based on a couple of straight-line coupled resonators in microstrip technology that can be excited in odd and even propagation modes. This sensor is designed on an isotropic substrate at the design frequency. Due to the electric field configuration specific for each mode, it is possible to relate these modes to the dielectric constant in two different directions (parallel and perpendicular) of a dielectric material placed on top of the sensor. This technique is used for the successful characterization of the dielectric constant anisotropic of anisotropic dielectrics (FR4, Rogers 4350B, and Arlon Diclad 880), and the isotropic material PTFE.

  • Polarization controllable and wide-angle frequency tunable metamaterial absorber

    摘要: In this paper, the design, fabrication, and measurement of a high-performance metamaterial absorber (MMA) have been presented. The three major concerns of MMA’s are narrow bandwidth, angle sensitivity, and uncontrollable polarization. By smartly controlling the proposed design, the solutions to these three concerns of MMA are given in this paper. By integrating the design with varactor diodes, we make the MMA tunable to wide frequency ranges. Frequency tunability ranges from 4.2 to 7 GHz. By using circular sectors in the resonator, wide incident angle insensitivity has been achieved. The presented MMA exhibits more than 80% absorptivity up to 70° incident angles. With the proposed design, it is possible to control either TM or TE polarization resonant frequency by ?xing the resonant frequency of other polarization. Also, a biasing technique which is simple and effective to control both TM and TE resonant frequencies simultaneously is given in this paper. Moreover, all these advantages have been achieved by using a single layer low cost FR4 material having thickness 0.6 mm as a substrate. By using a standard parameter retrieval technique, the real and imaginary parts of both permittivity and permeability of the presented MMA are calculated. It is expected that the presented work improves the state-of-the-art in the smart metamaterial absorber domain.
