  • Medium viscosity effect on fluorescent properties of Sn(IV)-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin complexes in buffer solutions

    摘要: Supramolecular triads consisting of hydrophilic Sn(IV)-tetra(4-sulfophenyl)-porphyrin and two axial guests such as propylphenol, tyrosine, and 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-benzoxazole were synthesized. The structures of synthesized complexes were identified by experimental spectroscopic and quantum-chemical simulation methods, and their fluorescent properties were studied in various viscosity media (mixed phosphate buffer-glycerin solvents of different composition). The effect of axial ligand structure on the fluorescent properties of these triads (due to the hydrogen bonding or π-π stacking between the components of ?host-guest? systems) is discussed. The potential use of synthesized complexes as environmental probes of local viscosity is proposed.

  • Fluorescent Properties of Gd-Doped Zno Nanonporous Networks & Its Application in Optical Biosensing

    摘要: This research presents a study of the fluorescent properties of new materials based on gadolinium-doped zinc oxide nanoporous networks obtained by sol gel method on the surface of microcrystalline silicon. The effect of co-doping of different concentrations of Gd ions on the emission properties of ZnO nanoparticles has been investigated. Emissions of such biomolecules as protein, amino acids and porphyrin and its detection limits were studied for the purpose of practical application of Gd-doped ZnO nanonporous networks as an element of an optical biosensor technology.

  • Review on Carbon Dots in Food Safety Applications

    摘要: As a new class of promising fluorescent carbon nanomaterials, carbon dots (CDs) have been well developed in recent years for their excellent fluorescent properties, simple synthetic approaches, good biocompatibility and various detection applications, which can be expected to replace the tradition semi-quantum dots. This review aims presents the current progress in the development of CDs with an emphasis on fluorescent properties, synthetic approaches and applications in food safety. First, the fluorescent properties of CDs are briefly introduced. To seek more reasonable synthetic approaches, the characteristics of the diverse methods of CD synthesis are summarized. And then, applications of CDs as fluorescent probes in food safety are discussed, with emphasis on the determination of metal ions/anions, pesticides, veterinary drugs, bacteria, functional components and banned additives. Finally, the challenges, such as how to explain the diversity of fluorescent properties, and how to form a uniform synthesis procedure to improve the quantum yield (QY), for CDs are presented. Although CDs have found many applications in food safety, it is still a challenge to detect a specific target in complex samples. Therefore, combination with other biochemistry technology to exploit novel ligands against the specific target with high binding affinity and selectivity is vitally important for developing sensitive and specific sensing probes in the future.

  • N-donor ligand driven CdII-based coordination polymers: synthesis, structures and highly selective luminescence sensing for Fe3+ ions

    摘要: Three CdII-based coordination polymers (CPs), formulated as [Cd2(dnpdc)3(DMSO)3·0.5H2O]n (1), [Cd(dnpdc)(bpee)] n (2) and {Cd(dnpdc)(bimb)·2H2O}n (3) have been successfully synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 exhibits a 4-fold interpenetrated 3D diamond network based on dinuclear Cd2(OCO)3 cluster. Compound 2 features 3D frameworks constructed from the 2D [Cd(dnpdc)]n sheets pillared by 1D zig-zag shaped [Cd(bpee)]n chains. In compound 3, the mononuclear CdII units are mixed connected by the dnpdc2- and bimb ligands, yielding the 6-fold interpenetrated 3D diamond network. The fluorescence measurements reveal that three compounds exhibit intense blue emission in the solid state. In particular, compound 3 exhibits highly selective chemical sensing for Fe3+ ions in aqueous solution.

  • Low-Temperature Effect on the Electronic Structure and Spectral-Fluorescent Properties of Highly Dipolar Merocyanines

    摘要: Absorption and fluorescence spectra of a vinylogous series of reversely solvatochromic merocyanines based on benzimidazole and malononitrile have been studied in frozen ethanol solutions at 77 K. It is found that they possess negative thermochromism – in contrast to both positively solvatochromic merocyanines and negatively solvatochromic symmetrical ionic polymethines – and even stronger negative thermofluorochromism. It has been deduced from the spectral data, that at low temperature their electronic structure becomes more dipolar, deviating substantially from the virtual ideal polymethine in both the ground and excited states. At that, owing probably to high polarity and ordering of frozen ethanol, the dipolarity of the studied merocyanines increases with the polymethine chain lengthening – the tendency not observed for them in common solvents. The conclusions, based on the spectra data analysis, have been verified by the (TD)DFT–PCM simulations of the dyes within the four-level scheme of electronic transitions.

  • Gas Adsorption and Fluorescent Sensing Properties of Two Porous Lanthanide Metal-Organic Frameworks Based on 3,5-Bis(2-carboxy-phenoxy)-Benzoic Acid

    摘要: Two porous isomorphic 3D Eu(Ⅲ)/Nd(Ⅲ) lanthanide metal?organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs), formulated as {[Eu(BCPB)(H2O)(DMF)]·H2O·1.5CH3OH}n (1) and {[Nd(BCPB)(H2O)(DMF)]·2H2O}n (2), have been designed and synthesized by using the tripodal ligand of 3,5-bis(2-carboxy-phenoxy)-benzoic acid (H3BCPB) under solvothermal condition. Complexes 1 and 2 display 3D (3,6)-c net with the point symbol of {4.62}2{42.610.83}. Furthermore, fluorescent measurements showed 1 has highly selective detection for Fe3+ and CrO4 2- ions in aqueous solution, which shows that it acts as a chemical sensor for detecting Fe3+/CrO4 2- in aqueous solution. Meanwhile, gas adsorption properties of 1 and 2 have also been studied at different temperatures for N2, CH4 and CO2.
