Transparent dual-band monopole antenna using a μ-metal mesh on the rear glass of an automobile for frequency modulation/digital media broadcasting service receiving
摘要: A transparent dual-band monopole (Inverted-F) antenna using a micro-metal mesh film (μ-MMF) designed on the rear glass of an automobile (Hyundai K5) is presented. This design allows the optically transparent antenna to be installed in a wider space, thus overcoming the space limitation typically posed by roof-mounted shark-fin antennas. It can also reasonably solve the problem of low reception sensitivity and radiation interference from antennas operating in other service bands. The antenna is a combination of two simple monopoles operating in the frequency modulation (FM) (88–108 MHz) and the digital media broadcasting (DMB) (174–216 MHz) service bands. Measured reflection coefficients (S11) of the transparent antenna using μ-MMF are under ?6 dB (VSWR 3:1) in both the bands, and the radiation pattern shows directive patterns to the outward direction from the car; the average peak gains in the XY plane are 1.1 dB in the FM service band and 8.8 dB in the DMB service band.

Improvement of 60 GHz transparent patch antenna array performance through specific double-sided micrometric mesh metal technology
摘要: This paper presents the performance of optically transparent 4 × 2 microstrip patch antenna arrays operating at 60 GHz and made from double-sided micrometric mesh metal layers. A high level of optical transparency (higher than 80%) over the entire visible light spectrum coupled with a sheet resistance lower than 0.5 Ω/sq of the mesh metal films are achieved. Microwave performance of the transparent antenna arrays has been performed from two different mesh ground plane patterns and compared with those of an opaque antenna array made of double-sided continuous metal films. A gain value equal to 13.6 dBi at 58.0 GHz has been recorded, against 15.6 dBi at 59.7 GHz for the opaque antenna array. The influence of the mesh structure and mesh parameters of the ground plane is investigated and discussed.

摘要: The high performance cold cathode x-ray source was fabricated by using the point-typed CNT field emitter. The cold cathode x-ray source consists of the CNT point emitter, the metal mesh gate electrode, the metal hole focusing lens and the tungsten target anode electrode. To fabricate x-ray source, such components were mounted in a SUS vacuum chamber. The fabricated CNT x-ray source showed a good resolution of x-ray images at a low anode current and at a low anode voltage, and also indicated stable operation. We evaluated x-ray images according to the tube voltage and the tube current, respectively.

Transparent antenna using a μ-metal mesh on the quarter glasses of an automotive for DMB service receiving
摘要: This study aims to design a transparent antenna that operates at a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) service band (174-216 MHz) for an automotive (Hyundai K5). The transparent antenna designed on the quarter glasses located on both sides of an automotive to avoid space limitation typically placed in a roof-mounted shark-fin. Moreover, the use of a micro-metal mesh film (μ-MMF) enables the antenna to minimize visual perception and size consideration through its transparency. Two types of transparent antennas (inverted F antenna; Case1 and top-loading inverted F; Case 2) are designed, fabricated, and measured. The transparent antennas have an average peak gain of 13.2 dBi for the inverted F antenna and 12.54 dBi for the top-loading inverted F in the overall DMB service band. The receiving RF power (dBm) of the antenna on the quarter glasses is compared for the reliability of the signal reception in two separate locations. The power level has a difference of less than 3 dBm by location and direction.

Data on lateral collection length of charge carriers depending on pre-white-light soaking process for metal mesh transparent electrode based Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells
摘要: The authors have recently reported silver nanowire based Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells [1,2]. Metal mesh based transparent electrodes other than the silver nanowire can be also employed or have a potential to provide a better performance for the solar cells. To select a suitable electrode for a solar cell among metal meshes, it is required to have data on the lateral collection length of charge carriers in the targeted cell. The method to determine the lateral collection has been reported in our previous publication [3]. Here, we report data on the effect of the light intensity during pre-white-light soaking on the lateral charge collection length for metal mesh transparent electrode based Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells.
